You would prefer he wears mum jeans?
I thought they looked like Mom jeans myself. Makes it look like he ain’t go no ass.

Excited for the season in the sense I want to see this new style and how the youngsters will get on, I’m not expecting anything higher than 4th and even that seems like it will be a very hard task, but as long as I don’t have to watch the rubbish we had been fed by Jose I’m happy.

Seriously, I cant wait. We're heading into the unknown this season, which is a change from the Mourinho/Van Gaal years of (sadly) knowing exactly what you're getting. Some of these youngsters could genuinely become stars for us. They'll get the game time.

Surely I'm not the only one optimistic?
I am as well - really looking forward to seeing us in action. The players have had a far tougher pre-season than last year so that should pay divdends.

It could be really exciting if we see this high press attacking football with Gomes, Greenwood and James getting plenty of game-time. Unfortunately I can't see it happening, it will be the same old faces and we still lack creativity in midfield. On a positive note, I'm confident that Spider-Wan will be our player of the season. He already looks like a bargain.

Cant wait for it.

So much young talent in our squad what's not to look forward to.

If Lingard starts he should be our oldest outfield player.

We seem to be pinning most of our hopes for the future on the very very slim possibility that the new crop of youngsters are going to turn out to be the next class of 92'. I guess a tiny sliver of hope is better than none at all and luckily I'm a "glass is 5% full" sort of bloke, so bring it on!

Anxious but excited even though i'm not happy with some obvious goings on at the club. Will always support the team no matter what. Hopefully we'll spank Chelsea and go on a run. Need momentum to calm the nerves of the supporters, so a good start to the season is imperative this year.

Good post, I agree and I am really looking forward to this season, which ought to be a free hit for OGS, whatever happens. We sacked Jose because he failed to guarantee us top 4. Those conditions have not been imposed upon OGS, in the firsz of his three year contract. Even SAF was given time.

We have a surfeit of quality and youth. We have experience in spades. Everyone will be talking VAR...but we ought to be aiming for a Cup, top 4 (as always, anyway) and getting points off Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Arse and Spurs. We are a good side, difficult to beat, and now with a bit more speed going forward. Let's cheer the lads on! First we take fat Frank, then we take the League

I'd definitely be more up for it if I was going to OT on Sunday, but having to miss the game unfortunately.

So as it stands I've got a general feeling of apathy and dread instead... just hope our gamble(s) pay off.

I'm not buzzing, but looking forward to the season. Unlike previous seasons, there's a potential of attacking football and solid defense. And our team is packed with young talent. Really looking forward to the impact Maguire and AWB will have on our defense and further forward I can't wait to see loads of McT (after initially not seeing anything special in him), Gomes, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial and James.

I’m buzzing. Not because I’m particularly optimistic. Most pundits I’ve seen, have us tipped at around 6th place, even more so after failing to get an attacking/midfield player or two in at the end of the window. I think that’s realistic.

I’m buzzing because I’ve got my club back. More and more things on the football side are done in the way I’ve always associated with the Busby era, the ways hinted at by Tommy Doc and Atkinson, and reinstated by Ferguson. Since then we’ve had three managers more reminiscent of Dave Sexton in each their different ways, and football side of the club has been run like a mish mash of PSG and Venky’s. It’s not like that anymore. I can see the intentions, the direction of the effort, clear as day. Will it work? Will it take us back to the success Busby and Ferguson spent so many years building to achieve? I don’t know. But it’s recognizeably my club, and it’s not impossible. That means hope, the stuff dreams are made of etc.

If it works, I don’t think it’s going to be a straight forward walk in the park at all. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster ride. That’s why I’m buzzing.

Nah. I’ve been a bit disillusioned with United.

happy to see others are though, hopefully a couple of good performances will make that enthusiasm infectious

I am not. Its a weaker team creative wise which probably means shittier football then the one we've seen last season.

Now silly season is over, Iam really looking forward to season kick off.

Some bad negativity about the seemingly shitty actions of the board of the summer(obnviously warranted) but we mustnt let that detract now from the lads on the pitch and Ole who deserve some support.

Lets not forget that this team caused a lot of people a lot of problems when Ole arrived. We now have a marauding ACTUAL RB and a proper unit CB combination. This means we are not carrying make shift players, and putting pressure on ourselves at the back, and we can now play from the back and get on the front foot.

If we come out of the blocks like we did back in Dec, then were going to make a lot of teams very uncomfortable again. Starting with the blue boys.

Can't wait. Hoping to see some pressing exciting football. Pissed we didn't add some more new faces but no use crying over spilled milk.

I know a lot of people have written top 4 off, but I think we're in with a good shout if we can keep the first 11 injury free for most of the season.

Cannot wait for United to have a great season and put all those who are having a meltdown in their place.

The hysteria in this place is laughable at the minute.

Ole has got a vision and a clear way of playing, something we haven’t exactly seen for a very very long time.

I for one, cannot wait for the ups and downs of next season.

Top 4 here we come!

I'm exited about the idea of seeing some of most exciting young talent we've had in years really get their chance this year.

I might be delusional but I really think Gomes and Greenwood are going to force their way into the team as the season progresses. We have the best back five we've had since Fergie retired and I feel like the club, manager, coaches and players are all focused on a cohesive and positive game plan. Add this to the sorely lacking fitness levels of the last few years and I think we'll be a much improved side.

If we can keep McTominay and Pogba fit, with Fred improving on his debut season as I believe he will, we can really surprise people this year. I'd like to see a few more players shipped out over the next few weeks and I'm still a bit sore about losing Herrera but this is starting to feel like a team I can love again.

I’m cautious but excited. I hope we play the youth we’re putting our faith in and not the old heads who have and will keep letting us down.

So I hope Gomes, Chong and Greenwood all see minutes... maybe even Garner on occasion. I hope that our massively strengthened defence means everything in front of them is more relaxed and doesn’t have to worry about tracking back to help because they’re hopeless like last season.

Super-excited. Ironically I'm not super-buzzed about the new signings, but that's because I KNOW they're good players and EXPECT them to perform, which simply hasn't been the case with United signings for a long time.

I'm excited to see which players step up to their now-properly designated roles as Man Utd first-teamers. Rashford, Martial, Fred, Scott, looking at you, what have you got....

No. My enthusiasm for football in general has been waning consistently for many years, really. I loved watching the World Cup as a neutral fan, which proved to me that my actual passion is slowly eroding, and I've been a bit detached from the sport for a while. Not just United, the sport in general. I don't feel a connection with footballers anymore at United, I'm indifferent to most of our squad and actively dislike the remainder of the squad.

If Ole plays the kids a lot and we're at least exciting to watch, hopefully my passion starts coming back. But I am very much a 'Show Me' type of person - show me something, I'll believe in it. I do not show blind faith in hollow words and claims, we've been burned too many times with that bullshit.

For me, by Christmas at the latest, I'll probably have a good idea of how I feel about Ole and this squad.

I will say I'm very much looking forward to the three new boys.

I'm excited. I think we are moving in the right direction slowly.

Top 4 is definitely a possibility. Well it was last year when Ole first joined but unfortunately ran out of gas. This time, with a proper pre-season, I expect the players to be fit to play a pressing style for longer than 10 games.

I think everyone will be buzzing come the kick-off. It's just that we had such big hopes for this transfer window and the anti-climax post Dybala/Bruno shambles only added to it.

I really like this team too but I believe Lingard should start, if for no other reason than for him to fail and get moved on. Mata just got a new contract so will stay as backup and Sanchez I'd like to see play in EL and cups, where things might be a little more his pace.

That #10 position is a real strange one. We are stacked there but nobody is really claiming it as their own. We are just so used to not playing with a 10, even when Rooney was still here. Gomes is the medium/long term future there though I think.
