As awful as expected really. We don’t seem to even have a 1st gear these days. Weakened team I know, but that was just painful. I don’t see any progression whatsoever.

Are they being coached at all in training? There seems to be no evidence of any moves or plays in our build up.

Boring. Not surprised. More like a set up for a Haribo Cup game than Manchester United ;European pioneers and swashbucklers

Result probably a bonus given the side we put out - some of these may have been the ones that were not supposed to be part of Solskjaer's journey to the success.

Incoming. Mention of 'AstroTurf', clear signs of development, youngsters fitting in well and working hard.

Deary me. :houllier:

I felt this in my soul. I hate they way we play and that so many matchgoing fans are alrite with this mediocrity.
I was a teen the last time I felt we played like a team with quality!

Since the summer of 09 in not replacing Ronaldo and Tevez it's just got worse and worse.

The playing surface was quite frankly a joke. A point is ok.

Ahead of the weekend, Steve Bruce is telling his players these are the games we have to be winning if we want to survive.

The last 6 and a bit years have been shocking, yet I've still watched every game. Through Moyes hopelessness, to the snorefest of LvG, to Jose's defensive mixture of all of the above. Yet this for me is worse than the lot, and I've missed huge parts of the last few games out of sheer apathy. We're still toothless, we're still hopeless, we're still boring. Only this time we don't have the glimmer of hope that anything will change any time soon. We've got a rookie manager and he's here to stay.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
You'd think kids like Greenwood and Gomes will at least play with some enthusiasm, run around more, press.
But no, they were worse than Mata and Matic.
Not making excuses for them but the entire club mentality is shocking.... players and coaches.

I think Oles nice guy persona isn't helping, some of the senior players are shite and/or lazy and there are no examples for the younger players. No-one who sets a standard and says "match this".

Whether Ole stays or goes, we need 8-10 players. Considering the money we've spent over recent years, that's a huge indictment on how much we've wasted.

Grim.

If we get turned over by Liverpool (3 or more), I can see Ed acting.

Easy money for their goalkeeper. Hard work for our lads though. Trying to make themselves look worse than the previous game. Quite a feat.

Boring 0-0 but let's be honest neither team looked like scoring. When Rashford, Mctominay and Lingard came on thought United showed how much better they were and I have no doubt that the first team will brush AZ aside at OT with ease.

Regarding tonight; Fred and Matic are awful. No movement. Mctominay came on and embarrassed the pair of them.

Enjoyed seeing Brandon Williams and thought he was lively. Rashford also looked sharp along with Mctominay. Lindelof was excellent.

God help us if we don't beat Newcastle this weekend.

I know we were dreadful but this kind of kneejerk is really unfair. They're very talented youngsters being asked to not only integrate into, but basically act as the focal point of a really poor team. It's too much too soon.

I'd still prefer Gomes, Greenwood, Tuanzebe, Williams, Garner et al out there than the majority of our overpaid 'Experienced pro' s'

Anyway, terrible watch that. I'll take a point considering AZ are a good team and our starting 11 was really mismatched.
Greenwood has shown talent he can score goals. He is just 17. I see the technique but lack of physicality. So we need to be little patience with him and let him grow physically to compete with men.

Gomes on the other hand I kept saying he is nowhere a good player to start in PL let alone for a club like united. He is a decorated academy Fred. Trickery without technique. I hope he improves in next 3-4 years but I don't have high hope. This is the age player usually have low maturity, physical attribute but the technique should be there, like what we see in Greenwood.

Seriously if United still wants to build the team from a bunch of these youth. United will never win anything and get relegated.

That was absolutely atrocious.

This just might be the worst United squad ever assembled.
Genuinely bottom half of the table level of ability in the Man Utd team.

But did anyone expect any better? We sold our top goalscorer and lost our second best midfielder on a free and replaced them with kids.

MAYBE they can improve but I don't know anymore. They couldn't get past Ron fecking Vlaar hahaha

Did we actually have a formation? There are fluid front 3’s/4’s that confuse the opposition. This fluid formation seemed to confuse our younger players.

For long stretches, we had no-one in the box while we attacked. No wonder we had no shots on goal.

AZ is a fairly decent team in Holland. PSV and especially Ajax are miles better though. United played against a club with a turnover of 25 million. AZ had more chances. Terrible performance from United.

90 minutes I'll never get back. Probably not the worst point in the world really but 0 shots on target says it all.

Thanks for taking one for the team. I opted to continue working and could not be bothered to find a stream.
I turned it off after half an hour, then came back for the last 15. Why, I'm not quite sure.

Ole does not seem to grasp that. You bring kids into a good settled side, not this sh*tshow. It will do them more damage than good.
Agree with that. I'm all for playing the young lads I love them coming through. However playing them in this way is going to crush their confidence.

Not looking good at the moment. I wanted ole to be successful I think he will be sacked after the liverpool game in a couple of weeks.

Problem is where on earth does that leave us with the current shambles.

Utter utter rubbish.

The 4-0 vs Chelsea feels ages ago already.
The run under Ole as caretaker feels like a lifetime ago already.

Good result I think.. Matic was good, De Gea was brilliant and the rookie Williams played well and got some heat which he handled like a professional.. Too bad Lingard pulled the hamstring, what he needs is everyday practice..

Worse than Moyes.

You can laugh all you want at that infamous game where Moyesy instructed us to cross the ball about 80 times, but we were at least attacking and attempting SOMETHING in that game. Watching Ole's United is like watching that United without the crosses. There is NOTHING to see at all.

You do not need top-class players to get shots on target, I'm fekcing sorry, you do not - if you did, teams like fecking Newcastle would never have a shot on target in any of their games. This lies squarely with the manager and coaching staff - worse clubs with worse players have shots on target during 90mins of football.

To go to Alkmaar, maybe the 3-4th best team in the mediocre Dutch league and be completely schooled in terms of attacking football (and may I add, an Alkmaar team featuring a fair few youngsters so we can forget that excuse as well) while not even having a shot on target is unacceptable, sorry. Completely unacceptable.

He's got to go. I'm done, he's got to go.

I just dont get it.

Are these players just incapable of attacking or is the management just so afraid to lose.

There are far lesser teams out there who have players and managers that play way more attacking football so why is it so difficult for us ?

Ole comes in and said he will change things, but this is exactly the same as previous managers.

I dont care how poor the players are, they can still play attacking football even if they are crap at it.

It's soul-crushing how tedious and boring most of our games have been for the last six years. It's very hard to find any joy in this post-Fergie United: lethargic, clumsy, bland... There’s just so little to be excited about.
Even last years under SAF was even boring football, especially away euro games.

So we just kept a clean sheet with dalot, lindelof, rojo and Mitchell in defense but still cant get a goal to save our lives and down to the bare bones.

Is this not evidence that Ole got the priorities wrong with how he spent the money knowing full well lukaku was more than likely going and still had no right winger.

The club board deserve this, they have created this shambles. They will sack Ole and whoever comes in will be left with that inept midfield.
