It seems we have a game before Oslo. Maybe it's closed door since United don't say anything about it.

This was a behind closed doors match - so this one was apparently watched by a fan from a footpath near the Leigh practice ground :smirk:

MUTV had most of our home games, and a couple of aways live last season. I don't know whether they'll be able to do as many now we're in WSL1, but I'm sure they'll still do some. First match of the WSL season (City v United) is live on BT.

The Valarenga v United preseason game is live on MUTV next Wednesday.

I used to get mutv with my football package. Some reason it's no longer available and I can't access it through any other means. May just have to find streams

Don't fully understand how WSL transfers work, but I want to see Rose Lavelle in a United shirt.

Can you not get it through the man United app? I think you still have to pay a monthly subscription fee but like someone else was saying I’m not sure how many games will be shown this year with them being in the WSL and BT I think having coverage rights for that.

Vålerenga game is just a stone throw away from me. Might go.
It'll be a nice crowd for it - the biggest crowd so far for a United women's match - which is a good start. There are fans going over from England for it, I was tempted.

It's early in the pre-season, which may mean some of the World Cup players will be missing, or will only do a few minutes. But players like Zelem and Galton are great to watch and Lauren James has real star potential.

Probably the development squad. Because Saturday 3rd August the first team are still in Norway?
That's my assumption as well. The second Norway match is interesting. It still feels like a really long time until the season starts but Casey's obviously keen to give the squad a lot of time to build up fitness, and to give them matches to try things out.

One issue they've got is there's an international break last week in August/first week in September. We play City on the 7th of September, but our internationals have matches on the 3rd - not ideal preparation. So Casey may not think it's a long preseason (for a lot of our key players) at all.

I’ll be seeing you, then ;)

There is the potential for the world cup finalist midfield clashing: Jackie Groenen for United and Sherida Spitse for Vålerenga.

And of course for setting a National record attendance for a women’s game.

Really? Man that sounds ridiculous hopefully they all come down with mysterious injuries that are totally legit before that game and miraculously recover for City :smirk:

The England games are friendlies, but the others are playing Euro qualifiers so they won't be easy games.

It does feel awkward, because the opening WSL weekend was deliberately setup to have big games and people won't be seeing those teams/players at their best. But then (as a traditional United fan) I always complain about international schedules

Any news about the squad for the Norwegian tour? Any players rested due to WC? (Hope not!)
I haven't seen a squad list for the trip, but I think the WC players are only just returning from holiday. So I doubt they'll be playing a lot of minutes if they are there.

Ticket sales are around the 7000 mark, and Valerenga are doing a last little push by reminding people that the match could break the attendance record for a women's game in Norway. At any rate it looks like it'll be United women's biggest crowd so far.

Casey Stoney was on MUTV doing a halftime interview. The Scottish players are ready to play tomorrow, but it's too soon for Groenen, Greenwood, McManus - they didn't arrive until the weekend. They're all there, as a teambuilding thing, though.

HT - Valerenga leading 2-1

We look pre-season and as usual without Zelem we look a bit scrappy. Picked up as the half went on though, and nothing to worry about given the number of key players (new and old) who are out.

Two goalkeeping errors (one for each side) and some scruffy defending from us.
