For those interested in football stadium design and some of new ideas about it:

Why Europe’s newest football stadium looked to the high street to ensure success

"... ‘A cold concourse and a stale pint and a crap pie is not going to cut it anymore. … We want to encourage people to arrive early and stay late. And the proof is already there – they're certainly not leaving straight after the match.’ …"
I am getting over at the end of the month really cant wait, wife surprized me this morning. Looking online now the tours are booked up for the next 2 months, is the stadium/bars/activities etc open 7 days a week?

I wasn't there. I can only judge it by the pictures. It looks nice to me - but reminds me too much of places/cafes/pubs in train stations and airports. But maybe it is the best you can achieve within a stadium.

I don't think so (not sure) - I think they are only open as and when linked to an event taking place in the stadium. But for all I know this may change when more of the various visitor attractions open for business - e.g. the skywalk, extreme sports centre etc.

Got some tickets for that game. So looking forward to checking that spanking brand new stadium out.
I think you'll find its "brand spanking new"

You seem to be going somewhere else.

”The new stadium”

Spurs must be the only top flight football club in existence to play in a nameless ”arena” (stadium complex).
Actually, it's called the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

They’re still waiting on that conservative naming deal worth more than any other stadium in sport. They’re just holding off on agreeing it because they don’t want to make too much money right away.

Spurs fans on here are pretty joke. You say something moderately negative about anything spurs and they pounce.

On the flipside, you get united fans who cant wait to discuss negatives about united.

How are we a *pretty joke*, I don’t see us jumping on anything.

And there’s a reason no one ever uses that name because it’s clumsy and clearly just a hold-over until you get your new cheese sponsored name.
Totally agree with you, still a name though to be fair.

Or maybe we're waiting to leverage the brand exposure of reaching the CL finals, plus the coming brand exposure of playing our first full season in the new stadium, hosting NFL football, hosting Rugby Union games, hosting WSL games and more … just a thought.

When you get a post like this, which yes is wrong:
”The new stadium”

But bang all within 2 minutes of eachother:
It’s called Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Actually, it's called the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium it is called with.

And when this is quite clearly tongue in cheek:
They’re still waiting on that conservative naming deal worth more than any other stadium in sport. They’re just holding off on agreeing it because they don’t want to make too much money right away.
You get Glaston right on cue with this:

All in all, pretty hilarious.

When did you reach your other CL final?

Sponsors aren’t idiots, they can estimate that exposure right now. What would be idiotic though would be forgoing a year’s worth of sponsorships because you have wildly unrealistic expectations.

Didnt say it was. The fact that you all pounce the second someone says something moderately negative about your beloved spurs and there brand new bit of cheese, is hilarious though.

All ive done is state i find it funny, and you yourself have jumped on that.

Yeah maybe it’s all those things. It’s not likely that your conservative estimates were bonkers or anything. It’s definitely the prestige of hosting women’s football and rugby union that will have the sponsors flooding. You’d think a business would want to monetise their brand as soon as possible... just a thought.

6 months ago potential sponsors could not visit a finished stadium, nor see the rave reviews that it has received since opening for business. And 6 months ago potential sponsors didn't know that Spurs would be in the CL final, hosting Rugby Union games, hosting WSL games and have huge boxing matches on the potential cards and so on.

It's laughable how so many posters on here predict financial doom and gloom for Spurs. You'll once again have egg on your face when the stadium naming rights are sold and the full range of stadium-related sponsorship deals emerge.

No. A smart business wants to maximise their brand-appeal before they move to monetise it. And the brand appeal of Spurs and our new stadium is rising rapidly.

The Cathedral City Stadium sounds mint to be fair.
Speakers blaring out a bit of 'R n Brie' before the game.
The leagues best floodlights Hallouminating the turf.
Mauricio Nachotino looking animated in the dugout.
Launching bids for City striker Gabriel Cheesus.

I can see it all now.

However, any business involving any swiss cheese would be naive on Levy's part. To many holes in that business to succeed.

Got any more dairy related predictions? It’s only fitting after all.

Yes, like the one fawning over 10-15mm of seat space.

If you let an entire season slip by without a name deal just because you refuse to accept that sponsors maybe aren’t all that impressed by your extreme sports centre and nail salon, then you’ll have a whole fondue on your face. It’ll just end with you accepting the same offer next year while having missed out on a year’s worth of revenue.

Maybe better to do it when you’re in a Champions League final than after you’ve already lost it. What happens to that brand appeal if you don’t match what they did last season. The trend is going down for the actual team.

Might as well wait ten years to see if the brand keeps growing. After all there is only an upward trajectory. No point in making money now.

Is that like when you predicted £100m net spend last summer and guaranteed the stadium would be ready for the opening of last season? Or do you prefer to pretend that didn’t happen?

Exactly. And that’s without even touching on the embarassing humiliation of having a sponsor like Uber Eats plastered all over your stadium.

Old Trafford has soul and remains undesecrated. It’s like Camp Nou, Highbury, Santiago Bernabeu.

Yes, like the one fawning over 10-15mm of seat space. More pedantry from you. The stadium as a whole has received glowing reviews.

The stadium has only been open for a few months, yet already you're predicting doom and gloom on the basis of nothing but wishful thinking. Levy is a canny operator.

Ghosts of Gooners past. Had some good times at Highbury when we went down there. Always avoided the Clock End and went with the Cockney Reds along the side terracing. First went there in August 1970 when we lost 0-4 to the Arsenal team that went on to win the double.

I mean certain people like @Saffron are blatantly just coming in to troll and wind up Spurs fans with their seriously dull 'you're going back to obscurity' comments which have been happening for years.

And also, there are plenty of sensitive United fans on here who will pounce if you say anything negative about their club. Fans will always try to defend their club from rival fans.

First you say Spurs should be making money now from stadium naming rights, then you say if the stadium appeal is growing then best wait 10 more years and then monetise the name. Basically, you want to criticise either way … and every which way.

Bur regardless of your every-which-way, pre-determined attitude, I'm confident that Levy will steer the optimum path between waiting and then selling the naming rights. After all, his financial acumen at Spurs has stood the test of time so far.

And all this, of course, stems from my simply posting some information about the two latest sports - namely Rugby Union and the Women's Super League - announcing plans to use our new stadium.

Cue the usual suspects to jump in and start banging on about something largely unrelated - the sale of stadium naming rights - and how Spurs are supposedly making bad financial decisions.

You'd never know, to read all these endless predictions of doom, that Spurs are one of the most financially successful clubs in the world.

Sarcasm not a strong suit of yours?

That financial acumen definitely stood Spurs in good stead when their stadium costs spiralled.

I agree it’s shit, yeah it’s a holding name until/if the naming rights are sorted. I would have preferred The New White Hart Lane tbh, but what do I know.
I'd guess that Levy has deliberately avoided referencing White Hart Lane because any buyer of naming rights will want the maximum distance from previous name-associations.

This is a Man United forum though. Do you really expect people to fawn over Spurs and their Rugby Union games? If I were on a Spurs forum I’d expect to get mocked for crowing about Rugby Union games being played at Old Trafford.
