They would most likely keep him as he has done well on the commercial side and his PR of Ole has been magnificent. PR is one of the things they will be after. Its the football side (Manager and players) they are going to overhaul if they come (I am hoping they don't come).
If they take over i wish Ed is the first one out. I don't want to hear his name again.

To the Saudi's United will be PR and business. Ed is good at both. In fact Ed will be the guy helping with the takeover. They will just install a DOF, a new manager and improve the squad.

Ed wouldn't want a DOF . What happens then?

The LinkedIn dickhead that started all these latest rumours has supposedly broken his silence and answered someone's DM asking about a potential takeover

Warning: Image is fecking massive

If true, what happens with the moral high ground?

You reckon? I think if they keep they won't keep him in such a prominent role where our football side's fate rises and falls on his whims. If they did he wouldnt last long, do you think someone would tolerate Woodward and Judge pulling their 'one deal at a tims' stunt they pulled last summer to the detriment of their new +£3bn asset?

I am still taking this new round of news with a pinch of salt but when in does one would think that the new owners would seek some advice from the likes of Sir Alex, top agents like Mendes and would have some top football executive pulling the strings for them. I can guarantee that SAF would push for VDS to be made CEO and I think Arnold is just as important as Woodward on the commercial side and he won't be a big loss.

Scenes if Saudi's take over and still keep Ed Woodward :lol:
I think they'll appoint Arnold as the new CEO. He seems to have been heavily involved in all this, going to Saudi Arabia with the Glazers and all that.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...

You say he's good at both... but the Glazers are loathed and Woodward himself is utterly loathed.

I honestly don't think Woodward is gifted in PR - he's just blessed that United has a shockingly docile / patient fanbase.

I actually think this is likely, in the sense that MBS would be involved but not the direct link.

Keeps the bad stuff from taking the headlines.

Yea, I personally feel MBS will distance himself to begin with and then maybe later getting more involved.

I said this a few days back. I'm not exactly too sure on what his role would be but I reckon he'd stick around to begin with. But he and Ed are meant to be really good mates, so I doubt he'd want to p him off, by taking the ceo job.

Makes sense too as he is a head of state, gets complicated owning such a high profile club. I always suspected that he would use a proxy of sorts to begin with then gradually assert himself as time goes on.

The way he has shifted the narrative to a long term build with Ole is a masterclass whichever way you look at it. The results are the worst they have ever been but in the media and the fanbase Ed's narrative rules. His personal reputation is beyond repair unless the club start winning.

And a lot of fans will lap it up. How can a club like ours have to wait to so long to determine we will have success? Real bad mismanagement by Ed.

You really expect MBS to run the club? Or at least pretends like he cares? Seriously?
I don't expect him to but what I meant was become more prominent at the club with things like appearances at OT etc. But why wouldn't he want to get as much goodwill as he can? We are the most popular team in world football if not all sport so I expect him to at least want to claim the credit for our revival when it happens.

That can only work for so long but come March/April when Liverpool will be winning the 1st title in 30 years and looking odds on to retain the CL whilst we struggle to beat the likes of Sheffield United and out of Europe things could turn sour. Results will always speak and I think the decision to sack doesn't rest with him, it will always come from Florida.

The second they sell he’ll be looking for a job - guaranteed.

He will help with the takeover and leave. He’s basically the Glazer’s personal accountant, he worked for them before they bought United, and was then given a role at the club. When the Glazers leave he’ll follow.

Is this the first time from the Saudi end they’ve actually straight out said they plan to take over Utd, instead of the vague, cryptic posts before?

Who is the Saudi guy saying it’s getting closer? Any close ties to those who actually have the cash for a buyout?

He is a Saudi Journalist who was even invited to the meet and greet by the Saudi hierachy when they hosted Richard Arnold. He's someone that seems to have direct connections to the people in question.

You think so? I don't think there's a takeover happening and whoever this is, he's full of bullshite.
There's two of them on it, the same guys. The one is the journalist who was with RA recently and keeps tagging in PIF. There is definitely something in this.

This. The profile of the people reporting it is considerable and if it wasn't true it would have been shut down way before now.
