1. Don’t compare Scotland to Germany. It’s pathetic.

2. If you’re advocating him moving to Liverpool or City then fair play. But United are not winning the league this season or next.

What benefit would Sancho have at United over Dortmund?
You’re comparing PL and Bundesliga and want us to pretend they’re the same? God forbid someone uses hyperbole to illustrate a point.

There’s a reason Dortmund haemorrhage their best players; I’ll leave that mystery to you.

Bayern has won the league for the last 7 years for crying out loud. If Sancho was so desperate for immediate success he wouldn’t have joined Dortmund.

Does anyone else feel that we could have our own Sancho already at our club in Mason Greenwood? Couple of years younger yes, but I feel if we buy Sancho, wouldn’t that become a hinderance on Greenwoods opportunities?

I know that Greenwood has played as a striker but I’m pretty sure in pre season he played on the right. He even played on the right when he came on as a substitute over the weekend.

I think Sancho is just one of those "Glamour" signings that a lot of people seem to crave.

Greenwood has all the attributes to play as a winger; pace, both footed, intelligent runs, dribbling and a great shot....

Anyone else share this view?
I think we should try and fit greenwood AND Sancho in next season. They are both special talents

I love how he seems to have completely missed the bolded part (insert face palm).

Mikhi left them for a non CL United, Auba left them for Arsenal ffs

Think you quoted the wrong person?

I can 100% understand players leaving Dortmund. But only on a case by case basis.

Sancho leaving for United either last summer or next... daft.

It would go against every intelligent decision he’s made to this point.

Money is all we have to offer a talent like Sancho.

Do you, hand on heart, believe that United will challenge for more meaningful honours in the next 24 months than Dortmund?
You need to give your head a wobble if you think all Man Utd can offer one of England's biggest young talents is money.

You’re being obtuse and you know it.

Dortmund were close to winning a 1 team league.

United are MILES off a title challenge.

Let’s give credit where it’s due. Sancho could be a bit part player at a title winning team like Foden. He chose to be a first team player at a title challenging team.

Why would he correct that to come play here right now? Aside from a massive salary bump.

Is that what I said?

Give yourself some context.

What can United offer Sancho, as a footballer, in the next 24 months, that Dortmund can’t?

It’s this blinkered nonsense that sees us fans laughed at.

He’s where he needs to be. United is a step up in Kudos, but not development.

You do know that despite our woes we've actually won more trophies than Dortmund in the last five years, right? Also he's English and the PL is a more attractive league for English players to play in than the Bundesliga. We're also the biggest (although probably not most attractive to play at any more) team in England.

I'm not being blinkered at all, i actually had a debate with a poster yet about how I think Sancho would probably pick a team like Barca or Real over us, but Dortmund? Fecking Dortmund? Come on

Hasn’t Greenwood spent a large portion of his youth/u23 career playing RWF?
Not really, I mean as part of the academy training all the players get moved around and play different positions for experience, but he's quite clearly a number 9 in his skill set.

It's just the fact he can run quite fast, can dribble relatively well and doesn't shit himself when dribbling at an opponent they decided he could do a job there.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
73% chance he is a Chelsea player next season.

He's a fan, his family live in the area and he is BFFs with Hudson-Odoi. Plus we will have saved our pocket money for a whole year.

..........Striker.............
CHO - Pulisic - Sancho.

Actually, 76%.

When City were shite, their appeal was money
We are shite, our appeal is money.

It’s no insult to us. It’s reality. His career has come on leaps and bounds at his current club. He’s being picked for his country. He’s challenging for honours in his home country. He’s playing CL football.

Why you perceive it as an insult to entertain the idea he’s happier there than he would be here is your call.

Do I think United will be the better place for an 8 year career from today? Yes.

Does he need to ‘suffer’ the next 2 years of growing pains at the potential detriment of his development? No.

I’d absolutely love him Here. But I’m not going to pretend we are a defacto choice that we may have been in the summer of 99

Sancho is absolutely the final piece of the puzzle. Mason is 17 and has plenty of time to shine. A forward line up of Rashford/Martial/Sancho/Greenwood is just perfect.

Did they win it? Have they won it in the last 7 years? They've won 1 trophy in that time, less than United. Last year was their big chance and they blew it.

I see you failed, again, to address the inconvenient truth that Dortmund haemorrhage their best players. I mean, as @Regulus Arcturus Black said, Mikhi joined us with no CL football and Auba joined Arsenal ffs. Yet you want us to beleive Sancho, an English lad who spend a chunk of his childhood in Manchester, wouldn't want to join a behemoth of world football, for no other reason than a big wage packet. It's beggars belief.

Sancho wanted first team football. He didn't leave because he dreamed of finishing runners up to the perennial champs.

What would benefit him? Um...
-quadrupling his salary
-adding 10 million social media followers
-returning to his home country
-speaking English everyday
-playing for the most popular club in the world
-hanging out with his friends from the National team
-being closer to family
-playing in the most popular league in the world

Yes. Dortmund may give the appearance of ‘challenging’ for the Bundesliga because they will finish second, but they won’t win it, and it won’t go down to the last day either. They won’t challenge for the CL by any description of the word, and, especially with Sancho, I 100% would expect Manchester United to win the Champions League before Dortmund.

In addition to that, I can see us challenging for our own league title within the next two years with the right additions too. No team has a monopoly on the PL, and we have the resources to be a strong side if we get some key decisions right. There’s no reason we cannot challenge in 24 months.

There’s not a single football development reason there mate. If his goal is to maximise his talent, we are not some deity like destination right now.

I've badly wanted him since he and Gomes were tearing up the youth leagues for their respective sides. But I can't help recognising the rightness of this, a perfect signing to fill the creative, goalscoring and 'status' gap Hazard will inevitably have left for you lot this year.

Of course, I wouldn't complain if we swoop in there and horribly overpay and nab him. But since we lost Herrera this summer the idea that he should be our highest priority target lost its shine for me - next time we spend money, it now unquestionably needs to be on a defensive or deep-lying midfielder.

You’d do well to qualify for the Europa League next season.

Playing football in a more competitive league isn't better for his development? Hmmm.

But.... they’re in it.

He’s playing at a higher level of competition where he is.

Again. I want him here. He’s a phenomenal talent.

But we’re not a golden goose right now. He’s not missing out on guaranteed medals by not joining us. It’s daft to suggest he should join us right now.

Define ‘more competitive’ As a metric of desired improvement.

The Italian and German leagues are more technical leagues to hone your craft.

The premier league is competitive in terms of title challengers. But we’re not one of those challengers.

If all European leagues were equally rich, German clubs would not haemorrhage talent the way they do.

Circa £50m net spend last summer, circa £70m net spend this summer. We will throw £120m at him next summer
Based on those figures let's assume we'll throw £60m at Dortmund in May, be informed they want £150m, and spend the whole summer haggling before announcing we only want players who slept in United pyjamas.

They will always be in it, by virtue of the quality of the league they play in. He’s not stupid enough to not know that they wouldn’t be in it if they had to finish in the top 4 of the PL every season. It means nothing, they won’t win it. Liverpool spent years out of it, but still beat Dortmund when they came across them in the WL, then returned to the CL and won it.

He doesn’t have to come here, what I’m questioning is the case you are putting forward for him deciding that remaining at Dortmund can give him all he needs. They can’t, they are a level below. They are less likely to win the CL in the next decade than United, which he would know.

Next summer he would have already played first team football for 2 years. It's not like if he goes to United, he suddenly wouldn't play anymore. He would be our first choice RW as we have no RW. It's about playing time. United can offer that to Sancho just like Dortmund offered him playing time when he initially wanted out of City.

I'm not understanding where you're going with this. That he would need another year of development before wanting to be first choice at United? Do you think his next decision will only be about where he can win titles? At age 20?

Seriously? You want to argue the competitiveness of Bayernliga with the PL? 5 different winners in the last 7 games compared to 1. PL had a CL finalist in the last 2 years, with having every finalist of the Europa and CL this year. The quality of the two leagues in it's current state is incomparable. Your argument is essentially Sancho should stay in a comparatively weaker league, a league that has had the same winner for the past 7 years, because it's better for his development somehow, and that, despite it having the same winner for the past 7 years, it's easier to win trophies, despite Dortmund winning less trophies than United in those 7 years. Sound.

Sure, if you want to make 'desired improvement' qualifable first. You'll also have to qualify how the Italian and German leagues are 'more technical leagues to hone craft.' Pop that in a metric as well, if you please.

If ifs and buts were candies and nuts.

Just a good feeling my friend.
I think we'd need to finish in a CL place, preferably at the expense of Chelsea. At that point our future 'story' will be much better sell.

Chelsea have a bleak future ahead, now that RomanA has lost interest and his UK visa. Doubt they can now outspend us. Whereas we'd be able to point to demonstrable progress, plus a beautifully youthful team, of which Sacho would be a final piece of.

Shaw/Martial and WanBisska/Sacho (Dalot, James in rotation) on the wings sounds too good!! So much youthful potential there!!!
