I think they see him as Suarez's replacement the season after next... whether he'd be happy playing second fiddle is a different matter but playing at PSG must be pretty dull except on European nights
And to top it all off, he’s been injured for most of those important European nights!

Still holding out hope he goes to Barcelona and we end up getting Griezmann. Think it's far more likely they take the transfer ban and drop Suarez though

Coutinho + 60m seems like a fair deal (IMO). I will be happy to take him back. His attitide was better when he was in Barca. PSG gave him too much freedom and that resulted in this present situation.

You are naive if you think PSG will lose the test of strength.

The PSG's communication is the right one given the context: the club is ready to sell him....if they receive a crazy offer...they won't receive.

Neymar will leave in 2020 and Mbappe in 2021 IMO

With Leonardo back I don't really know PSG anymore, with Al Khelaifi it was easy to predict the club because he his friend with the players and let them do whatever they want. With Leonardo I suspect that it's going to be different and that he is the reason behind the change of tone, I don't think that PSG will look at a crazy offer but just a good offer when it suits them in term of potential replacement.

Why would Griezmann come here with no CL football and potentially his mate Pogba leaving?

Because he is an idiot who put himself in a ridiculous position where Barca aren't ready to pay the exorbitant prices Atletico wants and he has more or less burnt the bridges with the club and fans.
Woodward can throw stacks of cash at him

Why would Barcelona want the overrated diving cry baby back. PSG are welcome to him, & hope their relationship continues.

Because Messi wants him back. Also he's the 3rd best player in the world when fit, but that's really more of a detail here...

He's the best player outside of Messi and Ronaldo. The only caution Barca might have is the low amount of games he's played for PSG since joining through injury. Still they're probably confident they can help him back.

Time for Neymar to go home and we get off this awful PSG sheikh timeline.

Sign another marquee signing, for massive money (transfer fee and wages), who would only be here because his first choice destination can’t do a deal for him.

Not sure it’s the wisest move. But I suppose Griezmann could be the ultimate pro and give 100% effort. But anyway, wrong thread for this.

I think you overlook:

- his pride: he will only consider great offers, especially because it is impossible to do smart acquisitions when one sells a player at a high and when the names of the interested club is Barcelona or Madrid (these clubs kicked us out in the Champions League several times in the last years°
- the fact that selling Neymar this year would be a very bad signal internally regarding the Dream Bigger Project and he wants players like Kylian happy.
- the fact that he can't be replaced
- the fact that PSG never lost a top player under contract since 2011 vs Zlatan/Motta/Maxwell/Rabiot/Coman ---> end of contract
- the fact Neymar missed 3 out of 4 most inportant games since he joined the club: 2 against United and 2nd leg against Madrid

The communication has just changed and the message is smart "Sorry Neymar. You want to leave and we respect your choice but we didnt receive a decent offer", a much better message than "Neymar you are our slave so shut up". Leonardo is active at all levels contrary to Henrique.

That said, I believe that Neymar will leave next year IMO.

Stop watching Lequipe21 and read my posts.

Thank you :)

Good to see Barca back to their 90s and early 00s self. Spending ridiculous money on superstars.

Football drought awaits them.

I personally wouldn’t pay a quid for him.
They should just give him $150k per assist and $300k per goal and see how he does....

Not really but now that I’m thinking about it, if that we’re the case would Messi / Ronaldo / other offensive superstars make more money or less money then they currently do if they weren’t paid 150k/assist and 300k/goal? Can anyone do the math

Out of the current crop of big names playing right now, Neymar is the player that will become the most marketable footballer in the world once the deadly duo retire.

I accept that we will never sign Neymar or Messi but as a curious football fan aswell as a united fan, I'd love nothing more than to see them in the premier league and if that meant they signed for our rivals then so be it.

Back to? They always spent a fortune, be it back in 60s or in Pep era.

Been hearing this for the last 5 years now. Neymar is already 27 and has had more injuries than Ronaldo and Messi combined. These 2 still have at least a couple of years left in them. Do you really believe an injury prone 29-30 year old is gonna be the heir apparent to perhaps the best 2 players the game has ever seen?

Mbappe is going to be the next global superstar, Neymar's time has gone imo.

Japp. I lost much respect for them. Thinking of these two douchebags Neymar and Griezboy makes me smile. Some of these elitist Pep-Barca Fans deserve this.

Anyone thinks Barcelona will still try to go for Neymar now ? With Messi, Suarez, Coutinho, Dembele, Malcom and now Griezmann in their salary list, not sure how they could afford it

They would need to sell/trade Coutinho and Dembele who aren't really needed anymore. Same goes for one of Vidal and Rakitic.

I've read today that PSG demand around 150m for Neymar which is somewhat reasonable considering his market value suffered through his injury record, higher age and scandals. They could easily make that fee by selling Dembele, Coutinho and Vidal, exemplariy. And they wouldn't even need to replace them since they've got so many midfielders and attackers.

There are not many clubs interested in those players. I expect Neymar to be forced to stay at PSG although i've read Madrid could be interested in him too

It’s more than conceivable that Neymar’s career is just about to fall off a cliff. His only feasible destinations are Barcelona or Real - and both have spent a lot of money already and are well stocked up front. If he’s demotivated, you can quickly see him ending up back in Brazil, costing PSG a fortune.

I think if they offer them for a reasonable price there'll be enough interests. Bayern would take Dembele immediately. PSG would need a Neymar requirement, could get another French player and Tuchel hasalready worked with him. Coutinho is also a great player amd would improve almost any team in the world.

They've burnt much money though if they really sell them.

With pogba potentially staying, barca and real struggling to spend any more this summer, the muppet in me is thinking I dare Woodward to put the money up for him out of curiosity to see just how much neymar wants a move away from PSG, let's be honest despite all the dreaded baggage that comes with neymar if such a crazy deal happened every United fan would be going bonkers in excitement.

Yes every United fan would be excited right now. And in a year or two every United fan would curse this deal and Neymar.

No chance of him going to play in EL, but yes, despite the baggage, he'd add a lot to any team in the world.
