Juventus seems weaker this year. Their starting-eleven isn't just that good. I think Ronaldo could be a problem as well. He is now just an ordinary goalscorer who will have a problem competing for the top-scorer, and he won't accept this. And this will affect the whole team.

Juventus generation were 2-3 years ago, that was the time for them to win CL, now they just seem like a team without direction still falsely holding on to the idea that this Is the generation and now Is the time for CL. Ronaldo is of course a good addition but he is old and no longer a top 3 player.

This is probably the worst Juventus team for 5 years or so.

Them's the players. If you have lemons you make lemonade, etc etc...

Anyways, there's a lot on the line for juventus hierarchy this season. Agnelli let Paratici and Nedved call the shots, should it blow up in their faces chances are they'll join Allegri
The selection has been off too though, in the easier games Rabiot should be getting more minutes in that midfield instead of Matuidi or Bentancur for example.

In other news, Milan might actually finish in the bottom half of the table. Their next 3 fixtures are Lazio, Juve and Napoli after this. If they don't win tonight I reckon they'll be in the relegation zone after that.

Why is that? That's a weird opinion. I thought it was fairly obvious it's their best squad of the past 5 years nevermind thinking it's the worst. You think they added Higuain, Danilo, Rabiot, De Ligt and got worse from last year?

2014-15 with that Pogba, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio midfield was their best year but I don't even think they're worse than that now.

A manager who sees them training everyday supposedly would know better than us

What they need right now is to win

No way. The 16/17 side was way better than the 14/15 one. Last season's was arguably even better and this season's might be better still

You also had Chiellini who were better during those years, and u had Barzagli. And Buffon.

The midfield also were better imo in terms of technique and, important, experience.

This season Juve is a lot weaker in my opinion. De Ligt has not been good. Ronaldo has been OK. Dybala seems misfitted. Pjanic is good, but Pirlo were more impactful. Vidal added some grit and strength. The Juve of 14/15 were really good, they just lacked some scoring-power.

Now they have added Ronaldo but the problem is they would have need a Ronaldo at 14/15 season. Now they got their old and not as good CR7 but have weakened the team in the midfield at the back. They really lack experience now. Sure CR7 got some experience but he is in spirit still a young boy for good and worse, its not a player to lead a team.

They have been lucky all season. They should have a lot less points then they do right now.
Blatant lie. Just rewatch their game against Inter. They were miles better than them.

And despite that, its just October and they already outplayed Atletico at the Vicente Calderon, beat Napoli, beat Leverkusen 3-0 and beat Inter at San Siro.
Don’t take him seriously, he thinks Fernando Santos is a great manager. Enough said.

Juventus best year is definitely when they have BBBC defense (buffon+BBC) and Pirlo+Pogba+Vidic in their midfield.

Look up 14/15 juventus results and performances, seriously. That was *not* a particularly great team. Vidal was a shadow of himself most of the season, Pirlo got old and was inconsistent, Pogba was amazing but also injured for a good chunk of the season. The defence was good? Sure, but they had Lichsteiner and Evra as fullbacks

You guys keep talking about the midfield but Tevez carried that team on his back for most of the season really

Marchisio was amazing though, i'll give him his due

Compare to their last 3 seasons where they dunked on the league, pissed their CL groups(and pissed their way to the final in 16/17 as well) and were extremely competitive against better sides than they faced all of 14/15

1 game.

Napoli, Hellas Verona, Lecce, Fiorentina, Brescia, Genoa, Bolonha. They lost points in 2 of those games and were lucky not to lose points in the others freak own goal vs Napoli and 95th minute penalty vs Genoa come to mind or even the many missed chances by Verona who deserved at least a draw for the performance they had.

If you think this is "playing good" then we have very different standards for what good is. If the results went the other way like they very well could have then no one would be saying "Juve have been good".

In the end they won and thats all that matters but these performances will catch up with them if they don't start playing better.

Thats @Peyroteo not me.

I did say JJ was good and he is proving that yet again in Brazil as I predicted.

There's several seasons worth of precedent saying they won't

They weren’t playing poorly like they have been recently for those several seasons surely?
Have you seen them? Yes juve has played worst, especially against poor opposition, plenty of years. Every year is the same, juve is playing awful, the title is up for grabs, and at the end of the day juve just do enough to win games.

In truth, no. I haven't regularly watched them in Serie A before last season. I only started taking an interest in Serie A again after Ronaldo joined although I took an interest in it 15 or so years ago.

If that's how it's always been in these title wins then that's interesting..

Yes, there are stretches when they play really good and stretches when they play awfully but still somehow manage to get the 3 points. Usually against top opposition they look better just like this season. The hope was that with sarri that would change, but so far it hasn't.

Watched the Roma game to check out Smalling, Roma played really well. They seem to overload the midfield and dominate the ball, even when they lose it they get it back really well.

Smalling played very well. Seems to play as a more further forward CB at times, I guess they rely on his athleticism to get back if needed. I think having a midfield so busy like Roma's helps Smalling as he barely ever has to pass the ball with his feet.

Way they've played this season is little different from the way they've played in the past 8 seasons

Paulo Fonseca is an excellent coach and is doing good job at Roma.. He needs more backing from the board and from the fans and this team will be in a very good position next year.

What do you think of Zaniolo?

He works hard, is big and can run with force. But his ball control is a bit here and there, didn't seem very technical. Seems like a useful player but would need to see more.

Thanks.

Saw a few matches last season after his breakthrough and thought that he was promising. Personally I would prefer to play him as a midfielder given his style, balanced abilities and physique. While Roma was sh*t in some of the matches, Eusebio approach to attack was basically to give Zaniolo the ball.

Pretty much this, our board are really stingy but the fans like Paulo, it's been a good start overall and we're seeing some good football and a noticeable improvement in defence.

If inter drop points here it is imperative that Juve capitalize and get an important win!

That's huge for Inter, not playing that well but finding a way to win. Stuff you need to do to challenge for the league as Juve win these type of games every other week it seems.
