Real Madrid was the wrong move for him. I really liked the look of him before he moved to them, but he was always going to struggle for game time once he joined them
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's shite. But I don't see him being the saviour of your midfield if you get me. He'll be a good addition but I don't see him fulfilling the promise he had a couple of years back. I don't think he's especially suited to the English game either. He needs the perfect team around him to be that player he threatened to be.

Mount did very well in the Eredivisie during his year at Vitesse. Even rumors about Ajax and PSV wanting him but he went to Derby instead.

I'd agree with that. I reckon he'd need at least 2 or 3 seasons of consistently playing for him to reach the potential he was showing. I don't see him doing much in a one year loan at us.

Newcastle could play this match till the heat death of the universe and still I dont think they would score.

Got a feeling Newcastle will finish bottom. Villa looked okay against Spurs and Norwich had at least some sort of threat going forward, even against one of the most solid defences in the league. Newcastle have been shite against the worst defence in the top 8

Turns out after the initial hype, Almeron is quite shite in the end

Due to Lampard, right?
PSV and Ajax even more prefer to buy players instead of loaning them. I guess he didnt want to leave Chelsea.

Lampard was a big part of it too. Young English Chelsea midfielder player under Chelsea their best midfielder ever? Ofcourse he went to Derby.

Such a lack of conviction attacking that free kick.

Arsenal played terribly but the three points is all that matters.

Newcastle were total shit, couldn't create 1 decent attack or display of football.

Tidy road win with a clean sheet, although hard to get excited about that considering how toothless the Geordies are.

I'd take a 1-0 scrappy win. We're going to have to put out a very weak like up today I reckon, too many injuries and players not match fit due to internationals in the summer.
Job done

Jesus that was a shite game. Leicester didn't seem up to much offensively and Wolves need a better striker than Jimenez.

Absolute banter from Ceballos. Kicks the ball away after it goes out then is up to the ref pointing at his wrist for full time

Arsenal were fairly poor but three points on the opening day is always important.

Newcastle might be ok under Bruce.

No idea how there wasn’t a goal in the Leicester Wolves game.
