Bring Roy back as assman?
No but he's right.

We looked scared and puzzled when the ball was anywhere near us. Dropping off them when West Ham had it, encouraging shots such as their first goal, and when we're in possession struggling to show for it. I didn't think Young was any good but there was a point in the first half when he put a free kick into a decent area, not a single one of our players anticipated it and made a move for it. The squad has been mismanaged for years, Woodward's a prick as are the Glazers etc. but this group failed to do the basics today, which is on them, Ole and the coaches.

Did anyone honestly expect anything better? Even on paper their team today looked better than ours and had more quality.

If you think Pogba or Shaw would have fancied the battle today or made any meaningful difference then you’re wrong. Martial was a miss but this is exactly the game Pogba wouldn’t have liked.

And no we clearly didn’t deserve anything from that game. West Ham were pretty average but were pretty comfortable for the match .
Paul Pogba is a vastly better player than Matic no matter who the opposition. But I'll take your crystal ball prediction and wonder if you can give me next weeks lottery numbers since you can predict the past and future?

Say what you want about the manager. I can’t stand most of the players. Far too many are crap and need clearing out. Fecking basic things like passing, pressing, control of the ball, knowledge of the game are seriously lacking. Some of them are an absolute disgrace.

The result doesn't bother me too much as I said before the season started we wouldn't get top 4, anyone that thought this squad had enough for that was delusional IMO. The thing that has disappointed me in the last few games is there's no style of play in effect anymore, the pressing has gone, the quick movement has gone, we've got the two washed up has-beens back starting, basically if you watched this game without knowing there had been a manager change you'd think Mourinho was still in charge, I don't see any gameplan or identity in our play, and that's compounded by the lack of quality, when even Neville says we need 4 players that will all cost £100M you know how bad the side is.

Yes he is A vastly better attacking player but I doubt he would have fancied the midfield battle, it wouldn’t have been his game today. And the difference between Shaw and Young is very marginal so you can forget about this missing key players nonsense. We’re just a very average squad sadly.

Well another beating and no goals scored. Get used to it. We are more than likely to lose to Arsenal next week and Newcastle week after. Then it gets tough. We might have a chance against Rochdale but don't place any bets.

This team and club is summed up by Keane's comments. We are in a dire situation that has been coming for some time. The real shock to me is how many fans are avoiding reality when forecasting games, for example something like 60% on the Caf had Utd to win at West Ham today before the game. What are these people watching?

Every game now has be treated as a fight for Premiership survival but only the players can do the business on the pitch. Ole will be gone by Christmas but that will not change the team. We will then get another manager to stem the tide. When immediate success doesn't happen everyone starts moaning again. Some serious money will be needed to be spent in January and even mediocre players will cost 60m plus. This will only bring temporary relief at most.

Only fundamental changes and a great deal of time and patience will be needed to even start putting this mess right.

We have no midfield or attacking quality for an elite club

Yeah, their team did look better on paper, anything out of that would have been a bonus.

Game of two halves - from bad to even worse.

The spine is not functioning and it’s causing all our primary problems. From front to goalie it’s dysfunctional. Sometimes one part works but it’s not functioning coherently. We also lacked lustre in the first half but the higher energy level in the second half was parried by their solid spine padded by a team of determined average players. That exposed how barren we are as a squad.

The subs didn’t change anything because the squad was already beyond a solution with their second goal, which put the game out of our reach. Another reality check.

We finished with a front three of James, Lingard and Pereira. Had Mata behind. There is a real lack of quality offensively in our team.
That was the game for us. With no striker either we do a clean sheet or we don’t get a point. Couple of nice individual efforts on goal, but you can’t go far with that as your only scoring option. Need Martial back ASAP.

And we were pretty rubbish for a lot of that game too!

I can't disagree with any of that though, it's upsetting to have to criticise Ole but it's clear as day he isn't good enough and will be gone soon enough.

The squad is the worst I've ever seen at Utd.
Yeah. Realising that this Ole just doesn’t have the managerial chops for this big a job is horrible but there you go. Doesn’t make my memories of him as a player any less fond.

For what it’s worth, I think even a world class manager would struggle at a club that spends its money with such staggering incompetence. But does anyone seriously think Ole is a really too class manager? We never would have thought of him as one at Molde and it doesn’t look like he’s turned into one over the last 10 months.

Absolute joke - to start that XI shows just how Ole is just out of his depth. He had the balls to gut the squad and say he was going to depend on youth but, then starts Perreira, Mata, Matic? At least go with the balls to play with youth who will actually maybe eventually grow with the experience. Perreira as an attacker joke, Mata has no pace, there is no quality around him to have that influence you might get out of him with better players and Matic probably had more touches than anyone but, he was expected to be the playmaker?

That first half, what a joke to play with that starting XI with the idea to counterattack. You've got injuries but, then you don't have the brains to dominate the ball and get men forward. Ole is so out of his depth when it comes to game management, its not even funny anymore. His installment was great, he required no actual tactics or management, teams didn't know how to approach us, players were playing well enough and got a bounce from getting the toxic environment but, now when it actually requires coaching/managing, uh oh.

We have been Found out today for not spending in transfer market to replace Lukaku and Herrera and Fellaini..
A huge rich club and we penny pinch so we start the season weaker than last year. A few injuries to key players and we just dont have the depth and quality in the squad to replace them

Pereira Is not good enough, matic is past it, mata always been to slow,
Rashford just isn’t scoring at all, and martial is injury prone...
its embarrassing looking at todays bench.

Whenever Juan mata plays, the chances of United Loosing is high.
Because United is practically playing with 10 men against 11.
He cannot run, cannot tackle, not tough enough, and stay away during 50-50 situation.
In the English league, if you do not have any of those, you probably cannot contribute to the team.
Maybe he is the Club's pet and gain favoritism.
Giving him another contract is a big mistake by United.
Unite could have used the money to sign somebody younger and stronger.
Sadly, this is typical of what's been going on, it's just one catastrophy after another.

That's the crazy thing for me, with all the promise of spending, we've actually gotten weaker.

I so wanted Andreas to prove he can play here. I urged that he get playing time the last couple of years. Well, now that I've seen him play a number of times it's clear to me he is a squad player at best. His attempted creative passes are not creative and lack good execution.

Mata and Matic actually played fairly well, the problem is they are so deficient of any quickness that they don't have it in them to make a difference in a match. They also should be squad players.

We are just not going to compete with decent clubs with players like these starting. I feel for OGS.

SAF had different players playing in midfield. Jones played too and so did Rafael. Surely even Jones and Rojo in midfield would have been better than Mata and Periera today?

Whoever it was that thought letting Fellaini, Herrera, Sanchez and Lukaku leave the club without replacing them needs sacking.

Another season to 'write off' as UTD supporter.
Woodward. We've not invested as required for the last 2 years. Prior to that we over invested in the wrong players. Absolute joke.

I'm not convinced it's even about penny pinching. I think it's a complete cluelessness about what we want. Who do you sign to play in a team with no defined style? What a mess.

Even our best 11 has holes in it.
It does. But it is a good 'best 11' in my opinion.

De Gea
Awb Maguire Lindelof shaw
? - Mctominay - Pogba
James Martial Rashford

We are very week in midfield, and have very poor quality options in attack. .

How can players at this level give away the ball so easily? The amount of times we conceded possession was unbelievable. Makes you wonder what the heck we actually do in training sessions.
