Already addressed this previously, all clubs saw increases in ticket prices...ALL. It isn't exclusive to United.

We are however the only club rolling out an 8 year price freeze on tickets currently.

No ALL didn't increase their prices every year continuously. Some froze and even reduced their ticket prices. Clubs realised that fans were being priced out.

We on the other hand continued to increase prices until around 2011/12. I think that year we were the only club in the Premier League to do so.

By this time the demand for tickets at Utd had decreased dramatically and they knew this. Hence this subsequent freezing of ticket prices.

You've not defended the ACS policy, full price for FA Cup games, over charging away support, increased prices for latter stages ucl games, bringing payment for season tickets forward to before end of last season and so on....

If you've been a season ticket holder during this time and experienced these demands then fair enough, but if not, how can you defend the way they as owners, have treated the match going fans.

It’s like they pay no attention to how they have completed wrecked the Buccaneers in the NFL, which is pretty damn hard to do given how easy it is with the draft to build a successful team.
I don’t know if using the Buccaneers is the best example. Their only major success was after being bought by the Glazers.

Fine, "all" was probably the wrong word but most had increased prices from 05-12 (approx time period).

As you say now, there has been an 8 year price freeze since.

My stance on them is indifferent really tbh, they'll go we'll get something similar. Football is big business now and not what it was and it isn't going to revert back to the old days magically.

I have stopped buying match tickets and shirts and other merchandise this last year.

I also have not renewed my sub on MUTV and also sent a email to the ticket office that they remove the auto renewal of my official membership. And asked them to remove my credit card details.

Also removed my season tickets spot on the waiting list.

My hope is that enough others would do the same so the club would actually do something when they see that they lose money.

People think trending on Twitter for a few days is going to change a thing? Must be having a laugh.

This will take a hell of a lot more than trending twitter feed.

No one is actually willing to do what it takes, there will always be fans who attend games.

The AC Milan of English football.

A quote taken from a Buccaneers forum.. "Will never win anything with those assholes." Sounds familiar.
Whilst I'll agree they are tight fisted at times, to say that when we have won 5 EPL titles, 1 CL, 1 UEFA cup,Fifa world club cup, 1 FA cup and 4 league cups, is a tad silly in my book to be honest.

And we will continue to suffer, whilst the ignorant part of our fanbase will continue blaming the likes of Ole for all the failures, whereas the problem has always been with the owners and directors at United.

Precisely. Sir Alex had decades to create his own internal system of operations that made sure to keep everything in check, despite the underinvestment by the owners. The moment he left and Gill as well, shit hit the fan.

Yeah it is hard mate, but i am fed up with the Glazers using the club as a personal ATM machine. We could buy a Mbappe every summer without this debt and owners taking out 1 billion.

Good to hear mate!

I’m so sick of everything going on. Squad is just little bit above average. The major rebuild (even if getting rid of the deadwood mostly) doesn’t look like is happening.

We needed a cb, rb, rw, cdm, and arguably a striker going into the transfer market. We addressed one issue. We needed to replace Matic. Then Herrera left, so we need two midfielders.

Someone here ( forgot the posters name) said something along the lines of, the glazers/ed don’t want to spend, so now if we sell Pogba, we’d get one replacement for him, maybe two if we’re lucky, and they’ll pocket the difference, and we’ll forget the two other midfielders that was supposed to replace Matic and Herrera. Also might not get a cb based on what ole said about not willing to pay over the odds. Also don’t get me started about how ole wanted the business to be done by the time pre-season starts because he made it clear it’s very important to him.

For the first time in my life I’m actually very frustrated with the club, even last year I had some hopes, this year, about average squad, owners that don’t want to spend, and inexperienced manager (even top managers would struggle with the players we have), and I just don’t see how we can improve if we’re still being run by the glazers.

I understand the transfer window is not over (not only transfers by the way, it’s the players we’re buying as well), and I hope I eat my words and look like an arse, but I just can’t see it happening.

This is the thread that needs to be the most active and where all the tough internet keyboard warriors should vent their frustrations, instead of abusing our legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But I guess it's too much brain work for most to comprehend what is actually happening to our club.

This article is bang on the money ....

Rage and reality two very different things when it comes to Glazers and Manchester United fans

https://www.fourfourtwo.com/feature...ry-different-things-when-it-comes-glazers-and

Something weird happened at the weekend. Manchester United ‘fans’ called a protest against the Glazers, who have owned the club since 2005. It received some national news coverage – yet only 28 people turned up to the demonstration that never was outside Old Trafford.

It wasn’t a surprise, since it showed the disconnect between social media and real life. Online, a #glazersout hashtag was trending as if there was a groundswell of support. Yet on the ground, nobody knew anyone with much credibility playing any part in it.......
The whole article was interesting but this bit stood out

Genuine dissent from otherwise extremely patient match-going fans wouldn’t be far away if United’s season started as badly as the previous one ended. As his team has returned to pre-season training, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.

I keep wondering when the patience is going to snap at OT. We were challenging for titles when the green and gold protests at OT went on 10 years ago, now things are many times worse. The owners and Ed must know that they can't afford to feck up again this season, not only because of the financial implications of missing top 4 again but because they're running out of excuses. The fans wont turn against Ole, so they can't hide behind the manger this time.

Tell us please, what excatly is happening at our club??

14 years and the club is still in debt. Glazers has costed the club over 1 billion.

6th place last season.

We have not won the league since Ferguson and have not even been close to winning it.

According to Ed:"the club earns money, no matter the sporting results"

Our star players want out, cause lack of ambition and results.

So please enlighten us what the feck we are missing.

I could be wrong, but my take on his post was that it isn't Ole's fault, as some are now turning on him for his promises last season, and now lack of action in the real world, but should instead vent all their fury on the Ed and the Glazers, as Ole's hands are tied.

In which case I agree, and I hope that when the inevitable happens to Ole, then the usual just blame the manager approach is firmly rejected this time, and we finally see some real heat on the right people for a change.

Of course, much as I know he shouldn't be our manager I back Ole, the powers that be have made their bed by hiring as full time manager, and now have to lay in it.

They have rejected going for Poch (or a credible manager), and a DOF, in favour of hiring Ole, so back the guy, throw everything behind him, but don't expect me as an average fan to accept he is to blame when we are still a shower of a sh*t.

Totally agree my friend.

Ole and Phelan actually has a good plan with good targets we can buy and how we should play.

The problem is getting fully backed by owners that dont care if we win anything as long as the cash flow does not stop.

No worries mate, we are all on edge currently and honestly I'm very pissed off by a section of our fanbase that targets anything but the Glazers and the board, who are the only real culprits in our club being a total shambles.

Well firstly I quoted both as the first was a reply to me and second is the reply to that. So I had another answer in my mind, then saw as well as both posts, a Tv ad yes you read right, a tv ad with Robbie Keane and it remind me just how masterful AF was. As when his son was manager of keane at Wolves and told him to buy him, he scoffed when priced 6 million for an 18 yr old(2000) and it made me think then, there is no way in hell Rashford be on the money he is,nor would he have agreed AS mad wages or most of the other nonsense we have seen for the past 6 yrs.

So while my original post was not in support per say of the owners, it was to show we have won under them, but like both of you have rightly stated that was more down to the skills of Alex as proven with the wasted transfers we had since then and the picking the wrong person for the job.

Which is why I wish some of our fans lay off Ole, as a lot of them are singing klopps praises across various sites (mirror is the worse), whats the difference, he also took over a club in shambles who finished 6th year before and he took them to 7th and they didn't turn on him and was given time which I hope Ole gets, at two years before the hatchet come out. Let him have a few windows as they say "Rome wasn't build in a day" nor was SAF dynasty.

Yes we have horrible owners, a guy in ED who should have stayed where he is best suited, getting new sponsors, but jesus h christ we also have a lot of rotten lazy couldn't give a damn players at this club. So like the mid to late 80's, the manager needs to be left alone to get on with the task of rebuilding us and hopefully someone with a football brain to take over from Ed, as if this keeps up, who'll among the top paying brands will want to associated with a club going nowhere and not challenging for trophies.

In general the match going fans are more patient - Old Trafford was full in the 70s and 80s when we won very little, not everyone is there just for the glory.
There are a lot of other factors which come into play for regular visitors to Old Trafford - atmosphere, entertainment, ticket prices etc

at the height of Green&Gold there was a lot of unhappiness about ticket price rises, Auto Cup Scheme, debt levels were rising etc - since then debt levels are have come down, prices have been frozen for 8 years and there have been discounts on League Cup/Europa and youth tickets so from that perspective there is less to complain about.

Also the club cut all dialogue with fan groups after the initial antiGlazer protests but in more recent years they have reversed that mistake - now MUST, Stretford End Flags and The Red Army have all worked with the club on initiatives to improve the matchgoing experiences (J Stand singing section, stadium flags, ticket discounts, future safe standing etc)

One thing which I dont think we need to moan about is investment in the team - whichever way you look at it we have spent shitloads on wages and transfers, far more than many teams who are ahead of us. That is the main issue with the current movement, the primary complaint seems to be related to current transfers or people still moaning about Ronaldo being sold 10 years ago!

Still the Glazers do deserve criticism and they are far from the ideal owners (but who is?) - lack of footballing vision, failure to bring in a DOF, ACS still annoys me and OT could do with some upgrades . Apparently some of these are being worked on and are more important to me than who we buy in this transfer window.

On the playing side, the entertainment is as important to me as results (the two are linked of course) - in the end OT turned on LvG and Jose as much due to lack of goals rather than points, the hope is that Ole will bring back the style of football we missed.
Old Trafford will back Ole for a fresh start but it only takes a few bad results for discontent to grow but at the same time it was only a few months ago that a wave of optimism cheered up Old Trafford when Ole first arrived so it could go either way.

Great post. I honestly forgot about some of those factors about the Green and Gold campaign. The growing debt issue was a huge issue at the time. I think the money that's being mismanaged is a key problem but also we tend to splurge massive amounts of cash one season only to really restrict it when top 4 looks assured. Also, when you factor in that each of our last three managers has made public their complaints about Woodwood's competency it seems all the wrong people are making the decisions for this club.

I don’t like the Glazers but you could have built a title winning side with half the money we’ve spent over the last few years. It’s that clown Woodward in charge of it who needs to feck off BAE.
here,here.woodward is the problem.
At the end of season when we end up half up the table,no Europe, only 2 new players.Glazers will get rid of this penny pincher

Should feel sad for Ole because he’s going to get scapegoated for this mess by United management and thrown to the wolves.

Incredible video, actually got me a bit emotional by the end, showing all those iconic and powerful moments in the club's history.

I felt like a right tosser this weekend.
Went for belated birthday drinks/meal with my folks (been away travelling when my birthday landed). Conversation switched to United. I moaned and groaned and slagged off everything and everyone associated with the club. Beating the drum about fans not giving a penny to the club until changes are made in some shape or form.

Old man reveals he's bought us both tickets to the AC Milan friendly in Cardiff next month. £60 a fecking pop. For a FRIENDLY.

He's never ever seen them live so he's proper looking forward to it and I just shat all over his dream. Felt terrible.

Since the Glazers have taken over, the only thing they are interested in is making money, they don't care if we win or not, they know the club will always make a substantial amount of cash

This does intrigue me, they don't seem to care about reducing the debt at all. what is it now, 500m debt and 700m interest? Is their plan to stay in debt for their whole duration here?

Its not: The net debt is £317m, but why bother witth facts, right?
This is a good summary: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20190214005343/en/Manchester-United-plc-2019-Quarter-Results
They will not pay off that debt anytime soon and it would be bad for the club if they did and had to finance by equity instead. Its a perfectly fine amount of debt considering turnover, profit and valuation.
It would be stupid of them, and the club, and thus for us fans for them to pay that debt off now.

The club pays about £20m in interest yearly. Its nothing.
