Instead of starting Mata, if Ole really has the trust of the youngsters, why not start Gomes?

From past experience Wolves want to play counter attack so we will need a bit of guile to break this team down.

Start Gomes see what he can do, but I fear it is not a risk Ole will take.

Lingard through the middle and James on the flank, otherwise same team.

Tricky, tricky game. I think Ole's gonna be wary of Nuno's boys, and so he should be, they had his number last year.
He'll play Matic to provide 'extra cover' for the defence. Pereira to make way.

    ----------------------DDG-------------------------------
    AWB------Lindelöf-------Maguire-------------Shaw
    -----------McTominay----Matic-----------------------
    -------------------Pogba-------------------------------
    Lingard-----------Martial---------------Rashford

SUBS - James (Lingard), Young (Shaw), Greenwood (Martial).

    Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 2 Man United
    Maguire and Rashford for us.

**Wolves will be much more clinical than Chelsea were this weekend. Matic will prove to be a liability and despite dropping points at Leicester, Wolves will be keen to impress in their first home game, and Nuno knows how to play against Ole.

Yes, I would agree with this team. Greenwood coming on in later stages, but for Lingard.

    I'd go with:
    de Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Scott
    Greenwood Mata Rashford
    Martial

    Subs: Fred, Gomes, Lingard

Imagine we go 6/6 though in two games against Chelsea (H) and Wolves (A)? It'd be something to potentially get a bit excited about. Two of the toughest games we'll have all season in my opinion.

Wolves away is undoubtably a tough game but we’ll face much harder tests home and away, than them and Chelsea (a very poor Chelsea at that).

This will be a good barometer of where we are, wolves are a good side and strong in the middle - you’ve got to fancy us for this but I don’t think a draw would be a bad result.

Sick of the sight of the Molineux. Would be delighted with a result here. Shame we don't play here once their inevitable Europa fatigue sets in.

I'm hoping to see a slight tactical change from the last game as we need to play to our strengths but surely need to cover for our weakness in midfield better.

A 4-2-2-2 formation with rashford and martial leading the line and a double pivot of mctominay and Fred would be an interesting watch. That might leave pogba and lingard free to provide much needed creativity from the inside left and inside right channel respectively.

Would like to play on the front foot in this one, So I'd bring James in for Pereira. If we go for more solidity by adding Matic to the line up, we will get fecked.

    Brilliant decision
Based on the rules, it was the correct decision. Whether or not you agree with the rules is a different debate.

Funnily enough, Moss is probably more at home sat on his fat arse in front of a TV screen, than huffing and puffing trying to keep up with play on the pitch.

I am hoping that this will be a good time to play Wolverhampton. Early in the season before they have got their form going and while we are still fit and fresh.
I am highly impressed by their manager and the way they play as a real team.
Should be a real test for us.

Based on Chelsea game Perreira wouldn't be of much use. I would play Lingard as the 3rd midfielder for his pressing cuz what else can we do? Not a fan of Fred and away game is not where I would hand a starting role for Gomes. Then it's the right wide player for up for grabs. Again would go for James for his pace and energy to press.

Not a game for Mata or Matic, too slow.

If I'm not mistaken they are deeper into the season due to their europa league games.

You say that until a decision goes for you.

    Fickle fans eh?

Exactly. That is my point. They are having to play PL and EL games with all the differences while we haven't started the EL yet.

We owe these feckers a good beating but we are hardly up for revenge in the last couple of seasons and Wolves were a proper boogie team last year. We are capable of beating them, but we will have to mud our boots and fight on their terms.

I see Luke Shaw is now the new Caf beating stick
Shaw is terrible as a footballer. Several times in attacking positions we have open players but he can’t pass with his right and has to swivel to get on his left and the opportunity is gone.

Also when left winger is open Shaw is not confident enough to make quick Kong passes out of defense so he usually jobs dribbling and releasing the ball when within a few meters away.

We have bigger issue than Shaw!!
Let him form a partnership with his CB and winger and see how he does then.
