The first Liverpool goal vs Salzburg was a sight to behold. This is the kind of goal which team in its full pomp scores. Just look at that run and the beautiful one two between Mane and Firmino, the kind of goals we used to score with Ronaldo Rooney and Tevez or Barcelona during MSN days. Also goes to show what good coaching can do to players. It hurts even more when watching our greatest rivals doing everything right.

How many of you guys could do this?? Be honest
I can't. But it's a positive side-effect of one-footedness. If you're sufficiently two-footed, there's no need for a rabona. It does look good though.

Saw a stat that since the start of last season (or the year before) Firmino has the most assists in the CL.

Still think he needs to add a few more goals but Mane & Salah do provide that pretty well.

He has his strengths and weaknesses, but there arent many if any better at linking up with other front players and getting them in goalscoring positions

Exactly I believe when Liverpool’s front three require the eventual upgrade (or change due to players being sold) Klopp would keep Firmino and replace Salah/Mane

He's like Benzema was for Ronaldo, fantastic at linking up and getting the other in goalscoring positions.

People say he's a striker but he's actually a Number 10 and Liverpool basically play the 90's tactics on coke (4-3-1-2). Because Salah and Mane don't really track back that much.

He is also the reason we have an effective press. He leads the pack. The defensive side of his game

is second to none for an attacking player. He is a true monster. This season his link-up play has gone a gear up too.

Salah and Mane don’t need to track back when they are pressing the team constantly.

Exactly, people should stop saying he's a false 9 who likes to drop back. He's a 10 than likes to join the attack occasionally.

No but when the other team has long spells of posession, Mane and Salah are rarely helping out the full back, that's why the 3 center midfielders have to run much more than usual.

It really is very similar to the classical 4-3-1-2 with the number 10 entering the box. It's a re-interpretation of 90s football.

And the opposing fullbacks really have to make a decision whether to attack or not because Salah and Mane aren't getting deep into their own halves and it must be terrifying. Because they dont track back there are a lot of 1v1 situations when they regain posession

It’s a very good system. Allows the team to play possession football.

In a world of my own. People know me here.
Thought he was a bit 'meh' in his first season under Rodgers. But thanks to the signings of Mane & Salah we've really seen what he's capable of. Doubt he'd be anywhere near as effective for another club if he didn't have a couple of talented strikers alongside him.

Bobby is a 1 in 3 striker, not that prolific but he is very unselfish in the way he plays in his teammates. He does get a fair amount of assists.

You need to have other goal scoring options especially as wingers for Firmino to work. Not if you have goal shy wingers like Willian

Sad to see him go but his importance dropped off a couple of years ago. Seems to only do well if the team is performing but then again he fell behind Salah, Mane, Diaz and Jota last season. He did step up with some goals earlier this year but his performances are very hit and miss now. He came on in a game recently (Newcastle I think) and was able to do some really good stuff on the ball, then messed up simple 5 yard passes.

Reckon he ends up at Barcelona or somewhere like that.

At his peak, probably Klopp's most important player. He made their attack tick.

Couldn't agree more. He linked their midfield up with the forward line and scored some important goals for them. Only 31, could do well in Italy for a few seasons, I reckon.

Another one that Klopp has run ragged. He is 30, but his legs say he is 35.

One of the most overrated players I can recall in my time watching the PL.
