For feck sakes, I'm not arguing that Jordan is inferior to LeBron. (Although let's not pretend like Pippen and Rodman were mediocre)

I'm saying that, saying "LeBron couldn't get it done against Curry" is an asinine statement.
Yeh, but people keep claiming that LeBron is the perfect teammate and the ultimate player and yet he has never made his team as good as the Bulls or the Warriors despite handpicking his teammates along with 2 other superstars.

I've seen how much every players needed to sacrifice while playing to LeBron and I honestly can't get my head over how people keeps claiming that LeBron was always hamstrung by his teammates whenever they lose while giving him all the credit for their championships.

There’s always gonna be the gambling theory... but there were a lot of things that went into him playing baseball then. I really don’t believe one of them was the Houston Rockets.
I'm not saying he left because of the Houston Rockets. I don't think it's a given that his record would have been 8-0 if he stayed in the league, primarily because the Bulls had no answer for Olajuwon. Even if he did lose in the finals, it wouldn't take away from the player he was.

I don't know he's the perfect teammate or the ultimate player. He has flaws in his game as well.

He can't make his team as good as the Bulls because he's not as good as Jordan. And regardless of his GM abilities, what team can he assemble under cap rules that will match up against 2 MVPs, 1 DPOY, and a top 5 shooter ever?

In some situations (07, 14, 17) he was hamstrung. In some situations (10, 11) he wasn't.

And don’t forget that he not only shut down Kukoc, but he also shut down Marciulionis, too... and got mad at Drexler for not doing the same.

MJ’s tenacity on the defensive side of the ball was unreal, and in my opinion is one of the things that really sets him apart from James as a player.

Someone needs to pick Lebron, just to make the poll credible.

A better debate would be LeBron vs Kobe... I think that would mirror the spirit this thread was made in.
For me it's easily Lebron. And I would pick O'Neal over Kobe but that's debatable.

Yep - completely agree - he won the scoring title 10 times whilst also being the best defender in the league - and was able to score all those points whilst also being primarily responsible for shutting down the other team's best scorer.

Based on what?
He is a forward but can handle the ball like a PG. score low in the post. make jumpers and threes, Score, assist, Rebound, and athletically in absolute beast.

Still I think Jordan is the GOAT.

A better question in the thread might be ignore championships and all of that WHO would win in a 1 v 1 MJ or LBJ?

He had the mentality that if he scored 0 points all game you were not scoring that game either and I love that.

MJ. He's possibly the best perimeter 1v1 defender in league history.
I would pay a pretty fee to watch Prime MJ vs Prime Lebron

If they did multiple games I can see them trading wins because Lebron also is bigger and stronger then MJ and can bully his way into the hole.

MJ is up there for sure, but I think Pippen and Payton were better defenders on the perimeter.
I loved watching Pippen play! An incredible defender and all around player.

Plus it's an excuse to post his dunk on Ewing!

Better quality:

MJ simply had a will to win that only the best across all sports have ever had. I can't see prime MJ losing against anybody honestly. He would lose 1 day, practice 24 hours and come back and win the next.

The only one who would beat prime mj one on one is Kobe but that's because he stole all his moves.
MJ said that as well.

I think MJ or someone else said a Prime Melo would be unguardable by anyone but that he has no defense so he would get scored on at will.

Can anyone help me find the highlights to this Jordan game ?

The game was in the mid 90's and the opposition team was quite physical and hard-hitting which meant they dominated the first half. But Jordan team rallies back to get the score even in the third quarter but the due the playing style of the opposition team, Jordan loses a key team mate. If I can remember correctly the player who replaces the injured team mate last name is Murray(Not sure if this helps). Anyway in the last quarter with the clock ticking down Jordan attempts a outrage long dunk, its looks like there was at least 3 opposition players trying to hold Jordan back but they couldn't stop him and he lands the match wining dunk. Amazing game that I'll never quite forget..

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Jordan.

LeBron has the longevity argument on his side, but MJ was the better player. They have played similar number of games in NBA, and Jordan has 3 more titles (without needing to go to other clubs and team up with other superstars). LBJ is second though, I have him above Magic and Kareem. Arguably the most talented player ever, but didn't have the killer instinct Jordan had.

There's more to being the best than just stats. And even with just that, Jordan is still arguably better. But no one, and I mean NO ONE comes close to Jordan in terms of being THAT kind of iconic player who has done so much for the sport. His dunks are still legendary to this day, his defensive plays are legendary to this day, and even some of his layups are legendary. One of his dunks is literally the logo for one of the most sought after sports brands in the whole world. His on-the-court nickname became the iconic Air Jordan brand. And his Air Jordan shoe line is perhaps one of the most if not the most famous shoe lines out there. He's a hero character in fecking Space Jam, a movie in which no remake of will even compare.

LeBron is a great player. But he can and has only aspired to be like Jordan. In order to be THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME, LeBron is going to have to aspire to be even MORE ICONIC than Jordan. And I don't see how he gets close to that.

Your precious Warriors would lose every final vs 99-14 Spurs.
Probably the worst take I have read on here in a long time and I'm one of those lunatics who take a glimpse in the ronaldo vs messi thread from time to time.
