Something needs to be done sometime this year. That was the first international break I’ve enjoyed more than the actual football season probably ever.

Our squad is just is appalling atm with the injuries it must be said. Ole is giving me zero faith either. I think a big move will be arranged in advance if we lose to Liverpool.

There could be a raft of great coaches available come the summer in all honesty.

This whole ‘from Manchester’ thing needs kicking in the bud too - we are a huge worldwide club & need to start acting like it. I couldn’t give a toss if a player/coach grew up down the road from OT. A club of our stature deserves and can afford the best.
Hahahaha funny that, I too also enjoyed this international break, never usually do.

Agreed, this who 'Manchester United' thing needs to go. As everyone keeps mentioning them, Fergie wasn't a United man, nor was Busby. We need the best man for what we're trying to achieve as a club. But that is where in lies the problem, what is the club trying to achieve? I know how I'd like to go about things and many others know to but again, that is the problem, everyone has their own ideas as the club give us no indication or direction!

I understand and respect the argument many posters have of Ole not being the best in class at the job. However, I think any manager in the world would struggle to get results with this present squad. It also doesn't help some of our best players have been out for the best part of the season.

Years of scattergun transfer policy and bad management have left United in this situation. A revolving door of management and player changes is what has got us in this situation. There are no guarantees either Ole or any new manager out there who will turn this around any time soon. Patience in massive doses is probably going to be the only solution for us fans over the medium term.

Moyes, LvG, and Mourinho were hardly Manchester United men. LvG and Mourinho were supposed to be best in class. They have actually taken us back many years and money spent by them has shackled future spending.

You're absolutely correct. But this is what I'm saying, what is the direction of the club? How do we know what manager is correct for United, if we don't know what type of football or plan we have?

That’s what I mean too. It made me laugh that our fans were calling for Phelan to come in too because ‘he got United’ when it’s common knowledge our standard dropped after Queiroz departed.

We played incredible football under Queiroz and Maulensteen at times. Apart from magic from RVP we haven’t seen the like since. Fergie understood the United was is winning and going with the times.

I think people have been hurt by our lack of spending in the late Fergie era and the lack of direction since. Man City just buy what they need, coaches, players whoever. There is no ‘City way’ it’s jusy the winning way. We used to be like this but obviously our owners have no ambition to spend like that on the most talented people. Even in the early 00’s we could have won more European cups but obviously we didn’t spend enough. This is just a fact of football unfortunately.

Agreed. When it comes from the top that winning is the first and foremost priority, you see the efects of this like in City and Lfc. It is very evident that our board and owners focus on just the money and this is why we are getting the results of we're getting.

It turns out to make money you actually have to speculate to accumulate in any business. The worst thing you can do is do nothing, like we are doing atm hence why we are so low in the league.

Our top management took over the richest club in the world - focused soley on our brand / riches and now we ain't even the best at that anymore.

When people on here congratulate the Glazers it must be as thieves because they have ran their businesses into the ground over-time. Hardly Steve Jobs / Bill Gates

And they have ran the business putting little/no money of their own into the club.

Patience if we have the right fit. Ole is the polar opposite. Decent signings so far but management is absolutely shambolic.

I agree with this . I don't think Ole will be sacked and even if he was then who the hell will be able to do much more with that piss poor squad .
To be perfectly honest, I said this year would probably be a right off, but the extent of this mess up has left me just baffled at the incompetency at our club and i'm not sure if he should stay or not. I love Ole but he's coming out and saying it was his decision to go into the season with this squad and to wait for the right players to become available and it just seems a terrible error in judgement. I'm pretty sure he also said the club wouldn't buy in the January market and it wouldn't be necessary and he's now saying we might. Again, the planning of this whole season has been a train wreck. I initially thought Ole was covering for Ed's mistakes but i'm not sure and it looks as if the Mandzukic deal is now back on the cards. This is NOT good planning.

With the wrong manager patience can only be a detriment. There are a lot of red flags going off indicating Ole's managerial ability being subpar. As weak as the team is Ole might actually be the weakest link at his role. We simply cannot give him 3 years he hasn't earned. This isnt about results. He needs to start showing some acumen then we can reconsider

Would love to think the next manager can implement an attacking playing style which is why I worry about Allegri.

What I will say is that I just hope whoever it is demands a director of football and a transfer budget figure before accepting the job.

agree with both sides. The squad players, likes of matic and mata and young and co who are now starting games, surely know they are out the door in the next window or two so cant expect much effort there and we know theres no quality.

similarly, i cant watch much more of this singular tactic of trying to play a long ball over the top for james. If we are short of players against liverpool i’d like to see Ole set us up to grind out some sort of result.

love or hate him, mourinho could often do it. We went in at ht two goals down to newcastle last year and came out to win it. After that everyone was screaming for his head. We just lost outright to them with arguably a weaker team and manager.

we also had more points under mourinho after this many games last season.

want to see Ole clearly use some tactics

Yes you’re right. Seeing as there’s no guarantees anyone else could do any better we should give Ole a lifetime contract with this awful soul destroying football. Why even bother trying to get better eh. Let’s accept our lot and forget about any ambition or standards anymore.

It seems that Poch will be sacked before Ole gets sacked and we will appoint him as manager. Spurs playing badly isn't mainly down to Poch but due to players. They did not spend much on the squad and players were moaning to leave last summer which Levy denied.

Poch is a better manager than Allegri if we consider long term. Atleast he can make us top 4 team in the same way he did at Spurs which is needed to attract star players. Once we build a team and he can't win titles, we can go for better manager.

Does anyone seriously believe if Pochettino came in and got us top 4 every year that Ed and the Glazers would eventually sack him to risk trying to win titles with someone else? Not a chance in Hell, stick an oversized jacket on him and the Glazers have their perfect man, Arsenal 2.0 is the best we can realistically hope for under this ownership unfortunately.

Poch would be perfect, but Levy is not stupid, I am pretty sure he wont sack him, but if he does, Ed should do absolutly maximum to get him.

I would take Allegri for a couple of seasons until a Nagelsmann or Ten Haag type manager become available again.

Yes the football from him isn't easy on the eye but at least we would have someone who has the tactical nous and coaching ability at the highest level.

Yeah I know many fans probably won't agree but don't see Poch as a manager in decline, just someone that really wants a new challenge.

I do worry that our useless board wouldn't fully back him but guess only time will tell on that one.

Wouldnt be too fuzz. Any manager worth their salt would have made a deal and some promises before they'd agree to take this poisoned chalice

It depends on poch though. You really cant keep him if he wants out. Contract or no contract realistically when a manager wants out there's no stopping them.

Could keep him contractually but it'll get ugly on the field.

Does anybody really still want Poch? He has never won a trophy and whenever Spurs have had a real chance at winning one they haven't taken it. They are on a miserable run of form for the entire of 2019. The squad there seems broken and the players don't look to be playing for him. If he has lost their dressing room how will he cope with ours which have a habit of hanging the manager out to dry?

What evidence has he actually provided that he is the right man for the job? Yes, he got Spurs playing some good football, but there are a number of players who have regressed under him, and many other senior players now looking to leave the club (I appreciate some of that may be down to financial aspirations).

Poch is very overrated on here. If we gonna hire a trophy less manager I would rather we went for Nagelsmann or someone like that. Yes, Poch is a big upgrade on what we have. But his management record ain’t that impressive.

I'd take a good hard look at Ten Haag if I was Ed Woodward but I hope he doesn't appoint him to pave the way for the Dutchman to take over at Barcelona one day.

True, thats possibility. Poch might step down, because he probably lost the team and they play like United under Mourinho. No passion, no teamplay, no fighting, no nothing.

I'm always impressed by Ajax's football whenever I watch them so target Erik ten Hag in the summer.

In no particular order I would want Julian Nagelsman, Poch, Erik Ten Hag, would be ok with Allegri and I also think Lupategi is a better manager than he's currently getting credit for. If we're further departing from the realm of reality I would put on a party hat and light a cigar if it was Simeone. Out of those names gun to my head I'd be split between Poch and Nagelsman as Simeone imo (maybe I'm wrong?) is a Leicester winning the league sized long shot.

I understand and respect the argument many posters have of Ole not being the best in class at the job.
He is far from best in class. Arguably he is the worst manager in the EPL.
I think Steve Bruce was regarded as the worst, but when we went to Newcastle and they beat us - that put that argument to rest.

However, I think any manager in the world would struggle to get results with this present squad.
Partially true.
Jose got a lot of these players to 2nd place.
Ole joined us and has decided to break up that team (which is correct), but has not replaced key players.

It also doesn't help some of our best players have been out for the best part of the season.
Pogba, Shaw and Martial have been out, but we were losing/drawing even when they were playing together.
3 injuries shouldn't completely derail the season.
The manager should've loaned in midfielders for this season.

Years of scattergun transfer policy and bad management have left United in this situation. A revolving door of management and player changes is what has got us in this situation. There are no guarantees either Ole or any new manager out there who will turn this around any time soon. Well, under LVG, we got 4th and 5th.
Under Jose we got 6th and 2nd.
Under Ole we got 6th and are currently in 8th.

To argue that Ole is doing an "ok" job is ludicrous. Ole is doing a terrible job, BUT Woodward is the guy who needs to be fired. Unless he is fired, the next manager will also struggle.

Is the Premier League ready for its first female manager? I watch a lot of MU Women team on MUTV and have to say Casey Stoney really comes across very well, she has that steeliness that Fergie had, she knows had to build a team and clearly has the respect of all the players.

Have we moved on enough for this? would players want to come and play for a female manager ? are all unanswered questions I know but its going to happen some day...

Im still behind Ole and want him to get at least a couple of seasons, but in the future, only god knows (CR7)
