Super player. I'd be all in for him. He is so much better than the rest of his team that it's funny. And he has progressed tremendously since last year. A bona-fide prodigy. Surprised he isn't on the England shortlist.

Started the last under-21 game, which considering the talent that England has at the minute, shows he's highly rated.

Going by footage in this video, he's definitely been around the senior team.

Would be a solid back up RW for now but if im being honest that wasn't the best highlight vid.

I think we're good in the "promising, maybe they'll be good" department. We're desperate for top class players.

Watch him against Chelsea from last week. He's not just promising. He's already there. His mastery of the basics sets him apart.

He's a good player but I've not been blown away by him, I've not seen him much on the right as he seems to be on the left whenever I've seen him.

He's a very good player imo. I'd put him next to Brooks as some of the best younger wide players in the league.

I can see he's a good player but what do we actually want him for? Backup for rashford on the left? Convert him to a right winger?

He’s a good player although I’m not sure he’s good enough for what we want. He’d be a decent squad option but Burnley will want big money for him.

Could Ole want a 442 or 4411 without inverted wingers? James on right, this guy on left - what it would do is give us the option.

1 Goal and 3 Assets this season, he a Utd fan so he'd want to come.

He wasn't poached he was released because of his set pieces, ironically one of his strongest abilities now.

So if we sign this guy, are we signing him to give competition to Rashford and as his backup? What will happen to Tahit Chong then?

Rashford/ McNeil / Chong on left
Martial / Greenwood / Mandzukic (let's assume) in the middle
James / McNeil / Greenwood On the right?

Boring name. It's a no from me.

Seriously though, been very impressed with him. Didn't know he was in our academy.

Would be crazy if we signed him, I was in school with his dad !

His dad was an excellent player, played for Macclesfield and Stockport. He used to play on a Sunday morning and go in goal and the team he played for were rubbish we'd beat them about 6-0....then he'd come out of goal and it would finish 6-5 or something.

Personally this would be the weirdest United signing ever.

I don't see it with him TBH.

He'll be a left back in a few years.

Burnely didn't poach McNeil, we let him go.

I think he's a decent prospect, reminds me a lot of Stuart Downing. He's a left winger which we don't need at all but at least he's left footed so would offer something different to James and Rashford. We could also try him on the right if he's good at cutting in.

If he's cheap and available in January then I wouldn't mind this signing. If he's expensive or we have to wait until summer then look for someone better.

Would be an odd signing seeing as he only seems to play exclusively on the left. All for young english talent though.

Tbh, I think he’d be brilliant in the Oxlade-Chanberlain or De Bruyne type of role as an inside winger more than a traditional wide man. If wide men can’t get 15-25 goals in the modern game they need to play somewhere else. I think he can be a CM in the long run, left of a three. Sort of similar to the role Di Maria played in the latter stages of his Madrid career.

It seems like his agent is talking a lot about leaving. If that's the case it wouldn't be that harmful bringing McNeil in.

That’s the first thing I’ve thought whenever I’ve seen him - ceiling could be much higher at leftback/wingback.

Good player, regardless.

Yep I've used that exact comparison. Has a good cross on him, but not blessed with outstanding pace.

More of a dribbler and crosser than our recent left wing options. Certainly wouldnt be a game changer for us especially in a position where we already have multiple options, but he does play differently and would be good enough as a squad option who might improve and become a starter in time. He's clearly ahead of Chong in development

Holy cow, if this guy is deemed 'average', this place really is filled with 'football professors'.

That, and/or, they don't really watch him play.

Pretty sure most posters watch United and then just highlights. Maybe just highlights

Definitely adds something different to our attack. I think there's a lot to like about this guy.
