Last night I watched 20 minutes from England's U17 game and this Bellingham chap stood out. Can see the big clubs competing for him next summer.

There is no way he will still be at Birmingham past this summer.

If you're referring to Bellingham, he played for the u17s?

I read on an England forum a couple of years ago that his family and team had agreed that he wouldn't join a cat 1 academy because they thought it was a false economy because of poor pathway etc. Unless he's going to get into the first team of a Premier League side I'd be surprised if he left Birmingham this season.

Bellingham, yes, I watched the last 20 minutes against Poland U17 (a link was posted in this thread). It's easy to see he is quite talented.

He only turned 16 at the end of June but he's played in The Championship this season and got his first goal too.

One to watch this season.

Watched the u17 match. Bellingham was the standout player. He reminds me of both Pogba and Foden. Pogba, because of position and how they go about to influence the game, and Foden because he seems very polished like Foden. For example, Sancho was more likely to mess around and try something fancy, and when he pulled it off with his tricky feet, you wonder how someone can do that. Foden, just seemed very polished in his decision making, but also knew what technical skill he needed to accomplish a in the moment task.

Bellingham is the same way.

Great night for Saka last night

Two assists and a goal, should have played himself into more first team action.

Wilock was excellent too although Smith-Rowe struggled after coming back from long term injury problems.

TBH I don't rate him that highly....but he is playing minutes.;)

Which Chalobah is that, one on loan at Huddersfield?

Surprised Karlan Grant hasn't been picked, seems to score a few in awful Huddersfield team but never been picked for England under 21s. Was talk of Scotland looking at him.

I don't see it with MGW either. It's Trevoh Chalobah. He is a Chelsea player but has been on loan with Ipswich last season and Huddersfield this season Could get relegated twice on the bounce at this rate. He's played a lot of senior football but they've both used him in midfield rather than his natural position at centre back. Worth remembering that Tomori had a couple of dodgy loans in he Championship before winning Derby player of the season on his third loan.

Seriously impressive. He should probably play for England's U21 team, he seems that good.
He’s not been called up at all this break. I think they’re giving him a break. He had a better all round game yesterday apparently, his first in his proper position in central midfield. They’d played him wider in earlier games to get used to the physicality.

Okoflex called back up to Ireland. Word is he is in fact not eligible to play for England.

Apparently Celtic's site have switched from calling him English to Irish now on their match reports too.

As expected really. There was talk he was not eligible to play for England for a while but with him being born Ireland and moving up to Celtic I was sure he’d end up with Ireland.

Madueke is by far the best player in our U19s at the moment. Was absolutely brilliant against a seriously impressive Ajax side (even for their standard) last week. Think he will be in the first team next season.

Good to hear, great club for a player to develop at his age. No chance of him appearing this season?
Normally I would say yes but we are absolutely stacked in attacking positions with Ihattaren, Bergwijn, Malen and Gakpo. Plus Doan and Bruma who where brought in for heavy fees (for PSV standards). Our second team plays in second division. I expect him to feature a lot there. It helped a lot of PSV, Ajax and AZ players to develop so I think it will be a good path for him. Next year I think Malen and Bergwijn will be hard to hold on to so he could come in.

Cheers. I didn't realise you had a 2nd team in the Dutch 2nd tier.

Cheers. Hope that if Madueke succeeds more English players will come to the Eredivisie to develop. The league may not be as strong but at PSV (or Ajax) you learn to play with the pressure of a top team where you must win every match. Hopefully we will play CL more regulary to add that to the mix. Looks like Dutch football is on the way up but i won't derail this thread even further :D.

What are the restrictions on foreign players (thinking about Brexit)?
