No recent threads on him, so does anyone really still think he's a top striker? One great season largely down to having acres of space as defenders chased Suarez around, and barely scraped 10 goals in a season otherwise.

As soon as he came on on Sunday i breathed a sigh of relief because you knew any decent buildup from Liverpool would be ruined as soon as it came to him and he blazed it over the bar. I'm amazed he's still there.

Weird thread. No one thinks he's a top striker anymore or close to it, he's washed up after an injury ravaged career. He is talented and had a brief moment in the sun a few years back.

Huh? He's been utter wank for years now and is approaching 30. Was never anywhere close to 'world class' like some delusional folk thought.

His body can’t cope with the PL after one injury too many, he still has quality but it’s a shame given he’s one of the most talented footballers I’ve seen in a Liverpool shirt.

He's finished. Can't run. The few good games he had in the first month of the season was his last hurrah.

I think you've got to be blind not to see his 'potential quality'

He was just never able to reach that full potential being injury riddled, it happens to good talents

Several years back he had a spell injury free for Liverpool for like 18 months, half a season followed by a full season, where we saw that quality, scoring nearly 40 goals in that relatively injury free period.

The guy was a super natural goalscorer

But injuries have held him back and he is now no where near that exciting striker who could at any moment from a nothing situation.

He's done at Liverpool imo, he's best off moving to a team outside the top six

Look back through any thread involving him and there's always someone.

I don't think he was ever close, even without injuries. Suarez being in the team flattered him.

Apart from the 13/14 he never really looked like a top striker. I'd say apart from that, before he was finished like he obviously is now, his level was around the Jamie Vardys and Callum Wilsons of the Premier League. A good striker but never close to one of the best in the league.

I hope we get rid next summer.

Some of his best form came when Suarez was suspended though.

Did anything ever happen with his gambling scandal? Can’t remember when I last heard about it.

I know we're supposed to dislike Liverpool players but I sorta feel bad for him. He was really good for a while before his injuries.
I don’t feel that sorry for him.

Weren’t his injuries more him refusing to play unless he was 100%. He had a similar problem to Saha that he wouldn’t play unless he was fully fit. Which was stupid as a lot of footballers are not always 100% especially during a long season. So he’s definitely not someone you want around when the chips are down.

Sturridge hasn't been a top striker for years, mostly due to injury but he's stayed fit for most of this season and all I can remember is him scoring v Chelsea and PSG and that was in September.

His contract must be up soon, it screams him ending up at West Ham dosen't it? They finally get rid of Carroll and then sign him.

Considering how injuries have affected his career, isn't it pretty obvious that he had good reason to not take risks?

Denying he was out there with the best in his healthy years is just pure blindness. He had the goals, the talent and the potential of a true world class. 20 non penalty goals outscoring the likes of Aguero was no small feat. They were even starting Madrid rumors.

From what I gather Sturridge suffered severe depression.

Good luck to him. I hope he has a career defining goal in him. Maybe CL final.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Anyone who steals a dog should have to stand in a busy town centre holding a sign up that says "I steal dogs" for a month and then they should go to prison for 5 years and then they should be executed.

Sturridge should be allowed to go full John Wick.

If that broken window leads outside or if they left another exit open the dog might have gotten out on its own. I find it hard to believe that someone would steal a dog unless they are planning to blackmail him.

Not a huge fan of designer dogs but hope he can get it back. Not the poor dogs fault.

I just assumed he would go to Leicester and sit on the bench coming back from injury - with the occasional subs appearance when Jamy Vardy needs a rest and probably picking up more injuries.

Agreed. Total scumbags. Almost like stealing a family member for some people.

Hope this does not go sour and they just get rid of the evidence

Vid starts off complaining about breaking in & stealing things, then mentions the dog. Almost sounds secondary to him. Angry that he was violated, offers money for info on who did it, then offers money for the dog.

Still hope the dog is ok and is returned.

Let's skip the first few parts, no point in putting a scumbag like that on the tax bill for any amount of time.

Once Lukaku goes and Ed fails to bring in a striker.. probably get offered a 4 year contract on 200k a week. Fits well with the British, over rated, over the hill kind of target Ed wants.
