Can't see any of the other top 6 teams dropping points. Expecting at least 4 goals for Liverpool, they love playing Norwich.

Norwich don't seem to have strengthened much. I'll be interested to see how their young English players do and if Pat Roberts can do anything after showing some of his quality in pre-season.

Patrick Roberts. I totally forgot about him. Loads of hype when he was coming through the ranks at Fulham. I wonder where he would in his career if he hadn't moved to Man City at 18.

Leicester vs. Wolves is a far more interesting fixture then Arsenal vs. Newcastle... why is that on Sunday if it's not on tele?

Saw him play for England u17s a good few years ago now and he was incredible, definitely one of the bigger disappointments of England youth players not fulfilling their potential.

I can't get over the fact that the season is not kicked off by the reigning champions, every season I'm confused by this again.

Bring this on, can't wait.

Liverpool will be comfortable tonight, but some interesting fixtures for the other traditional top 6 this weekend. Great opening weekend.

Crazy opinion, but I think we should rest a few players tonight Vs Norwich for the Super Cup on Wednesday. We played fine in the Community Shield, but I'd want a serious crack at Chelsea and it would be nice to have some symbolic silverware at the start of the season.

If we have to be at full strength to beat Norwich at home, then we have some serious issues. I'd give Mane a run out for 20 mins or so to get him up to speed

I guess either that or go full strength and blow them away, then take off key players.

Perhaps Barca can loan us Suarez for this game? We can play him alone for this game and he'd probably win it.

Yay it's back!

Hoping we'll start Keita instead of Henderson or Wijnaldum tonight, and that Mane is fit to start.

Sunday looks like a good day of football.

Liverpool 5 - 0 Norwich City
West Ham 1 - 3 Man City
Bournemouth 3 - 0 Sheff Utd
Burnley 2 - 0 Southampton
Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Everton
Watford 3 - 1 Brighton
Spurs 3 - 0 Aston Villa
Leicester City 2 - 1 Wolves
Newcastle 1 - 1 Arsenal
Man United 3 - 1 Chelsea

Finally starting again. It felt like an extra long time probably because i felt like last season was going to be wasted even before the summer even started, even more so after the summer, and was just waiting for Mourinho to be sacked. Finally have things to look forward to now. Tough start to the season for us though.

Bring it on!

Liverpool 4 - 0 Norwich City
West Ham 1 - 2 Man City
Bournemouth 2 - 0 Sheff Utd
Burnley 2 - 1 Southampton
Crystal Palace 0 - 3 Everton
Watford 2 - 0 Brighton
Spurs 2 - 0 Aston Villa
Leicester City 2 - 1 Wolves
Newcastle 0 - 2 Arsenal
Man United 1 - 0 Chelsea

I'm hopeful that we can win against Chelsea, but I don't feel that it will be a great game. I'm expecting it to be a bit tight, quite messy at times and maybe even a bit boring. But, I think Martial will get the winner at some point during the second half to bring the points home. Wan-Bissaka to deliver a man of the match performance!

What're your expectations for the season. Have you guys done a lot in the window?
I expect a bumpy ride but I’m optimistic about staying up. We’ve signed 10 players which sounds a bit much but we needed depth going into this campaign. We’ll stick to the core group that got us promoted unlike Fulham so that gives me confidence. Whatever happens, we’re here to enjoy it and after years of league one football I feel like we deserve a bit of enjoyment :D Think we’ll prove a lot of people wrong with their lazy assumptions

That's a quality Sunday start too.
Absolutely! Three teams playing for top four in my opinion. And Utd are playing too.

Sorry guys, but like 90% of your own fan base (check out the Utd forum for yourself), I don't think Utd will even be in the reckoning for top four.

Hopefully you guys will stay up. Read lot of good things about your team and coach, his tactical set up where CB makes overlapping runs and all that. Should be interesting to see how he sets up in PL.

You're confusing poor Sheffield with doomed United. At least where the Redcafe faithful are concerned anyhow.

Shame on you.

It's gonna be hilarious seeing our crap referees using VAR. I bet they'll still get decisions wrong.

Could very well be a fiasco if they don't let the game go on when in doubt. Hopefully they're sufficiently briefed about how they have to change their decisions and behaviour because of the presence of VAR.

I've no doubt that the handball rule will be doing my head in the entire season.

Outside of our games, I'm actually a bit excited to see Everton, Spurs, Arsenal more than most seasons. Probably won't be watching much of City and Liverpool this season.

Good luck for the season mate! You've been the team that I consistently took out of League One to the Premier League on FIFA the last decade so I'll be rooting for you to stay up :D

From a Belgium POV - the Verrips transfer is going to be interesting to follow in the upcoming days by the way, since KV Mechelen has announced that the transfer is void and they'll be heading to FIFA for adequate measures.
