Now, according to the wonderful Sun, we are interested in the "new Pirlo" Sandro Tonali... has anyone seen anything of him?

Talented player, not sure if suited to PL however wouldn’t mind signing him if not expensive. We need numbers in midfield
Juve must be all over him though

This game doesn't crap out a Pirlo very often, if the guy has the potential to even be half the player Pirlo was we should be all over him.

I only start believing this when Tribalfootball start reporting on it.

I’ve seen him play a few times and got 19 years old he has pretty much everything you could ask for. Juventus bound if the italianpapers are to be believed though.

quality player, also very direct and looks suitable for EPL.

His passing stats look pretty poor this season for a supposed pass master.

Avg passes per 90 - 40
Successful short passing - 76%
Successful long passing - 41%

Apparently the Pirlo comparisons are because he plays for the same club Pirlo played for and because he stands at the near post for corners.

We have been linked to this kid from Brescia. Has been likened to a cross between Pirlo and Gatusso. Is already a full International. Heard about him last season and have seen him play this year and was seriously impressed. Is a deep lying play maker but can play as an 8 as well. Is only 19 but is 6ft and has a great physique for a teenager and wouldn't have any problems fitting in EPL from that perspective.

The current President bought the club for €6.5m in 2017.
I've always wondered how this works, you often see players priced at close to or above club value, but could controlling companies ala Red Bull not just buy the club in that case and facilitate a transfer that way?

I'm sure there are myriad rules to stop this happening but I'd be interested in hearing from somebody how knows more about this weird imbalance.

Looks a real prospect, rarely see Italians move to foreign clubs though, especially the top players who always end up at either of the Milan clubs, Juve or Napoli.

Nope because that's only part of the equation.

What if the club is making losses each year? Or if the club has a lot of debt?

The sale of one player will have an impact but there's more to it than that. Also there is no way this kid goes for 300 million, more like 30-50 million

I also have been described as a cross between Pirlo and Gattuso.

I run like Pirlo and pass like Gattuso.

Club probably runs at a loss and has few tangible assets. I'd guess players as assets are hugely volatile given valuation fluctuations and that they can leave for club for nothing if they want.

Could James Garner be our version, given a chance in the first team? Don't get me wrong I know it's easier for Tonali to play for Brescia, rather than come through and play for a team like United but given the raves about Garner, I feel we could save some money there. Tonali does look the spit of Pirlo mind.

Will end up at Juve or Milan for about 25m
Verratti was touted as a generational talent and ended up at PSG. Who knows what will happen but it looks like we are interested which is good.

Fair enough! 30-50 would seem a decent price in today's market.

Can't see it happening though unfortunately, he'll have his pick of Italian clubs you'd imagine.

Tonali is a very talented playmaker, but i think that he wouldn't help Manchester United to regain its shine.

He is at his first year in Serie A, he still needs more experience in his country.

For an italian boy it isn't easy to settle in a foreign country with a differnt kind of football: look at Kean, he looked promising but leaved Italy too early and now he is struggling at Everton.

If we are genuinely interested, then sign this kid asap, before he grows a beard because once that happens his price will quadruple.

I made a thread on him about a year ago and I'm glad he is getting the attention I predicted. Kid has bags of talent and will be snapped up by one of the Italian giants soon.
