Quite an enjoyable title race in Scotland this season, the first in the better part of a decade. Celtic qualified for the next stage of the Europa and Rangers almost there, with hugely impressive results against Lazio and Porto respectively.

I know they got a slightly improved tv deal but is there anything else that explains the drastic jump in both clubs European performances? It’s quite impressive.

I think Lennon is benefitting from some great work done by Rodgers.

And Gerrard is proving to be an excellent manager too. It's amazing what a good manager can do for a club!

im from n ireland and we have the whole divide nonsense. I cant stand scottish football, I would have put pictures of Sir Alex in his rangers gear to wind up mates etc.

but tonight the results were good for scottish football but really they should be getting more results like that, their teams are capable to be bottom half in premiership yet they dont really have to push themselves most of the season.

Gerrard and Lennon are in no lose jobs really, they are not expected to do anything in Europe so its all domestic and worst they can do is come 2nd. Managers have went there and done quite well but have got found out when theyve left it ONeill included. Brendan Rodgers has been the best manager the league has had since Sir Alex. Walter Smith, Lennon, mccoist, lambert etc have all tried elsewhere but found out.

Both Gerrard and Lampard have made good starts to their managerial careers. Can imagine Gerrard is looking at Lampard in charge of Chelsea and itching for the Liverpool job. Not saying other managers don't put effort in but with those two I can imagine them being pretty meticulous and absolutely putting in 100% to the job.

I don’t know, when Gerrard first signed for Rangers the Celtic fans on here were certain that they’d get nowhere near them but they have.

A lot of their rivalry is hyped up media invention. If they lost the league, most Celtic/Rangers fans wouldn't mind seeing the other team win it.

Two revolting teams who I hope are never allowed into the English Football League.

You know, there are those who might point out a certain strand in the CFC image which has historically been unappealing. And is that the same AFC Wimbledon whose supporters once attached themselves to Wimbledon FC, a team whose players deliberately set out to injure the opposition? You my son live inside the biggest fecking glass house since The Crystal Palace burnt down in 1936.

Are you for real?

Every Celtic fan I know hates Rangers with a passion and vice versa.

Only a small section of our fanbase has those views now. Unlike Celtic where the majority of them still chant pro IRA songs and Rangers who chant equally terrible songs about Catholics. Its no coincidence that the most scummy people I've encountered following Chelsea away have thick Scottish accents and Rangers tattoos. Both of those clubs disgust me and I hope they continue to be banished to their pigshit league for the foreseeable.

As for your nonsense on Wimbledon - we don't 'attach' ourselves to Wimbledon FC, we are the old Wimbledon FC. Your captain of the Treble winning season was just as much of a thug as any player in Wimbledon's history - are you ashamed that he played for your club?

After a beaker of the south, I sometimes weep for his sins.
As for your nonsense about Wimbledon, the 'real' old Wimbledon FC now ply their trade in Milton Keynes. You are merely a fake Womble dummy-spitting prince of bel twat.
And as for your nonsense about Chelsea, why if i were a Scotsman reading this site, I'd think you most offensive.

Its the Europa league groups...... they are doing ok but not exactly the big time, and long odds against them making the final.
I would tend to support a 3rd Scottish team to beat either in Scotland. Feel negative towards both teams with marginal preference for Rangers. Celtic I cant stand. The Irish flags with IRA etc is just unbelievable.

I went to a Celtic European match last year and all 5 Celtic pubs I went to had IRA music playing in them. Do you know how many times I've even heard Chelsea fans chant far right songs? I'll give you a clue, it's less than one. Anyone who thinks that it's just a small minority of fans who chant those disgusting things need their heads checked.

5 celtic pubs represent majority of their fan base. I think you're the one who needs a head check.

They must have been the only 5 in the city then. Strange that.

You're right. You made a wide, far reaching survey into Celtic fan base and made some good conclusions. In 5 pubs.
I give up, you win.

I will never give up telling anyone who is unaware just how horrible that club is. I couldn't care less about your patronising remarks.

I’m interested if you’re so aggrieved at that pro IRA because of the Chelsea Headhunters affiliation with Norther Irish loyalists? You could also fill a few pubs with the chelsea fans filmed singing anti Semitic songs, ‘we’re racist and we like it’ and carrying SS flags. However obviously we know that the entire club and it’s fan base aren’t that terrible, but if I want to follow your line of logic of attributing a minority view to a club as a whole I’m going to have to say that they are. Thereby calling you an anti-Semitic unionist racist. See the issue here?

Good job on the attempted smear in your first sentence, even after I criticised both clubs conduct. If you were to really try hard, do a bit of research and find the couple of pubs where the knuckleheads of our club go to drink then yes, you'll find them there with all of their disgusting flags. I have never come across any other clubs in the UK where it's actually difficult to not hear racist and biggotted songs from the fans. My first experience of watching an Old Firm game was at one of the main Celtic pubs in Manchester, now this place is hardly what you'd call a hotbed for extremist fans. Halfway through the game after a tackle by Nacho Novo the whole place starts singing "I hope you die in your sleep Nacho Novo with a bullet from the IRA". But yea, definitely a minority and Chelsea fans sing songs about gassing the Jews at practically every opportunity.

Beating Lazio and Porto is quite impressive. I don’t think SPL is nearly as good as Scottish people think or nearly as bad as the rest of the world seem to think. At least outside the big two, the standard is quite awful indeed, but those results show that at the moment those two are no joke.

Celtic have needed Rangers to return to form for a while. It raises the standards of both sides

Even if Porto is going through a rebuild phase, still a good result because most of Porto players would pretty much be part of the starting 11 of Rangers or Celtic than the other way around.

No real love for either side, but glad that Celtic stuck it too Lazio after all that Nazi shit their fans were doing.
