Where the grass is greener.
this guy seems to have made it clear he wants to come to us - which is more than can be said for the Bales, Fernandes and Dybala's of this world. I haven't seen him for a full 90 mins for ages but he looked pretty good back in the day
When? This seems like total media bollocks, even more so than the Bruno links.

So with Dybala and Fernandes looking like dead ends, could this guy be a target for us? Mctominay SMS Pogba would look great on paper.
It doesn't, there's not nearly enough mobility in there for the style Ole wants to play, the 3rd player he adds in that #10 role needs to be able to press and be mobile.

Savic may not be the right fit, however I don't think Dybala is able to press in that 10 role either

We badly need a midfield addition. Even if he's not best in the world, we need cover and he seems to be able to fill many roles across the midfield - both attacking and defensive Our options are too thin in midfield.

Can he play next to Pogba in a midfield of 2? Or is he better as AM behind the striker?

Got a beautiful assist against Sampdoria.

We need to sign him in January.
Whomever we buy its best we buy now and loan back until January. It's much harder to make deals in January and teams are usually reluctant to let go of star players

How’s he been doing this season? Seems like he’s playing deeper this season and WhoScored have him well rated again but would like to hear off anyone that’s seen him regularly.

not sure don't follow that league but watched him v Celtic in Europe twice and he was horrible. Maybe the hype he'd been given on here I was expecting too much, but he was a massive disappointment in those 2 games v Celtic

Have not read anything lately but as soon as the media want to drive the Pogba transfer again once the Sancho thing has been exhausted from every angle then I am sure Savic will come into the picture again.
A question for those who have watched Serie A this season;
Has he been a big influence on Lazio this season and is he becoming a better player as he gets older even though he is still a young man?

Nothing I've seen on highlights, or during the last world cup impresses me to be honest, Matic looked a far better player in the Serbian team. Just cannot see this happening.

To be fair he has been really good this session in a very good Lazio team.

I’ve never been so bored of hearing about a player I have never even seen kick a ball.

From what I have gleaned from the CAF was that initial summer we were all desperate for him as he was incredible player, then the following season everybody agreed we dodged a bullet at the money quoted as he now looked average and that he has remained average since then?

He looked really good before the World Cup but he did not have a good time at that tournament.
I ask the question because he always seems to be mentioned in the top bracket of players in Italy and his team had been doing really well this season and because he has been there for a while it is feasible he may want to change leagues on the back of a good season.

You should try the Angel Gomes thread,
The young man has only ever shone at u18 level or in division two reserve level and yet he gets more positive reviews than Daniel James who has to be the buy of the season,
Unbelievable!

He was having his best season yet this year from a performance stand point.

I don’t doubt he’s a top player but his situation is a little similar to Bruno. He’s been at a club who’s level he is clearly better than for far too long. That’s no disrespect to Lazio who are having a great season but in terms of leagues I’d like to see him make a step up.

He has been very good for Lazio. Luis Alberto and Immobile have a better season i would say

Someone said he stands out in Serie A because of his physicality and wouldn't have it as easy in the PL, but i don't think you can say it like that. Some players dominate wherever they play.

For a fair price, he would be a good option for sure. He is nothing like Matic, position and playstyle wise. He has much more in common with Pogba, and there they are not the same either.

RCM. He seems to find it pretty comfortable playing in between the center and wing.

He's a bit of everything, he's definitely a physical presence but he's good on the ball and press resistant, he drops deep, he's a positive passer on the ball and his passing range is great. In past seasons he has shown his capability to be a goalscorer but he's making the transition to be more involved in the build up hence you'll see a dip in his goalscoring. A bit like how Keane changed from the role he had in Nottingham to United.

Sounds like a better option than Pogba especially if he does his bit in defence.

Great player, but he seems to lack a bit of energy to play in Premier League. I might be wrong.
Would prefer Saul or Partey, although SMS is better on the ball.

No, people want that Ole gives Gomes a chance to show what he can do since average players like Lingard, James and Chong do get multiple chances to try and prove they are good enough to play for Manchester United. Different discussion though.

Fabinho's forehead
I feel like as a precaution, just in case of Pogba leaving, Woodward should send him SMS Text Messages and let him know of our interest.
