Except for the sad fact that our greatest ever manager and greatest ever captain don't get along, this is great interview.

I'll add though, rather controversially, that he was not only our greatest captain, but also our greatest player in the premier league era. More influential than Cantona and more instrumental than Ronaldo.
Of course, many would disagree.
It's not Keanism. It's a utterly horrible thing to make fun of and a half decent human being would have apologized by now. I don't give passes for truly despicable people regardless of how good they were in their profession and frankly nobody should.
Legend. Great player and isn't scared to speak his mind, which is an extremely rare quality to find nowadays.
A genius (and yes, in many ways Keane was a genius) often has serious character flaws. I'm not condoning his behavior. I'm ignoring it.
I just can't. Stuff like these aren't character flaws. They show an inherent lack of character and empathy. I've met enough people in my life like Keane to know they are rotten to core and will pretty much always be. Absolute shame.

Is Keane dead to me? No way. United legend and always will be. He earned that one night in Turin in 1999 alone. Hes just an idiot - but he was as a player too. Its part of what made him so special.
Why do you rely on footballers to be a moral compass? It’s abit silly to expect when they don’t claim to be such.

Agreed that he was a greatest ever player in PL era due to impact and tenure. But I think Cantona is the most influential. Despite only being at the club a few years, it all starts with him.

The word dead has multiple meanings depending on the context. We can't just limit its use because you're over-sensitive about it.
Keane is just a bitter bitter man, great player for us, yes, but it doesn't make him any less of a horrible person.

I don't rely on footballers for anything except for entertainment, however I'll call a twat one when I see one, regardless of their profession.
And you don't have to think like me, but I would think we can all agree that mocking a former colleague for crying about the deaths of family members and seriously ill child crosses the line. It's not even about morality, just about showing a baseline level of empathy and respect.

Which midfielder that Keane played with was better than him? I too believe Robson was better (although only just) but you don't mean Bryan. So who? Beckham? Butt? Ince? Veron? Unless you're counting Giggs as a mid, I struggle to see who you could make a case for if not Scholes.

I listened to the whole interview and and I have to say I agree with most that he said.
The "wazzapp" thing was funny. Did not know he was punched in the face during training and then next day just got on with his job. Fantastic guy.
