Matic will get games.

The fact Sanchez and Fred weren’t in the match squad for gameweek one speaks volumes. I sense the club wants to get rid of Sanchez. Fred is just a weird one. It’s like the club spent £50m on him but had never seen him play, then realised in training he wasn’t very good.

There was a recent article with an ex academy player and he cited McKenna’s growing influence and how McKenna had used videos of Fred at Shaktar and told the players to study him.

Sanchez and Matic I would just like to get rid of. Not having them around would actually improve the team because we would be 100% certain they won't stink up the place when called upon.

Fred I have a hope for, there's a player there that I feel we could still use. He might not be world class but I think he should be an all right squad player.

A 50m player must be first team starter in any club. One year gone since we signed Fred.

Last chance for Fred in my opinion. If not we can sell him for profit next season.
Sell Fred for a profit?
  1. We paid £55m
  2. Rojo wanted out this summer but the board wanted £25m for him; which would be a profit. No takers.
  3. Sell players for the market price, not a profit.
Fred lacks the concentration, discipline, and consistent passing & accurate passing range required of a United CDM. Doesn't provide the goal threat we should ask of our box-to-box and attacking midfielders. Other than that, his all-round game looks pretty good. Fred would be the last of the 3 I'd move on. I'd sell Sanchez before replacing. With Fred and Matic, I'd want to see their replacements play competitive matches first.

Fred is the only one I have hope. Both Matic and Sanchez are not up to it physically for some reasons and should move on rather sooner than later

Sanchez is not match fit yet. Ole said in his press conference he’s 4/5 weeks behind the rest due to Copa, injury and a break.

Ah, so that explains why McTominay gave the ball away so much then. Been watching Fred feck up the basics all summer.

Matic was washed up when we signed him and I hope he never starts for us again. I have very little hope for the other two

Will he ever been match fit though? It was general excuse for him all season last year. We were never really told what his injuries were.

I don't believe Matic is done, the issue with him was he was overplayed at this stage of his career, I still feel you can get 20 good games out of him a season. The problem was he was played nearly every match and it showed late on in both of his seasons.

Fred, hopefully this high pressure style of the fact we have a better defence will take the pressure of him a bit. I'm hoping he improves this season.

Sanchez, I don't know where he fits in if I'm honest. I'd be happier if he was loaned out and we went with what we currently have as he could upset momentum if we're doing well.

With the limited options we have available in midfield, Fred has to step up and become a viable option. He is not a bad player and is still relatively young, so it should be possible. Ole should look to build his match fitness and confidence with cameo performances and starts in Europa League and cups.

Anything useful Matic and Sanchez do this season, I will consider a bonus. My expectations are extremely low.

Shocking to think the amount of money we paid in fees and wages for these three, they symbolize everything wrong with the club in the last few years.

That said, we need at least one of Fred or Matic to be a viable midfield option, hopefully the former as he's still relatively young for a midfielder, but it's hard to be too hopeful.

I would like to give Sanchez a try through the middle as a striker before trying to ship him off. Fred can redeem himself also.

Funny story.... I had a dream last night that Sanchez was starting for us. Didn't get to see if he was still shite or managed to turn around his fortunes. One can only hope it's the latter.

Fred needs a proper season and given a chance to have a run of games, but unfortunately these days, 1 bad game gets you on the bench, so tough to give him time.

Matic, well the less said the better. He's done really, I'd be fine if it was just that he was not fast, but his reaction timing and awareness is hopeless.

I find the Matic stuff a bit weird. I think he's clearly still capable of having good games, albeit I'll admit he needs to be phased out. Sanchez looks a busted flush to me and Fred hasn't looked good enough since he arrived, a few games aside.

We need a replacement for Matic and for Herrera. These 2 positions should be next on shopping list. Fred, I just don't know if he will fit in here.

I believe Fred will have a decent season, he started showing signs last year and with our non existent depth in midfield he will get game time.

Matic looks shot and Alexis is a waste of time, we need both of them off the books.

I wouldn't be surprised, City were linked with him so maybe that turned our heads. Then again, we bought Bebe because Real Madrid were linked to him

Fred ended last season well. I would be loathe to write him off already. I hope Matic has atleast one season left in the tank because there is no alternative at DM until at least January.

We need to find a way to play Fred into the team as we are woefully short in numbers there.
Matic I expect cant be relied on as much more than a backup DM at this stage as he doesn't even seem to have his start of season burst of form.
With Sanchez sadly it looks like he may need to leave for himself to rediscover his form or whatever of it he has left however I wouldn't even allow this from a United standpoint as playing as a striker we may get use out of him at some stage, even if it is only a burst of form for 5-10 games it could still prove valuable coming at the right time.

You need Matic for back up this year but wouldn't surprise me if you offer him to Inter next summer. Conte always started him at Chelsea and was I think pretty disappointed to lose him and considering he's lost pace moving to Serie A makes sense.

Maybe could happen in January if you sign a new DM in that window.

Sanchez unfortunately is a bit shot away. Can't think ofanother signing that has suddenly come good 18months on?

Fred must be persevered with. No-one is paying even half of that 50m.

There's room in the starting lineup for Fred. Can't see perreria nailing it down

All 3 are done here in my eyes. Fred is just not good enough to be playing here. His first touch wont get better. He is just too laid back and relax on the ball, we have plenty of players like this here already. His high energy is the only saving grace. He is lucky our midfield bar Pogba is relatively average compared to the best or our past.

I think all three will play this season, Fred I still hope, rather than believe he will turn out to be the player he should be, could slot into that left sided midfield slot where he looks much more comfortable, and we sorely needed that balance on Sunday. Matic will get odd games here and there, possibly in EL where him and possibly Mata will play alongside Tuanzebe, Gomes, Greenwood and Chong. Sanchez, if he stays, will definitely be given a run at some stage, almost certainly central, playing behind the main striker. If any of these fail to perform (if given the opportunity) up to the January window, then we could see one, or even two go, with a possibility of bringing a solid CM into the fold.

I feel the exact same way about Fred yet somehow I still want to give him another chance. He'll probably disappoint me but oh well.. For example in our midfield set up yesterday I wouldn't mind trying Fred instead of Pereira and see how that would turn out.

It was interesting watching Sanchez in the Copa America in June. He still looked like the player that we thought we were getting from Arsenal. I simply cannot understand how he fell off his form so badly in the past year with us. No touch and no confidence. I think there is a glimmer of hope that he can turn it around. We should give him one last chance before writing him off.

He had a 3 week extra break because of the Copa America.
Fred had that weird "marriage"-break and joined up later with the squad as well. No need to read too much into this until maybe 10 games into the PL-season.

Where I am worried is that player needs consistent game time to pick up his game, build up partnerships. If fred doesn't cement his place and be regular then I don't see he will be any useful for us this season as well.

In fairness to matic he looked as good as anyone last season when Solskjear first came in and looked as bad as most of the team when we were struggling in the final 2 or 3 months of the seasons, an on form matic is our second best midfielder.

Fred I dont think is cut out to play the deep role in a league like the premier league, maybe use more as a box to box midfielder with the engine he has in him.

It's hard one with Sanchez, we should have used like arsenal did as a striker but the mounting injuries is a huge concern as they will continue to limit his abilities the more and more he keeps picking up at his age.
