If we've learned anything from the Falcao, Sanchez, and Schweinsteiger signings its that we should stay away from declining big name players.

Sanchez 2.0 written all over it
I don't necessarily think so.

Sanchez played like crap for Arsenal for months and we all just assumed he had downed tools while trying to force through his big money move (to either us or City). Nobody (myself included) believed we were watching a committed Sanchez fighting for the Arsenal cause in his final several months there. I think pretty much everyone assumed, once he got his move, he'd be back to his very best for his new club.

Bale still looks quality in the appearances he's made for Madrid this season. The problem is the costs of the deal would be astronomical, he's injury prone, he's certainly approaching the twilight of his career, and we've pissed away so much money that it's almost impossible to imagine taking a punt on Bale now.

The obsession with Bale on here is frigging bizarre.

It's never happening. Thank god.

We obviously need to avoid any sort of commitment to him, as we have only just started trying to get the colossal financial burdens off our shift!

However, noone can tell me that when on the pitch that he isn't a better option than anyone we have on the right side of attack, or a better bet than 18 year old Greenwood off the bench!

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Would be instantly Utd best player
Only if he's hungry enough to prove it. I'd expect him to be brilliant for a month or two, but then drop away as the eagerness to prove himself (and prove Real wrong) would drop.

I was a big fan of Bale and I do think many underrate how good he was, but I hope we aren't going anywhere near him these days.

Would take him on loan for the second half of the season if no other deals were on the cards but definitely not for any longer than that. You can argue about how he has been treated badly at Real but the whole laughing on the bench or threats to see out his contract on the golf course are hallmarks of the kind of player you don't want when the chips are down.

No doubting his quality but its not what we need.

Annoyingly, us signing him now makes more sense than at any other point over the last few years. But because of the links with former managers and "directions" I doubt we'll go for him.

Another Sanchez in the making.
He didn't want us at his prime, he can finish his career in China.

Getting Bale in January on a Loan Deal is a no brainer to play right wing and let's be honest he's way above what we have in that area now - we have absolutely nothing down that side as an attaching force.

A proven goal scorer and real threat from free kicks in place of the garbage we have now.

A huge incentive for either a permanent move or China it is then !

No thanks, on loan maybe, purchase nope. £600K a week and wants £1M a week for a injury prone 30 year old winger. 4 years ago, yes, now, no.

On a free, with a pay as you play contract maybe. Other than that, hell no.

Why are people dismissing a move for him? He would instantly improve us, has a point to prove and whilst his wages would be high you would still have instead of sanchez and for less wages.
We need players who can do soething with the ball other than passing it sideways and back, we need some invention, some flair and Bale ticks this box, his scoring record for madrid is excellent.
If as suggested we are going to throw 250k a week at Mandzukic, then surely we would be better off with Bale.

If we can get him for a steal its well worth a punt. But that just isn't going to happen. We'd be looking at Sanchez-esque money to get him here.

the exit options, both sale and loan (the loan paying us half of the wages seems very unlikely) should have been made in August, not now when it would mean losing options in attack.
On the other hand, United have not shown any interest these past months

I think he showed yesterday that he´s still a quality player. Unless Sancho is signing, I would not mind Bale.

Yes, he may be quality right now, but committing to crazy wages for years would be absolute madness because he could fall off a cliff at any time. I hope Ed has learned, and everything is pointing towards that.

Don't want him. It's short-term and he's liable to get injured, even without our 'brilliant' medical team looking after him. Just look at Pogba!
