Must say I'm very surprised over this. From Allsvenskan where he didn't exactly shine to Premier League within the space of a few months.

This truly is his last chance at the top level. Can't see anyone taking a punt on him if he cocks this up.

I hope he takes this chance. Funny enough it was him who I thought had more talent than Paul when they were kids, just shows how things can go down a different path if you don't have the right people guiding you.

Low risk on a free. I’ll take it. Turned out well with McGoldrick last summer

He has to be pretty talented to be afforded as many chances as he has been, to play at a high level. Around 8000 career minutes at 26 is very little experience but maybe he can still come good. It would make sense if he could do it now that he is a bit more aged, and it would be impressive for him to turn it around.

He is very fortunate to receive a chance like this considering his previous clubs but good luck to him, I really hope he takes it. I love a good comeback story.

If this is the standard of player Sheffield are signing they are going down. Morrison is a failure. He has been nothing short of useless for every team he has signed for, so it is odd they have gone in for him.

Did he actually play much? Coaches usually only play people who seem to give 100% no matter how talented they are.

I think it's fair to say Ravel Morrison has more natural talent than most players, he just has poor commitment and attitude. Perhaps now being back in the PL and being in Sheffield he will feel more at home.

This is surely his last chance at the big time.

He definitely wasn't useless at West Ham, remember that solo goal he scored against Tottenham? he was quite happy there until Big Sam tried to strong arm him into signing a contract with his agent mate, and Morrison refused and got kicked out.

Talent doesn't disappear and 26 is an age you might expect an immature young fella to get his shit together.

I'm sure he has a lot of regrets for the years he's wasted but hopefully he can use that regret to focus on making the absolute most of what career he has left.

Sheffield United must have seen enough from him over the past few weeks to take a punt even knowing about the many issues of his past.

We are totally going to splaff £50 million on him in January aren't we if he has a couple of decent games
No kidding... what are the odd he has a decent year and teams are wanking to sign him next summer?
Bet he ends up signing a big deal for a bigger club and goes right back to being the Ravel that Fergie released.

Be reallly interesting to see how this turns out. He's either going to smash the premier League or have his contract "terminated by mutual agreement" in October

Amazed somebody was willing to take a chance on him - I'll be surprised if he isn't out by Christmas. Though I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I think, deep down, everyone is routing for Ravel to shine! People are rightly pissed off with him as he had the world at his feet and didn’t seem to give a toss! He has the attributes but aside from attitude, he really needs to improve his team work and awareness if he’s going to impress! If he’s played behind a striker with no defensive duties he could be amazing (Matt LeTissier esq) really have my doubts he’ll do it though

He's actually always been fine on the pitch. Even in the u18s/reserves he did a lot more grafting than Pogba, its the off field stuff that's the problem.

Still crazy to think that he was considered a bigger bigger talent than Pogba back in the day, hope he does well.

But it could also be looked at a whole different way, he is still young-ish, has played around the world and has tried and tested what life offers you while only playing football.
Hope he does well, he sure is talented enough.

So was 25, and 24, and 23, 22....and so on.

I reckon he'll be in the reserves by Christmas. I would love to be wrong.

You're overreacting. They decided to give him a chance, he will not be a hit. He'll be maximum average who doesn't start every game unless he starts the campaign in a good way. It's not that he's going to hit the PL by storm.

I'm not knocking him - he has made a lot of money from playing football, more than I'll ever see anyway. He just doesnt appear to be able to do it at any sort of decent level though. He is basically a league 2 journeyman player with a Premiership name.

God luck to him. Talented player and if his attitude has improved then he could be a real asset for them.

Glad that he has signed this deal. Don't like seeing anyone's career go to waste, especially when it's someone so talented who had so much potential.
Was really hoping that one day he would fulfil that potential. Like to see ex United players doing well wherever they go.
Hoping that he can salvage something from his career and that he has matured and that his attitude has improved and that he realised what he could have had and things hopefully make him get head down, work hard and do something good with what he has got left of an already short carreer.
This may well be the move he needs at this stage of his career to put everything in perspective.

He must have been particularly special for Sir Alex say to Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney “look at this kid, he’s better than you, Rooney when you were a kid, he’s better than you, Rio, better than Ryan Giggs when you were kids. This is the best kid you will ever see.”

Such a shame he wasted it all. I for one wish him well on a new stage of his career and really hope he doesn't mess this big opportunity up.

This video with commentary fro Rio shows some of the things us capable if doing

Can't see him doing much in the PL nowadays. Talent is still probably there but playing now and again in Mexico & Sweden is hardly progressing your career. Made too many bad choices when he was younger and therefore didn't develop as he should off.

Would be interesting when we take on Sheffield. Wonder what Ravel will be thinking when he faces Pogba.

Look at that England U21 lineup in the second part of the video and where they all are now - hope he smashes it at Shef Utd & comes back just in time to replace Pogba & win our next champions league

or more likely hhe'll just feck up again...

Agreed. Although I believe highly unlikely there is nothing more than I would want to see mate.

I like how they put "one year deal" in the video, to signal to their supporters: "We're not completely daft".

His development has been completely stunted by years of waste. Yeah, so what he can still mix it in training, wait until the games come thick and fast. I'd bet good money he struggles to start ten games.

Bet he's earning peanuts as well.

This is his last chance in the big leagues and I hope he knows it. Clubs will be paying attention too.
