Who would you say was the overall better player if you had to choose?

Peak Ronaldinho or Peak Neymar?
Dinho but it's close, very close. Neymar needs to stop getting injured at the worst times

He had a very solid team to say the least of which he was the star of course. Besides, he cheated big time.
He did have a solid and functional team around him. Take him out and that solid and functional team doesn't get out of the group though

Never said the opposite. Just that he had a good team, no one wins trophies by playing with scrubs.
Heh, just give me this will you?

(If course they weren't scrubs, you don't play for argentina by being a scrub. Usually)

Genuinely think peak Ronaldinho is the GOAT. Just didn’t last for too long.
He was also the fulcrum to that Barca 2006 triumph, Messi was only a fringe/squad player back then and didn't actually play any further part after the R16.

Neymar on the other hand won it with peak Messi.

Peak Ronaldinho is my favorite player(with Giggs) but I will struggle to look in a different direction than Messi because on top of being one of the greatest technicians, his effectiveness is from an other world.

Ronaldinho, but it's closer than people think.

We don't know if Neymar peaked yet either(maybe he has - those 1-2 months when Messi was out in 2015 - he was incredible). I thought he was the 2nd best player in the world during large parts of 2017-2018 before his injury.

Clearly he wants out, who can afford him though? Never worth anywhere near his original fee with his attitude and legal issues.

Funny transfer window this, with very good but "unsellable" players on the market, Neymar, Bale, Coutinho, will be interesting to see when / if / how they move on finally.

I suppose FFP doesn't apply to Barca
They've got something like the 3rd highest revenue in the world and have sold a lot of players this summer and brought in decent money and will probably sell more to purchase Neymar.

I think he's going nowhere and stuck at PSG for a while. Good enough for him too. Hope he burns all his bridges and is forced to stay. That would make me chuckle alright.

Barca allegedly had to take out a loan to afford Griezmann, so theres no chance they are affording Neymar too. & Real definitely cant afford him either if they are also eyeing up Pogba.

I cant see PSG accepting a player or two in a swap deal considering how much they spent on Neymar

Neymar Is probably the most entertaining player with the ball at his feet since Dinho. At his best, he’s an absolute joy to watch. He really fecked up with that PSG transfer.
Now he’s made his bed, he must lay in it.

Barca can definitely afford if they sell Dembele/ Couts and stump up 100. Could give them Umtiti/ Semedo on top.

Mas que un club can stoop so low it's beyond comprehension. Burning bridges with almost every transfer they make and going for Neymar after how his transfer to Paris ended.

They are 900 mil € in debt and la masia is a fictionary thing nowadays. Barto is really going for that short term success at the cost that will only be known few years from now..

I’d love to see him in the PL but not for the reasons that I think he would be a success. I would want him no where near my club, just a shithouse of a player.

Dele Alli is a bigger shithouse with about 1% the talent or ability of Neymar, I think you're lying to yourself. Easy to take the moral high ground and claim you wouldn't have him when you never could have him.

How and what has Dele done? I’m not his biggest fan btw. But a Neymar he is not. Don’t see how I’m taking the moral highground either, maybe you should keep standing at an underground train door and chanting.

I've always said if he were offered to us I'd hope we would reject him but that stance would change if it meant we could work Sanchez into the deal. They'd be able to afford his wage as Neymar will be earning more and it's a league Alexis could still be effective in.

My dislike for Neymar isn't a playing issue it's a character issue. Maybe United would be a big enough club for him to respect.

I agree he is quality, a real once in a generation player but I don’t think he respects anyone but Neymar FC.

Neymar isn't fit to lace 'dinho's boots.

You said Neymar is a shithouse of a player. In what way? He dives and showboats some, that's about it. Alli is one of the biggest divers in the PL, is filthy and in a sly cowardly way.

You are taking the moral highground because you are claiming you wouldn't want a footballer who would be the biggest talent to ever play for your club.

You've then gone from taking the moral highground about a player to taking the moral underground yourself by your "maybe you should keep standing at an underground train door and chanting" comment. If you're unable to discuss without dragging conversations down with such stupid comments then you'd be better not to reply.

How so? The diving? In terms of work ethic, Neymar is already better.

The diving does make a big difference. And being a bit of a diva. But footballwise, they're on par.

Ronaldinho on his day was on another level. Far more enjoyable to watch than that **** Neymar.

I've witnessed him in his full glory but he is not 'far more' enjoyable. He had lots of highs, but Neymar's dribbling and improvisation is/are also awesome. Not as explosive though.

I think Neymar is outrageously overlooked as a player for a few reasons. There is a negative slant on him in media (unjustifiably so in my opinion, at least the degree of it), he was in the shadow of peak Messi at Barcelona (and peak Ronaldo at Madrid to boot) and most people only watch PSG in the Champions League knockout rounds and he's hardly played in them due to injuries.

Dude Neymar followed the money, disrupted PSG since he arrived, then decided he didn’t like the money, disrespected the club that paid him his MASSIVE salary and decided he didn’t want to play any more. I wasn’t even talking about this diving. You are comparing a player that cost over £150M to a player who cost in comparison feck all? I don’t get you logic at all.

How can you completely ignore how he is such a twat off the field, and how he disrupts the team he played for.

Yeah, but on the pitch, he is magical when he needs to be. He has better discipline when it comes to drinking and partying and watching his weight.

So you meant he is a shithouse of a person rather than player then? That means you're taking the moral highground and I still think if Spurs could get him you'd be more than happy to have him, as would a fan of any club in the world.

I think as a person he can be immature at times and I think that is largely down to being infantised his whole life having his father as his agent and him being the talent and source of income and lifestyle for his whole family. I don't think he is a horrible person. I've never heard a single person who has had personal dealings with him say a negative word, quite the opposite.

Trust me I get it how good he is, but he is a disruptive person as far as I can see. He needs to wind his neck in and realise the club he plays for will always be bigger than he is.

I wouldn’t want him at my club in his current head space. Just my opinion, he would throw everything we have out of sync. I don’t think he is horrible, I think he plays for himself rather than the unit, I support a club not an individual player.

If u mean I’m taking the moral highground with club over player then I am, I don’t like the current fan of a player rather than a fan of a club.

I think you're letting your dislike for him cloud your judgement. Barca were better with him, Brazil are better him (despite winning the Copa), and PSG are better with him. I think it's fair to assume that United don't beat PSG with Neymar playing.
Make no mistake, Man UTD would be a better team with him.

But he doesn't play for himself, he forms great on-field (and it seems off-field too) partnerships with teammates that benefit the team. Linked amazingly well with Messi and Suarez and the same with Mbappe.

Ronaldo plays more for himself than Neymar, you wouldn't take him at the top of his powers either? As above poster said, i think you are extremely clouded because you have a dislike of the guy.
