The problem is the fuss created out of nothing over here. You have to understand that a 21 year old scoring in.his third game for the club would be excited.
There s no need to make an unnecessary fuss...as has been the case over here
Ok but he was still wrong. It was naive and he wont do it again, I can assure you.

One aspect of his play that I really enjoy is his ability to kill the ball with his first touch, off either foot. He gets it out of his feet really well to make space for a cross or dribble, etc. I don’t really understand the complaints about his technicality.

Some of the crosses he put in with his left foot were great. If only we had a competent striker attacking the space.

It's nice having someone on the left willing to take some one on on the outside and whip in a ball for once.

He needs to bulk up a bit and put extra hours at the training ground to hone finishing and crossing.
Absolutely not. He's a footballer, not a bodybuilder. Bulking up is the last thing he should do as it would cause him to lose his greatest asset, which is his pace and acceleration. Many players have bulked up and lost their pace in recent years, Depay being one example. It makes a player slower and more clumsy, perhaps even more injury prone because of muscle imbalances (Jones). This obsession with "bulking up" in the Premier League needs to stop.

He'll perhaps need to be rested and used as an impact sub at some point during the season. But if he can just continue working on some things like his technique and decision making I think he could cement the LW/LF position as his own in coming seasons. He's already shown that he is streets ahead of a lot other players seen in the United shirt in recent years. Pace, dribbling, work rate, tenacity, urgency - there are a lot of things to his game. Should have had a few assists yesterday, in addition to his goal which he took really well. Think we should consider looking at the Championship for more potential transfer targets.

So much better on the left side. Obviously not the best player we could get to play there, but he is our best option for now and he might get better and really make that position his. If Ole shifts him to the right to accommodate his rashy, then he will deserve the sack when it comes.

This boy will grab his opportunity , has showed it already in the games has played, his 2 yellows for simulation are a joke, both to as has been hit!

I bet there's been a refs meeting because they ref in Championship as well, watch this one he goes down, yes because he's been hit! Both replays showed he was !
He's the only one at present giving over 100% .

One of the few players who plays with heart, desire and an actual love of the game.

He gets it and he gives his absolute all.

Gladly. Rashford, martial, Greenwood, Chong, Gomes all have far more natural ability and will all be ahead of him in 5 years. Not to say James won't be useful, but I really can't see him being anything other than a squad player type due to his work rate and pace. Which is fine, not hating on him, just being realistic. Players don't pop up as top class talents without showing any of that ability in the past, it's not all down to work rate.
Still think the same?

His crossing with both feet in that left flank is one of our source of creativity. With a great pace & tenacity he’s becoming very dangerous to every opposition right back. I hope he stays on the left flank and not being moved to the right, looks much better on the left.

Him & Pogba will be the two of our most creative players this season. Ole must know how to use them properly & our forwards must improve their finishing & movement.

He needs to start LW, he plays better there than Rashford or Martial.

If Rashford starts it needs to be at RW, there's two better players at LW and CF and he doesn't deserve those positions.

Should be good to see him on the left with Martial up front.
We'll probably throw him back on the right to accommodate "Rashy"

I'm really happy with his performances so far, definetly a surprise after the preseason games in which i had the impression that he needs time to be up for a starting place @ ManUnited.

Shame that he is better on the left aswell, leaves us with the same problem as last season and the season before. Would be brilliant if he's left footed and able to play on the right the way he plays on the left in reality.

I think we don't have many other choices. I don't want to see Lingard, Mata or Pereira on the right again. That leaves us with either Greenwood or Rashford on the right if James is to play on the left. Rashford is so much better on the left than on the right, so i think it would be the right decision to bring James on the right.

He doesn't score "easy" goal eh. Best summer transfer in the whole League so far.

Why would you move your best attacker, just to accommodate the much lesser one?

I think Dalot might end up RW for us. He cannot be worse than the others.

If you've got a player in top form in his position, you keep him in that position. We made that mistake moving Martial to the right when he was banging them in to get Alexis on the left. His form went to shit and Alexis flopped. James is the player in form, he should get to play in his best position, simple.

Rapidly becoming my favourite player, his attitude should make certain other players ashamed of themselves.

He wasn't wrong at all, and I hope he does it 20 more times this season.

Because i think it will benefit the team more. Rashford and James are on equal level from the left imo, but i feel James is more useful on the other side than Rashford.

If we had an natural Right Winger we could als try Rashford as second striker/Nr. 10 behind Martial and James in his best position. Rashford played well there against Crystal Palace i thought.

Cant believe that Chong also seems to play better on the left:lol:

Wanted him as our punt before we were linked to him, delighted we signed him but even more at the start he has made. Surpassed my expectations.

Workrate is exceptional, perfect for a team that’s wanting to press from the front. Pace is unbelievable but his attitude is what’s going to drive him to the top.

Well done Dan James, keep it up
Yea same, soon as I saw that goal against Brentford in the Cup I thought ‘wow, who’s this kid?’.

He’s been great so far. We’d have won if Martial was playing I think.

I would rather they care about winning.
feck me get over it. Of all the problems with the current team you’ve chosen this to get annoyed by.

Wish a few other players were even in the position to celebrate a goal.

We also need to talk about yesterdays celebration though. I was dissapointed with it, it was a sensational strike so i expected at least one somersault ala Miroslav Klose or something.

I’m not annoyed, I’m just saying he was wrong and he won’t do it again anyway.

Defenders cant handle his pace. Once the strikers start timing their runs better he should be an assist machine.

Celebrates an important goal because we would have lost if it wasn't for the goal
So please tell me why no one celebrated with him and Rashford and Martial tried to drag him away...

He made a naive mistake that’s it, I don’t get why people cannot accept that.

Think his crossing will get better in time, he'll soon realise we have no poacher and adjust accordingly. Well hopefully anyway. When he was playing those crosses in last season, McBurnie was mopping them up.

At this point, it's probably better if he keeps cutting in for a shot as our strikers are awful with crosses.

How the feck is this an issue. A young winger has moved from Swansea to.United and keeps scoring -we should all be thrilled

His crossing is great. This is not something we want James to change about his game, this is something we want our strikers to change about their movement. Any striker worth their salt would show the movement to get on the end of crosses like those. Ole himself probably would have had a hat trick on Saturday, never mind a Van Persie or a Van Nistlerooy.

At this moment in time there's nothing about James' game that I would significantly change. He's putting the ball into the right areas and he's doing it consistently. Now we just need to take advantage of it.

Aye, I'm not saying his crossing is bad but it doesn't currently suit our strikers, so he could do with switching it up to something that does. Agree it would be better if we had a striker with the intelligence to get on the end of those but that is probably too much to ask.
