Add Smalling to the list. Curious to see how he does out there.

Kenny scored for Shalke yesterday, he's started all their games so far. Shame he's about 12th in line to get in the England squad as a right back though.

Arvin Appiah moves from Nottingham Forest to Almeria for apparently £9m.

Schalke have had so many right-backs in the last years so good for them, England and of course him if they have finally a number one right-back.

Something really odd about that transfer...where on earth Almeria got 9m from? Most Spanish sides outside of the elite ones are restricted to loans and free transfers. Almeria are in Segunda.

Interesting move for him. Still not sure on Duncan, he looks a bit rubbish but still does good numbers. He's been in dispute with both Man City and Liverpool in the past few years.

He's looking like he's having a good loan move so far. Read that in an interview he wasn't clear about his future either. Hope we take him back instead of letting him go!

Good stuff, encouraging to see Amaechi making quick progress. Hasn’t played for England for over a year though, hope he’s involved sooner rather than later.

Michael Mancienne is certainly one for the "I forgot he existed" thread. Probably not even 30 yet....

Didn't know Josh Sims had gone on loan to MLS. Was promising at Southampton not so long ago but seems to have had a couple of loans that haven't worked out.

Was an insane youth player. Arguably best English player in his age group. By all means has really struggled to step up to senior football though.
Could be a great coup for Vitoria then! They are great at developing players.

@SquishyMcSquish is this kid any good? He is from Spurs youth academy.
Was considered one of our biggest (if not the biggest) talents but yeah like @limerickcitykid says he's kind of struggled to make the step up. He's tiny both in height and build so could be part of that struggle.

It's really quite a shame as he's still only 20 and a super exciting player to watch (beats men for fun!) but trust the club has made the right choice. Had a lot of hype around him but so rare that an academy player lives up to that.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on him in Portugal and finding some dodgy stream if he starts.

So is he a winger? What would be a decent comparison?

Vitoria have an exciting team so I will be keeping tabs on them for sure.

Well he was always referred to as a Mini Messi so .

But in all seriousness, he plays a lot on the right (not sure about his spell at Excelsior, but I believe he did there as well) coming in on his left, but also through the middle which is where I always thought he would be best suited. Out wide though he's great at getting past his man, has a ton of flair and that low centre of gravity and really good technical ability makes him super fun to watch. Basically he loves taking on players, he loves to dribble and is like a kid in a park with the way he plays the game. He's spoken in the past about how Neymar is his idol and there's definite similarities in their playstyle.

In senior football though I think the club decided that he might struggle to go up against senior teams at the top level who are far more tactically drilled and physically able to bully him as well. He also had some disputes with the club and there were some questions over his attitude, but he's still young so I really hope that is something he can get past. Had some issues with loans in the past where his work rate wasn't quite enough when he felt he wasn't getting chances, but his spell at Excelsior went really well.

IMO if he gets his head down and really focuses on his game, he can still make it. The fundamentals are all there and he's an absolute livewire. I'd also say he needs to put a lot of work in at the gym, not bulking up or whatever because you don't have to be big to play football, but just getting as fit as he can possibly be and combine that incredible balance with some serious wiriness ala Sterling. That's all that's needed I think, because the talent is all there it's just about the application.

I'll for sure be tuning in whenever he starts for Vitoria. Imagining an England side with him and Sancho in it is .
