I used to like it when we'd end the pre-season tour with a double match. Two matches at once.

The opposition used to be really weak though, so don't think much was learnt

At this rate we're going to have to bring back the vodaphone cup to play some decent European opposition

Welcome back to the Premiership. The rise of Sheffield Utd has been rapid, considering you were in League 1 just 3 seasons ago.

Very rapid indeed. With the ownership issues at the moment we could easily slope back down too which is frightening. Gotta enjoy the Premier League as much as we can

It’s to appeal to the masses though isn’t it, having fans worldwide. We played Inter at the Lane last year

First half finished 1-0. Decent close range finish from Batshuayi.

Lamps made 11 subs at halftime. Here's the new side...
You'll have difficulty keeping a clean sheet with Cumming.

Amsterdam tournament used to be brilliant, think Man. United played in that a couple of times. Sky used to show it every summer. Remember watching Barca-Ajax one year, Ajax were 3-1 down with about 15 minutes left and came back to win 4-3 with last minute goal, was genuinely one of the best games I saw that season. Think Van Der Vaart was playing for them back then.

Have been to Emirates cup a few times although that's been slimmed down in recent years so don't bother now.

Always liked playing a decent european team at home a week before season starts, chance for fans to watch the new signings without pressure of the three points.

Thought Kenedy was actually a Newcastle player now, hasn't he been on loan there last two seasons?

Looks like it's 4 2 3 1, which Lampard played at Derby I think. Not surprising. This season going to be interesting!

Piazon really still at Chelsea, he must be close to 30 now?!:houllier: I remember he came on as a sub in our infamous 8-0 defeat and was about 21, that was 2012.

25 and a half....so yeah in Cafe terms pretty much 29.

Actually didn't realise he got loaned out last season (last remember him at Fulham). 4 games at Chievo, no goals.
