When was the last time we saw any of these create a chance with a decent through-ball? Three supposed number 10's in one of the biggest clubs in the world...

Yet other posters here tell me:

Pereira ... could play a deep midfield role where passing the ball accurately is the main job
Do my stats, at least, contradict this fanciful hope?

PS: I was an Andreas fan. By now, I've mostly given up. I can't see a role for him. Not even good enough to be a squad player for United. Not at: #6, #7, #8 nor #10. There are far better players out there earning a lot less than him. United don't move enough of their squad on each summer. A club with such a so-so squad should be bringing in at least 5 players per summer transfer window. If the transfer budget is only £100m/year Ole should bring in cheaper players. Buy more players like James, and fewer like Maguire. When you look outside the big 5 leagues there are plenty of better players than our terrible 3. Either coaching, or tactics are wrong. I think we play Pogba too deep to accommodate an attacking midfielder because the squad balance says we have players who will be good attacking midfielders. They are not good.

You are only as good as your last few games.
People on here say loads of stupid things, but that doesn't change anything

2 of the 3 starting again tonight, can't say I'm optimistic.

Will be a massive difference in our performances when they're no longer in our team...

I understand Lingard starting tonight, he’s got a decent record against Arsenal and Mata and Pereira have been awful he deserves a start.

Pereira though? He’s about as average as it gets. He tries his best but he’s just not good enough. He must be the worst regular starter for any top 6 side by a mile.

He makes no sense at all. But the way people used to rave about him was like he was some kind of Iniesta Xavi mix in the making.

Now I've had more time to dwell on Pereira and Lingard taking up the no.10 and RW spots tonight, I'm enraged. Has Solskjaer seriously been paying attention to our season so far? His team selections are so consistently bad.

If we play 4231 were fcked. I think 433 with Pereira deeper rather than RW suits him better. And it allows Pogba to push up further and closer to the strikers. And it pushes Lingard away from 10.

Gomes as a 10, Greenwood on the right? Play Pogba as the furthest forward out of a midfield 3 and play McTominay + Matic/Fred behind him? Just something different to this set up that has failed miserably every time so far this season. We can get away playing one passenger in attack but two just fecks us up.

Greenwood can't get a start ahead of those 3 with Martial injured. Ruthless Ole trusting the youth!

We might not be top 6 for much longer... as much as I hate saying it

Absolutely honking, these lads. Our entire front four (James aside) wouldn’t look out of place playing in one of Ferguson’s old League Cup third round sides.

Imagine if we had good players in place of Lingard and Pereira?

If Pereira was English he would be in class of the Gibsons, etc. Cleverley was far more useful footballer. And I am usually on the other side of these English/Brazilians discussions.

At least Andreas is trying and putting effort in.

Lingard is just anonymous.

Pereira pressing is impressive though. In that regard, I can see the sense in picking him.

Lingard is just getting worse. If that's possible.

Andreas has tekkers, but he lacks pace and constantly hesitates with his decision making. There is a player in there.

Sort of makes sense. We need someone who can make that impact from the bench and if we don't have Greenwood we have nobody.
All his good performances have come from him starting, all his ineffective ones have come from the bench. Greenwood has shown he's much more effective when he has a full game to make an impact. I see the point about having someone on the bench to change things, but that isn't Greenwood's style as proved so far.

None of them belong in the squad but Pereira is always trying. Lingard though has been hiding. Not enough movement to receive a pass, knowing he wont get the ball when he has a defender on him he keeps asking for it

I don't really agree, he's never going to be that guy who hangs on to the ball so he'll always look out of the game a bit.

Many times on pre-season he's come from the bench and taken his chance.

To be fair to Periera, he gives his all. Lingard's spent 45 minutes hiding.

Yeah it's pretty obvious why he's been picked and he has had our only other decent shot on target(other than the goal).
Still think him and Lingard are squad players we are in such a bad way they're starters.

There's no logical reasoning behind playing Pogba in a midfield two just to accommodate a player like Lingard at #10. Its beggars belief how he cannot see Lingard is utter garbage and hides on the pitch. :houllier: On Pereira, it's staggering how he went from not even getting into team last year to playing almost every match in PL this season. He somehow even managed to meg himself to setup Arsenal on the break.

A switch back to 433 with some proper footballers instead of Lingard and Pereira would make us a much more dangerous side.

You could walk into any pub, find a guy with a wanker haircut and he’d probably be as good as Pereira.

Mata is done. Don’t know how he even get a new contract.

Lingard is getting worse & worse. If he can’t even shine in Arsenal game which a game that he likes then there is no future for him.

Pereira offers nothing. He’s not quick, not strong, & his control of the ball sometime let us down. Although, he’s the one who’s done the best out of these 3 this season.

I'm sorry but you can't put Pereira with these two.

I don't think Pereira's good enough but he actually tries things. Mata and Lingard just constantly pass off the responsibility with easy sideways passes.

Pereira....wow

fecking useless. I’d honestly prefer Cleverley.

What is he doing in games and training to get picked every week?

Pereira, James & Lingard should be part of the rotation. They shouldn’t be relied on week in week out. Relying on zero end product players is the reason we are incapable to score & create chances.

Mata should have gone in the summer! And we should have find a replacement for him. There were Bruno or Felix or even Ceballos available and we offered Mata a new contract instead.

Biggest problem in our team right now. None of the 3 10:s in our squad are anywhere near good enough to be considered starting players. When Pogba comes back he should be starting in this position.
