You’re a yank aren’t you! I get it now..
Haha. A Yank. Like it's an epithet. Nah. I'm English. At least most of my ancestors were 200 years ago. You really are given to stereotypes. Aren't you? I may actually watch more of this United Stand to see what the fuss is all about. I actually don't go to the games either. Because I live 5000 miles away in the California sunshine. Lets get on the same page and support the team. I couldn't care any less what pages or youtube channels or twitter feeds or semaphore broadcasts a United fan follows. Just support the team.

I have watched Mark a few times and all I can say is I would not want to be in that blokes company if a bit of trouble kicked off at a Pub as he would be out the door quicker than a dog out of trap 6.
Mark constantly changes his opinion and contradicts himself and the way he was constantly a Jose fan and then suddenly he was not when Jose had not changed his methods whatsoever was laughable.
I get the impression that Mark is doing his online thing full time now so I suppose it is in his interest to find things that are simply not there and to make a show which is basically commenting on what anybody says on Social Media or what is printed in any paper worldwide on Utd which we all know has about ten per cent truth in it is pretty sad really.

Yikes! "United Stand. Worse than Hitler". Probably not a slogan they'd want to use. You may want to brush up on your history and tasteful use of hyperbole. I'll take this opportunity to bail from this thread.
 Alright mate, clearly you're on a wum because I refuse to believe an actual functional human being would somehow get offended over the use of a hyperbole involving Hitler in 2019.

Additionally you didn't actually address my point with any counterarguments, you just sort rambled about Godwin's law (incorrectly, I might add, there's a whole section on it's Wikipedia page about it's misuse as a "distraction, diversion or even censorship", you might want to look it up) and Hyperboles. Now I going to assume that's because you don't actually have one.

Mark Goldbridge is my mortal enemy.

@Rood hates him as well.
I barely know who he is - dont think Ive ever seen a whole episode of his.
For the Youtube stuff I prefer FTD as at least they are long time fans and matchgoers

I called you a yank because you didn’t get that it was a joke about Goldbridge being worse than hitler. Calling you a yank because you have no sense of humour is also a joke which you’ve also missed.

You’re proof of the stereotype.

I don’t care where you live or if you go to games or not. The point is why would I listen to Mark Goldbridge when he doesn’t even go to the match, The FTD lads do, Same reason i’d listen to Gary Neville’s opinion over some bloke down the pub, it’s a personal preference.

I think Mark Goldbridge is a clown.

He recently said Michael Carrick couldn’t play in the modern era, be trolled by him if you want though you seem just his type.

Btw I’d Rather go to United games every week than live in the “Calafornia Sunshine” anyway mate! Wouldn’t you?

Goldbridge doesn't go but Flex does, so do the people he talks to after games. I actually really like Flex, he seems like a top bloke and same goes for McKola from FTD. Most of the others are kind of wankers in different ways but it is what it is.

Fair enough, each to their own but I personally can’t stand him either, He comes across as extremely fake to me, they’re AFTV wannabes.

I don't think I'm in a position to judge people who go to support United home and away every single game. I think you underestimate the fact that such channels connect foreign fans to the local experience a lot more than previously possible.

These fan channels are also byproducts of how football is developing on a global scale. Clubs nowadays have business plans to leech off as much money as possible from their fanbase, so it's only fair if supporters find a way to do the same thing. I personally don't like the fact that the money flow is totally out of control but what can we ordinary people do about it?

My original point was that we have the freedom to skate on past a page or thread or video that we disagree with. However you strictly care to define Godwin's law (one of the points of Godwin's assumptions was that the invocation of comparison

Humorless Americans? Really? I didn't realize that was an American stereotype. Trusting your instinct to believe or invoke stereotypes will let you down too often. I have too much of a sense of humor for some people. My dad called me "joke a minute" because I wasn't serious enough. I'm by NO means "politically correct". I got the Hitler joke. I wasn't offended by it. I just didn't think it was funny. Maybe it's because over here lately, "fascist", "Hitler" and "Racist" have become lazy slurs, that folks shart out at those with a different political point of view when they are losing an argument. That's the loose Godwin reference. Perhaps an imperfect one. I don't know much about United Stand or FTD. I've watched both and can take or leave them. I slightly prefer Mark but who cares what I prefer? Maybe after watching more of both, my view will charge. As for the California Sunshine, it's usually great weather but I'm far too pink for too much of the California heat. But it's home. At my age, I doubt I'll ever get to a United game anyway but I see your point.

100% this.

The guy loves the sound of his own voice hence why I linked him to DT earlier. Two ducks swimming in the same pond.

Haters be haters and fair play to Mark G. He is a genuine fan with his own opinion and set up a channel with 500k followers and makes money all day talking about United the way he wants to. Most people here are so up there own opinions in life they forget the other 7 billion out there who have an opinion too. Who is right who is wrong? Who knows, but all I know that whether I agree or not with Marks views, he has made a tonne of money and created a genuine community where people tune in on a regular basis. There are some things he says and does that do not resonate with me but i do respect the man for holding his own. Fair enough he changes his opinion, who can say they do not? If you can, you are a liar.
