Honestly judging a player based on trophies feels so false to me. It's a team game, and the FIFA awards are awarded based on individual performance.

You can't say that player x is better than player y just because he happens to play on a better team. He might have been more successful in winning trophies with his team, but it doesnt say everything about his individual performance.

Its a fair point but ultimately trophies always play a huge part in these awards and arguably the biggest factor.

He won Fifa best player award last year in Sept as well.
Ah ok. This is just some arbitrary award picked by a handful of "experts" who probably base it more on international and European Cup form than league since it's impossible for them to watch it all.

Franco Baresi (Italy)
Cha Bumkun (Korea Republic)
Fabio Capello (Italy)
Ricki Herbert (New Zealand)
Kaká (Brazil)
Lothar Matthäus (Germany)
Francisco Maturana (Colombia)
Hugo Sánchez (Mexico)
Juan Sebastián Verón (Argentina)
Xavi (Spain)

Van Dijk for sure.
I agree based on the shortlist but given that the public make up 25% of the vote it may not be that straightforward as he has competition from both International and Club team mates that could split his vote as captains, coaches and media make up the other 75%. Someone like Ronaldo has a massive online fan base so he will be there or thereabouts. Only Real Madrid players have won it so far - Ronaldo twice and Modric once.

Marcello, Ronaldo, Ramos, Alves, Modric and Messi have made the FifaPro 11 every season so it will be interesting to see if this changes because Liverpool and Spurs reached the final.

Man City should really be well presented but I don't think they care about domestic football.

Might be the worst Fifpro XI in all these years. How did they manage to fit in Marcelo, Modric and Ramos along with Hazard in MF is beyond imagination. Bernardo Silva, Salah, Robertson, TAA incredibly unlucky to miss out.

To highlight how ridiculous the voting was : Koulobaly finished 13th, Laporte 17th, Alves 5th, Oblak 5th , Eriksen 14th , Son 14th in their respective positions

Marcelo wasn't even the first choice for club or country. Insane selection ahead of Robertson.

The gala right now is so boring I nearly fell asleep twice already. I'm not even getting into ridiculous examples you've given.

Which of the 2 best player in the world awards is more prestigious now? It has been split into 2, hasn't it?

This is chosen by international players and they put Marcelo as the best LB of the past season, that says enough about what a charade this trophy is.

The Ballon d'Or is flawed too, but not to this point.

Ramos wouldn't have been my choice, but he was good at least. I mean, i'd have gone with either kimmich or TAA who actually played RWB and were fantastic, but it's not a nonsensical choice

Modric's coming off a poor season and should have been nowhere near, but the real scandal is Marcelo. Who spent half the season being Reguilon's backup and ended up losing his place in the Brazil squad for the Copa

4 Madrid players, 2 Liverpool ones, Marcelo in there. Laughable to say the least.

When does Ballon D'or take place?

December/January most likely. France Football has not announced it yet, to my knowledge.

Alisson has a lot to thank his teammates for.

After I saw Marcelo, I started looking for my name... who knows. No City players also is a joke.

No. This is FIFA’s version, the Ballon d’Or will be held later.

How can people not know this by now?
Because most normal fans don't really give a shit about the Ballon d'Or.

Suprised Alves didn't make the 11.

These 11s are always laughable.

I swear Marcelo gets in every year for the sole reason of being Real Madrid's left back. Unreal.

I fecking hate the scouse, but Robertson can feel very hard done too here.

Sterling, Mane or Salah should have probably gotten Ronaldo or Mbappe spot too.

My team
Allison
TAA van Dijk Laporte Robertson
De Jong B.Silva
Sterling Salah Mane
Messi
