When is the deadline for premier league squad registrations?

Should highlight some players likely to be leaving if it's before European deadline.

Is there any hope in us signing a FREE agent now.
A CF or an experienced Midfielder for cover would be nice.

This club makes me wonder sometimes

So, we are going to pay his wages for another year and Inter get him for free at the end of his contract? Surely that can't be right? Take him on loan, pay his wages & then get him for free at the end, fair enough.

There must be more to it than this.

This makes less than no sense unless there is a loan involved. Agreement to sign a player on a free deal next summer means that there is no deal and the club is letting the contract run out.

Waiting for an actual update on this one

I told everyone that no team will pay any fee for Darmian this summer and got laughed at by a lot of posters. Even £2 million is too much considering the age, status, salary and contract length of the player.

Ed must be feeling a bit of a buffoon for rejecting the bids as too low last summer. We've now just ended up paying him two extra years of wages for a few rubbish performances and no transfer fee

Even if they could do that, then it would make more sense from our perspective we may as well just let him go for free now since he’s not going to play and we have to pay his wages.

First, it's a shit source

Second, yeah, you could have sold him for €4-5m last january, but you wanted €12-15, his contract was running out in 6 months and you extended it another year :lol::lol:

You still might be able to sell him for those €3-5m though :D

Feel sorry for Darmian, he has essentially wasted his career signing for us. Perfect example to show how clueless we are when it comes to selling unwanted players.

This. He's 30 soon. Completely wasted his time with us. Would have had a good career in Italy I reckon.

I think it's pretty obvious he's happy to sit and take his wage, if he really felt that way about it, he would have agitated for a move until he got it.

I think we wanted to keep him last summer and Jan for numbers and to see if ole liked him.

But we should have managed to offload him this summer.

I think he is just not the type of character to agitate for anything.

Unlikely. They can only negotiate with Darmian directly from January.

Having said that, so much for extending player contracts in order to get a fee for them, see Darmian and Rojo.

Don't feel sorry for a guy who was happy to pocket wages while doing absolutely nothing for years. As shit as we are, the guy is spineless and is obviously happy with just pocketing his wages and not too bothered about his football.

Cavani could be Inter Miami's first marquee signing on a free transfer in summer 2020.

At times i wonder why it's so fecking difficult to grasp the issues at hand. The problem isn't that we're useless at selling players, the problem is that the players we want to get rid of are on fat wages compared to what they'd fetch in other countries. Swapping jobs for less money isn't a great scenario for anyone

There are lots of ways to do that. One of them that is been proven lots of times by Chelsea is loan (+ option to buy). If the player like Darmian in our case is not gonna play more than 5 games per season there is no point keeping him. Better just loan him out where he would be a starting player (even if it means us covering some % of his wages) and there is a decent chance he would increase his market value. Unfortunately we are not that smart.

Looks to me like he's happy to wait for a free transfer and a nice sign on bonus. He's also the sort who could play well into his late thirties in Italy so he still has plenty of time left in his career.
