You're not convinced Liverpool fans would gladly trade their Champions League in for the Carabao Cup and the Europa League?
I'm sure they didn't sleep one night since their archrivals won one more Cup and they have to make do with only a mere CL.

Such a limited post.

He took over a team which wasn't his and took them to the Europa league final in the first year along-with the league cup final (which they lost on penalties). [15/16]

The second season (his first full one) they went from 8th position to 4th. [16/17]

Klopp's second season, they finished 4th again and reached the final of the Champions league. [17/18]

In the subsequent season, they ended the league 2nd, losing by 1 point (97 pts). Ended up winning the Champions league. [18/19]

Started this season with a 100% win rate and a UEFA Super cup under his belt.

If us as fans would have not seen that improvement and not had patience with him if he performed at the same level with us, then we're equally to blame for the current situation the club is in.
Thank you. Finally a post to end all that bullshit about our fanbase being impatient.
Klopp's time at Pool can't even be compared to the shit Ole is doing here.

Because apart from the lack of silverware at the beginning of his tenure he actually let Pool play attractive, attacking, hard pressing football.

If we saw ANY progression or direction in our football people would show more patience with Ole and probably would forgive him for bringing us almost to the relegation zone (although I doubt that would happen if we played attractive football). But there is no sign of that. None. If anything we are regressinf with every passing minute he is our manager.

It is hilarious, but to show you how batshit crazy this place is, I can pull up posts up to the eve of the CL final that still had question marks over Klopp. Now this same place proclaims him the best manager in the world. We all know who this thread would be about if the result was different that Saturday.

Saying that Klopp should have been hired is classic hindsight when juxtaposed by how the Caf viewed Klopp after his departure from Dortmund, and leading up to last season.

Wait so that first season 8th place finish everyone's been quoting wasn't even a full season? Talk about disingenuous.

No, you're falsely equating some people who posted one thing with other people are posting other things. It happens a lot online.

the only thing cringeworthy is this post. the state of it.

we would love the guy if he was United manager, particularly if he had brought the success he has brought Liverpool. end of story. to think otherwise is utter delusion.
Yeah and many here also love the idea of Poch being United manager, despite being a serial loser so caf opinion means feck all really

Where in the post you quoted, did you infer that I'm assuming all posters on the Caf think the same?

I do know how the majority thought though. It wasn't fawning over him after the Dortmund departure. Or the CL final loss.

Should have hired so many other managers and signed so many other players, let's merge this with the Jurgen Klopp watch thread.

I would seriously rather be shit than have that chump in charge with his rehearsed “quirky” quotes and cringeworthy interviews.

This is not because he is Liverpool manager, it’s because he is an awful human.
Awful human ? That's really stretching it. This is football mate. I hate him because he's Pool's manager and his quotes are annoying, but I doubt he's an "awful human" away from the pitch and pressers. Don't take sports matters personal.

You have no idea what you are talking about. None. You don't know the guy at all and you call him an awful human?
Have you seen any interviews about him when he is talking about his personal life? He seems a great guy.
Cringe in some of his interviews and a bit whiney when things don't go his way but an honest guy that hasn't forgotten where he came from. And you call him is an awful human. Jesus Christ.

I don't like his personality, but he's a great manager. We'd be lucky to have him.

Tailor made for the Scouses. He’s done a good job for them but no-never for me. Final season collapse in Germany was spectacularly bad and that reminds me of how bereft he became for ideas under severe pressure. A fair weather builder who has made good from an average squad and had some strong strategic buys. I think he would struggle to reconcile his freestyle character within a corporate (read money first) club like us. We would need an understanding DoF in place to give him the freedom. Woody prefers compliance in all things and that has become our leitmotiv more’s the pity.
 Yeah, why would we want a manager who has a knack for winning trophies, playing beautiful entertaining football, and by all accounts is a fantastic person outside of football.

Again, the final season collapse is another bullshit spouted. The injuries his team suffered in the first half of the season derailed his season, in addition to a very poor conversion of chances-to-goals and defensive howlers from the likes of Hummels. Despite being around the relegation zone, they ended up 7th and in the final of the German cup. Keep in mind all of this with his best players being poached by bigger clubs.

If you've followed him at Liverpool, you will notice that he has been more pragmatic as a manager. One may even say he's evolved. Last season, his team was built on a solid defensive foundation (best defence in the league, I think) which carried them to the final of the CL too. In scenarios where they needed to play an attacking game, he has taken off the bridle and let his attack have a go.

Finally, he left a legacy at Dortmund. Tuchel came in and clearly benefited from the style and structure established by Klopp. Even their CEO Watzke admitted that the biggest mistake was letting Klopp go. In hindsight, he would have rather rebuilt his team completely.

But yes, keep deluding yourself with the idea that he wouldn't work at our club. Klopp works in a corporate structure at Liverpool too. He works in tandem with their sporting director, and has to report to a CEO (similar to Dortmund). By all accounts, he is versatile and adjustable to work on a project which he finds interesting.

FYI, the manager who has won the most trophies since SAF retired also almost relegated his team which was built at a much bigger cost than Klopp's Dortmund.

When Klopp took over Liverpool were fckin poor. He had to buy in order to challenge for titles and CL's

Had Hughes or whatever been manager they would have gotten relegated. They had to bring in the right person.

Liverpool were on the verge of of playing in the championship before Klopp was appointed.

Don't lose hope. We'll see this pleasing on the eye football with Erik ten Hag, too. Secure him before Barcelona nabs him. Or worse... spurs will land him.

The irony being that if you lot had hired him, most of us Liverpool fans would have found him to be a detestable, gurning cnut and you lot would be hailing him as one of the best managers in the world! Instead, it's the other way round. The fickleness of football fans eh? :D

Pains me to say it given who you supported but damn, you hit the nail on the head with that comment and best reply that could be given on the matter. Still I'm hoping I can still say start of next season 31 and counting

Klopp reminds me of our failings at United. He is the very living embodiment of what we should, could and failed to do. If Klopp was manager of any other English club it would be bearable, but the fact that he is Liverpool manager is utter torture and the fact that he has such an expressive and exuberant personality just twists the knife. He has done in four years what United are no closer to doing in six and what we might not even be able to do for the foreseeable future. It is painful, it just is.

The thing that is undeniable about Klopp is that he has credibility. He had a track record before he arrived at Liverpool and since then he has created a blueprint for rebuilding that seems to be widely accepted as they way it should be done. It is hard to argue much with his footballing philosophy, tactical awareness, talent management and ability to produce results.

Obviously, I would have loved him to be at this club. In fact I would go as far as to say that if he does go on a 12 month sabbatical and wants to return to English football, I for one would want him to be considered for the United job (especially if we are performing at the levels we have been in the post SAF ear).

His touchline antics aren’t looked upon half as favourably if he’s in charge of us instead of ‘pool.

I don't get why Klopp would supposedly struggle in a "corporate structure' (as if other clubs don't have that).
He's every PR departments wet dream, at each of his clubs fans were devoted to him during and after his time there.
He's got around half a dozen TV commercials in Germany even after leaving for England.
He may be 'cringe' sometimes, but rarely in a nasty way, that causes real controversy.

Unfortunately Woody from Toy Story sold us as some kind of mickey mouse organisation and Klopp rightfully told him to stick his offer to manage the club.

We missed a trick. Embodies everything this club is about. Instead we've faffed around with managers who were not suited to the club and now we've gone down the route of appointing a club legend. Worked great when Liverpool did it with Dalglish and Newcastle hired Shearer.
the bloke hasn't won a title he would not be suited to our ethos great entertainment for fans who like to watch managers rather than the game but with no titles what would he have brought to the club ? he definitely couldn't have won a European cup with the squad we had he hasn't got that sort of talent

Such entertaining football. Kagawa in the middle of so much of that. :(
