Really miss Pogba in this match. Our midfield really play shite.

Embarrassing half but I feel we will see a lot of the same during the season.

I will not be as bad of course but the team we play against will also be a lot better than AC Milan. I don't see more than a struggle next Sunday. But that's just my opinion.
I understand. Also entirely agree. I have my own thoughts on Pogba and Maguire as well but clearly this isn't the thread for a protracted discussion on those subjects!

Based of Lindelof's performance in the first half, we better hold on to Smalling.

Our midfield is a huge problem. We all knew it. Ole knows it. Doesn't matter how many forwards we sign if we create so little and defend so badly as a midfield unit.

Expected it when I saw the lineup anyway but this half has made it very clear that this is a terrible midfield. Genuinely worse than many midtable Premier League teams. Keeping Pogba is so important. Getting Fernandes would also improve our midfield weakness far more than Dybala imo.

Pre season friendly of course, but i’ve watched all our other games and this is the first one where we’ve really fallen back on some old habits. Completely relinquishing possession to the opposition and lack any sort of cohesion up front when we get it back.

Also, we look really fecking knackered!
It's been fine example of how are games went last season. 15 minutes of looking great and sloppy the rest of the game.

Mata and Matic together forming part of the spine of the team is a big NO NO..

Struggled since the equaliser. Mata and Matic look out of sorts, Andreas also struggled out wide right. Other than that we have defended alright, while Rashford and Martial look dangerous.

We would be much better off with Pereira's legs in the centre and Mata wide right or hooked at half time.

Since they equalised, it’s been very poor to watch. I’ve nearly fallen asleep :boring:

Martial and Rashford only threats so far, worst half of pre-season that

Wank attacking from fullbacks. As expected.

And Lindelof was toyed by Milan's attackers.

We really need to play a higher line otherwise this high press won't last. Players will fall like flies with injury.

The Milan defence is playing so high up, but both Martial and Rashford seem utterly reluctant to try to make some runs in behind.

Also, the midfield just needs to do more, both attacking and defending. I slate Mata but he has been decent so far. Matic has been awful.

Good start but tailed off towards the end of the half with Milan growing into the game.

We still can't hold the ball against a shit half-fit Milan side. Nothing has changed in terms of attacking football. It's all counter attacking.

Poor half. It looks like the entire team's head went out of the window after their goal and let them control the position.

Nothing to be concluded from that though but as I said we feel like this preseason dragged for way too much and we played too many games in short period of time and about half of them was against actually decent teams so hopefully didn't affect the players fitness. We're just about to start the season.

You know, it's really good that we are fixing our defense with AWB and Maguire. But if Pogba does leave, we are well and truly fecked. Need at least one quality midfielder asap.

bad game for us. Last season's second half all over again. If these players bring same game in PL then god help us.

Guys. Have we improved? I dont see it. We are missing a CM to put his foot on the ball and control the tempo. We are missing a number 10 to create and we have no RW
Not at all. Same old crap we are terrible in midfield backwards passing. Getting rushed by an Italian team says it all

I'm shocked that we look just as bad as last year with exactly the same players on the pitch (plus a new right back).

Mata still starting games for us in 19/20

Can't handle the high press at all. Keep on giving the ball easily away every fecking time.
