Don’t know what’s so funny. Ole moved him back to his old position and it’s paying off. What I mean about his movement is that he plays much more like a complete nr 9 now. He can be a target man, play with his back towards the goal, combine, receive the ball in front of the defence while also making runs behind the defence. He used to be pretty static and always wanted the ball at his feet, and I believe it has something to do with good coaching.

Really good goal. Had so much work to do. Now we all know he has those in his bag. Hopefully we get to see a consistently good player during the coming months.

0.55 goal ratio so far this season, 5 in 9. His best so far including his first united season. Already scored 40% of what he managed last year.
He only played around 1600 mins in the league last year, which is the equivalent of half a season, so his 10 goals don't look too bad in that light.

He's been at 0.5 - 0.6 goals per 90 mins played for the past two seasons. He's had injuries and been in and out of the team during that time.

If he stays fit he'll have a great season. I've no idea why people are writing him off.

Amazing first half.

second half the team went into rest mode after the 3rd goal, probably the right thing with a tricky match on Sunday.

When this guys on form he’s an absolute joy to watch. That goal was so beautiful, and his offside goal with the left leg was a great finish.

Just a shame he didn’t score the chip!

No wonder we usually win when Tony’s on form.

He deserves better than Lingard and Andreas. I can't wait until we get some technically good players on his level to serve him and vice versa, we'll be feasting every week. The day he's not forced to create something all by himself is the day we become a serious team.

Some days Martial is Messi and Rashford is Ronaldo. Other days, they play more like Agbonlahor and Defoe. Somewhere in between is fine I guess, but lets hope they develop nicely these next two years. Two very good players we have currently, but we need them to get even better.
The problem is that for them to get goals they have to channel their inner Messi and Ronaldo. If not then our midfielders won't provide a thing and that's when Agbanlahor and Defoe creep out.

His hold-up play has improved a lot and his pass turn ability too.
He and Rashford are developing an understanding which will be devastating for sure.

Why are you laughing? Weirdo.
Because I don’t think much of Ole as a manager and because I have not seen Martial do anything that he has not done before and certainly not for a substantial/extended period of time that justifies crediting Ole for it (keep in mind this thread is riddled with posts on why he should play as striker)

that poster’s location being “Norway” is also a good punchline for me. Now you know why I laughed. Keep it moving, please.

He was so pissed in the second half with the sorry passing attempts from our midfield after Rashford was subbed.

good performance yesterday - I'm really happy with him. Hopefully he's able to carry us through the whole season. I want to see 20+ Goals in the PL from him.

It is extremely tiring for a lone CF to play like that and when the opportunity comes the passes to him go all over the field, it is extremely frustrating and Martial rightly showed it last night. We need a better passer in midfield to get the best out of our strikers. Beans is not the man for it for sure.

Hes one of the few current players who would have a spot in a great SAF team. Hes not starting, but hes there. Probably only Pogba and De Gea you could say that about otherwise.

Fair enough if you have seen Martial doing things I haven’t. I answered you properly and said that Anthony has developed his ability to run behind the defence and is less static than he used to be. It’s completely fine to disagree, but claiming that I give Ole a share of credit because I am Norwegian is just bullshit.

No no it’s part of the anti-Ole Caf rules now, Ole is responsible for allllllll that is bad in Manchester including the weather, and no praise may be bestowed upon him. ‘Tis’ the law

I think he’s a talented player and his runs in behind have improved this season, you decide whether that’s Ole’s coaching or not.

I’m sure even the most Anti-Ole fans can agree that he might know a little bit about the striker position and movement.
Either way it’s a must that United get the most out of Martial as possible, his ceiling is very high.

Personally though imo he must step up and do more in league games against better opposition. His desire is questioned and rightly so, it’s made all the more frustrating when us fans know what he’s capable of.

He plays one game like last night and then the next he plays like Bournemouth away and is almost anonymous.

I wish I could implant Dan James work rate into Tony. What a player he could be.

Brilliant goal!

His conversion rate is very good, it's just we don't create enough chances for him. Along with Pogba, we still need another 1-2 more creative players in the starting 11, whether it's creative midfielders or creative wide players, to create the chances for Martial and co.

His movement throughout the game was very good. Must give credit to Ole for it. I just wish we had midfielders who can find those through balls for him. He looked quite frustrated at the end there after making countless runs and no one playing him in.

This picture.

2 defenders on the deck a goal keeper on the deck and Martial running away to celebrate as they are all still looking at the ball. Looks like a Mark Hunt walk off.
Martial FC feasts tonight.

Seriously though, his top level is insanely high, its a reason why there was "If he wins the Ballon d'Or" clause in his transfer. When hes on form he has it all: First touch, technique, finishing, vision, positioning

If he can become more consistent hes going to become a top class CF

Has to be said, he and Rashford both look miles better in their current roles than the old ones. They're some of the few members of the squad who have genuine chemistry, same with Martial and Pogba too which bodes well for when he does eventually recover from his injury.

He put some moistery on the loins with that goal!

I'm liking what I am seeing from him as a #9 and when he plays there I think Rashford plays better off the LW than when it's the other way around, I feel like we have 2 quarters of a front 4 starting to develop in this team.

Team chemistry is underrated. Over the past few years our starting XI are super inconsistent. We need stable XI, not “fixed” nor “constantly changing” XI, and with appropriate rotations. Rashford and Martial needs more game time together and so they can really gel and understand each other’s movement. Two of them will have hard time for any defenders. Both are capable of producing magical moments. And they must be more consistent in their performance.

Bbbbbut he is not a striker, play him on the wing!

bbbbut he was at fault for not running hard enough a couple of weeks ago when subbed on for ten minutes after a long injury lay off.

idiots. He is our best footballer and should have been leading the line three fecking years ago. Wasted time.

Really good to see the way he was linking up with others. Seemed to have a spring in his step today. More of that please!

Impressed by him. Unselfish, should have gotten at least 3 assists more.
Needs to stay fit and build this relationship with our midfield.
