Don't know much about this guy. Would he be instead of Longstaff or would we still be looking at Longstaff as well?

I think it's great that we are going for realistic/shit targets.

If he is rated at 15 mill Ed should be able to seal the deal at 45 mill with 300k per week wages.

If we go for a proper world class player Ed will have to spend around half a billion.

Maybe he has improved the past years, but he was the epitome of average at Juventus. Strong, explosive and versatile but also a bit of a headless chicken with mediocre passing ability. Unless something has happened to his talent, you really should try to do better.

A midfield with him and Bakayoko I'd be happy to part with Pogba. All we need then is a centre half Cahil on a free would be a shrewd signing and get a striker happy to sit on the bench and come on and score some goals (Someone like Defoe or Danny Graham at Blackburn)
What ??? Lemina and Bakayako ???

Although we do need players to improve our first team, bringing Lemina in for about £18m wouldn't be the worst deal given that Fellaini and Herrera have left and Pogba and Matic may still leave.

Ok right, would you have been happy with peak Dembele at United?
Haha, here we go again with twisting words. Some players can have similar styles, but aren't necessarily as good as the player being compared to.

How many youngsters get compared to seasoned pros? The next this, the next that, only to not go on to be as good as the player being compared to?

Patrick Roberts reminds me of Messi in style, but wouldn't have him at United.

You're really overthinking this one.

What Juventus fans thought about him leaving. This is a rough but still decent translation

https://www.vecchiasignora.com/topic/318974-ufficiale-mario-lemina-passa-al-southampton-per-17-mln-di-euro-più-tre-di-bonus-ciao-mario-il-saluto-di-vs/?page=2

"Dispiace, ma spesso lo si vedeva vagare per il campo in modo spaesato!"

I feel sorry but he often looking a bit lost

"Se gli montano una bussola addosso forse diventa un giocatore di calcio , o meglio ancora un navigatore satellitare."

He might be able to become a player if they upgrade him with a compass or a sat Nav

Watching him play in the CL final was more depressing then Ronaldo's goal

Operazione magistrale Ora via le altre zavorre

Its a magnificent deal. Lets get rid of the other deadwood.

Primo bidonazzo epurato. Ora sotto con Rincon Sturaro Asa Licht. Fosse possibile anche De Scoglio

First deadwood gone. Now lets get rid of Rinco, Sturaro, Asa, Lict and maybe De Sciglio as well

"giocatore con poche palle e senza carattere, bene così"

A player that lacks character and balls. Im glad he left.

"In bocca al lupo a Mario, non tutti posso essere al livello della Juve, gli auguro il meglio".

I wish you luck Mario, not everyone is Juve level.

Giocatore dalle grandi potenzialità e poco carattere. La Juve non può aspettarti Mario! Au revoir!

A player with great potential but a poor character. Juventus can't wait for you Mario. Good bye.

Cessione davvero eccezionale.

Great sale. To think that some say that Marotta doesn't know how to sell players.

This is the best thing happening in the transfer market. Bye Mario, you've tried your best. However when someone is shit he's shit. I admired your attitude in the first year but in the second year you flopped big time

Bollocking about fluently.
For a high pressing game he could be a decent signing. He has both defensive and offensive qualities - but from what I've seen during the (extremely limited number of) games plus highlights I've witnessed - he's missing that special stroke of genius offensively. He's got good technique but his dribbles rarely gets the team anywhere (in fact a couple of times it's halted the offense and passing it on would have been smarter) - and he tends towards taking low-percentage shots rather than finding more creative solutions in the final third. Defensively however he's a hard working and quite formidable player - when he's lit at least - so I'd say he would probably be a good replacement for Herrera if he uses his wits more offensively and remains on his game defensively. Also - if a pacey high-pressing game is really what we're going for - then I think he'd be a better match for us than he's been at previous clubs.

If we don't have to bankrupt ourselves on him - I'd say "Yay". For a reasonable fee and with a couple of reservations - he'll be a promising catch. But yeah I definitely do have reservations - there are a lot of "buts" and "ifs" with this guy.

Agree with you. That's mostly my impression of Lemina as a player and maybe in a top team like ours, he can rediscover himself and push on to find consistency in his game.

Again, for the fees mentioned, it poses 0 risk to the club and I suspect he will be on very low wages as well.

Isn't he bang average?
First season I remember MOTD analysis going mad over his debut (actually think it was against Man. United) but can't say I was that impressed with how he played afterwards.

Last season he was injured a lot and don't think he'd have played much in any case as Hassenhuttl always had Hjoberg playing and then Ward Prowse finally started to step up and give excellent performances.

Get the feeling Lemina is hyped because of the clubs he's already played for, don't think he stood out that much at Marseille or Juventus. Think Hjoberg would be better signing for Man. United.

The Cardiffisation of Manchester United
Ole needs to go. I mean he knows what the club is all about and he's part of the jigsaw that's destroying the legacy of the club. I mean with Mourinho, we were atleast targetting players that had some ability or have proven what they are capable of... The chances of getting into the top 4 was higher.... AWB and James are good buys but Lemina, Longstaff? I don't get it..... How do they expect Adidas to renew their sponsorship? Like Adidas should be like.... yayy let's have Lemina be the poster boy for United..... Lukaku and Pogba will be leaving and we are looking to target players who don't have the pedigree to represent United.

He's box to box. Fair to compare him to Herrera but not Pogba who gets pretty much a free role.

Herrera/Fred/Fellaini are no better as box to box midfielders so I'm not against signing Lemina for sure.

Zero risk? How about more money wasted for someone not good enough and who we'll end up stuck with. Never mind our own youth players who could play there.

I'm starting to believe that there isn't a player out there that some on the caf wouldn't try and spin as a good signing

The managed decline continues.

This is our Pogba replacement...
Clearly the Herrera/Fellaini replacement. Clearly youve never seen him play if you bring Pogba into it.

Fernandes or Savic will come in if Pogba leaves.
