Bizarre- there’s no particular rivalry between spurs and Liverpool.

In answer to the question, yes it is fine to join spurs, Liverpool fans won’t have an issue with that at all.
Sort of.

I would have less issue with it if we had ever actually replaced him.

He'd be a failure here, but would be worth it to boil the piss of the scousers for a day.

Don't need him. Useless for us especially for the exorbitant loan fee Barca would demand.

Coutinho's already said it would be 'difficult' for him to come here. Never ever happening

If he's a failure, I couldn't care less that he joins United. Player loyalty doesn't exist anymore, especially not for South Americans. Did he love his time at Liverpool? Probably. Would that prevent him from joining United if a nice opportunity arises? Definitely not.

To anyone saying you wouldn't take him at this stage, when we are starved of creativity, I have to ask how highly you value the teams on-field success. That said he's publicly stated he wouldn't join us in the past so our chances are slim to none.

In any case, if Woodward et al arent having the busiest day of their lives today and tomorrow then we can write off a top 4 challenge before the season has started.

Tbh I don't think he's very good and also think he'd be a massive mistake.

Not very good? We've got Pogba/Mata as our only first team creative outlets. We are destined to start Lingard for most games. He's a genius compared to some of the options at our disposal.

We need better players than Lingard and Mata (among others) but I don't think Coutinho is that player. Would pi.. off the scousers though.

A wonderful player. If he ends up at Spurs or Arsenal that's really bad news for us!

With Dybala, Coutinho, and Eriksen all potentially on the move we'd be daft to not move heaven and earth for one (or more if loans are happening) of them!

Completely agree. We've not had a creative midfielder of that calibre since Mata first signed. Seemingly however our transfer comittee can barely drag themselves out of bed.

I do not care where he goes as long as its not here. Saying that however, if him moving to Spurs helps up get Eriksen I would love it.

Counting I would bring added quality- how any United fan can say they don’t want him is madness

Very good player still. If a team signs him and employs him properly (which didn't happen in Barcelona) they just might end up on the better side of the deal. The only potential red flag would be that he didn't seem 100% committed mentally in Barcelona, if that clears up in a different environment he can recapture his Liverpool form.

Plays as a kind of left attacker doesn't he? Not like we're short of those. Doesn't defend well, not really a striker, don't see how he fits in, which has been his exact problem at Barcelona.

Rejected Spurs. Both he and Barca want a permanent move. He's valued at 80m.
Are transfer fees on the way down now do we think? Spurs 'apparently' having a bid of 64m for Dybala accepted. Barca 'only' wanting 80m for Coutinho or is it just the consequence of these clubs wanting these players gone so not wanting 'market value'

Yeah I think the selling clubs want rid. Juve are trying to balance the books and Barca badly want Neymar.

Tough one really, if he was interested. I kinda rate him but could see him ending up another useless addition.

Not sure it'd piss the scousers off that much unless he set the world alight. They're too busy thinking about how they're the greatest thing ever to happen to football at the moment. They'd also be laughing their heads off if it didn't go well.

I'm sure the European Cup winners would be livid that you had loaned an ex-player who's on the downturn and might just boost your chance at a top six finish.

They probably would and that's what would be funny about it.

I know my sister's boyfriend would be absolutely livid if he turned out in a United jersey.

this loon needs some serious psychiatric help: just heard on radio that he isn't interested in any loan deals. No idea why not - no one can afford to pay what barca would be asking. that's what a few years with the dippers does to you

Stability for his wife and children, for starters.

I think on the money he gets paid, that's pretty much assured
I don't really classify moving from Liverpool to Barcelona to London to Barcelona in the space of 2-3 years or so as stability for my children. I can totally understand that if he wants out of Barcelona, which I doubt in itself, he wants a permanent deal to settle down somewhere for an extended period of time.

I would say he's deluded and thinks he can walk back into Barca side next season (seems to have forgotten that Neymar is likely to be there)
