Usually Liverpool are a bit scared playing at OT, and go by the match on a counter, but this time Klopp will send them out with a full attack mentality.

They got nothing to be scared about and will batter us by 3 or more. Our midfield and backline cant handle that intense pressure and our forwards cant hold on to the ball.

This will be men vs boys

Our only realistic chance of getting a result against them is if we're at full strength and able to deploy our most effective strategy - being that of counter-attacking. It's highly unlikely Klopp will adopt a 'full attacking mentality'. He's not a fool.

Just park the bus and pick a team who are best at bus parking.
Given our poor form, my aim would be to go for a draw. Frustrate LFC and hit them on the break.
LFC will score at least 1 goal, so we need to score 1 goal (on the break).

Irrespective of the result I am sure that Ole will find and highlight the positive things.

    Klopp ended Jose's MUFC career.
Is it possible that he could also end Ole's MUFC career?
if that would be the case then remove the trinity and put a monument of the man instead.

Greenwood shouldn't be considered for a 'fight to get fit'.
He's a inexperienced kid. We shouldn't be relying on him yet.
    Oh god.
    Agreed 100%.
To think that we are now relying heavily on a teenager, with very little first team experience, to return from injury and play against the current league leaders is insane. But that's how far we have fallen. Our other attackers are useless and can't score a goal between them.

It's been a long time in the making; Klopp just happens to be again at the right place at the right time (one for the football cliches thread that)!

Greenwood should be in and around the u23 squad. Next season possibly send him out on loan.
He shouldn't of been thrown in at this point when the first team squad is in the apparent toxic mess it currently is.
United dont have a fecking clue in what they're doing.

We might get a point out of those. We'll sit back and occasionally try something almost resembling a counter attack.
Question is. If we somehow manage to get something out of this game... like a 0-0 because let's be honest we aren't going to score a goal... Will this save Ole's job for another few weeks?

I’m a bit nervous we will get a proper spanking here.

As long as our boys play with a bit of bite and determination and not get humiliated, I will be content.

This Pool team luck is so high that if they get thrown in front of alligators, it will be a day when alligators have an upset tummy.
So we are not even going to get dumb luck

I think, somehow, this game may not turn out as badly as some may justifiably antipate (me included!).

Don't ask me why... it makes no sense, but it is just a feeling.
I've got that same feeling. It's not logical, but I can't help but think you'll get a result, probably a scrappy 2-1 win despite being under the cosh for the entire second half.

They lost the title to us last season. They played against us like are the United of old and looked like they were wary of us. I'm hoping they haven't learnt thier lesson cos if they play us like they do most teams we will get a spanking. We will be lucky holding out for a draw. If Martial and Pogba play...heck it's football, crazy sht happens.

No they didn't because they drew to Leicester after the United game.
The title match was the game against City not United.

The fear of humiliation will probably keep the players alert and they will show some determination. Of course, the initial enthusiasm will start deteriorating since we've no well-functioning plan and we're second most easily dispossessed side in the league (which is what Klopp likes to face week in and week out).

From that point onward, the level of our deterioration will determine whether we'll see a spanking more than anything else. For example, Liverpool are probably the best side in the world at dead-ball situations. If we start positively by trying to give them a fight and they score from their first set-piece, we may collapse as we're very low on confidence and we don't have much experience as it is.

But i don't think they'll play with their foot on the gas pedal for 90 minutes because they see an opportunity to destroy us. Sadly, they are so good atm, that this is simply 3 more points in the bag towards the big goal and with a European game in 3-4 days to consider. We used to do the same under Ferguson. They way they geared down at SB after going 2-0 up speaks volumes of their confidence and that they don't need to humiliate anyone. They already feel like they're the best team in the world, they're just looking to add trophies to their cabinet next May.

I think he will. Its a chance to demolish us. Its not Mourinho he is up against... Its Ole

Anyone here get a feeling we'll trash them like when they were here 2 years ago and Rashford turned TAA?

Look at that score prediction chart... frankly, we should all be ashamed.

Seriously... 15% of the Caf think we'll win this game? How are we letting such wishful thinking fester!? It can't be helpful.

Doesn't matter how badly we've been playing over the years I've always felt confident we could pull something out of the bag in this one. For the first time ever that feeling has got up and gone.

Had the same feeling at anfield last year but for home games yeah - honestly considering avoiding it.

We used to have that feeling in the 90s but it almost always was false confidence. It's turned for me recently where I'm now never confident when we play you. Even when we won 3-0 when you had Moyes, I was really nervous in the build up to that game. Doesn't matter how poorly one of us is playing, form doesn't matter. No idea on the result but a draw is probably a safe bet

Nah. This year you'll be taking the gloating rights. We've always had someone who could pull something out of the bag for us since SAF retired. Rooney, RVP even feckin Fellaini. Now we've got a 17 year old, Rashfart who had a footballing brain lobotomy a while back, Martial who is so lazy he can't be bothered getting off the treatment table and beanz beanz beanz Lingard but don't worry. Next year will be our year:D

I used to feel like that when we were rubbish and played you at your best at Anfield. Always felt like we could rise to the occasion.

That's the doubt I have for this game, that you'll raise yourselves up for a game against us. If you do then we might end up losing.

We deffo need to change formation. I'd go 352 personally and get bodies in the middle. Hoping Martial and Pogba are fit as it seems Shaw and AWB will be. I think Rashford needs dropping as he doesn't look bothered. I'd play James up with Martial to help on the counter. Win the ball and try and play him through, use his pace like Traore did against City. Have Matic just sitting behind to cover the back 3 and limit his workload.

    James Martial

    Shaw Pogba Mctominay AWB
    Matic
    Maguire Lindelof Tuanzabe

    De Gea

Won't happen cause Ole is a shithouse but I think playing like that would help us out a lot. Defence is stronger, bodies in midfield, no wingers since we have none, helps us play on the counter, allows Pogba the opportunity to get forward if needed. Thoughts?

I suspect that we will setup to "disrupt" them. But our players are too dumb so our midfielders and one or two defenders will pickup yellows within the first 15 mins and then be afraid to touch Salah and co for rest of the game while they run a riot.

I wouldn't worry, we've got Ole at the wheel. But you never know. We might just get a result after the international break because the players will come back better coached  be afraid be very afraid.

I empathize but also find pity in those being slightly optimistic. We aren't going to be "nicking" shit. We won't be "rising to the occasion" or pulling a damn thing "out of a bag." We will be shit and lose.
