At the minute I would say Tuanzebe, Garner, Greenwood, Williams are likely to make it from what have seen.

I would have said the same about Gomes 6 months ago but something just does not seem right, he has all the ingredients but something just seems missing so would have him in the maybe at United but defo a Premier League club (or equivalent somewhere else).

Fosu-Mensah I can see having a decent career at somewhere like Burnley or maybe a yo-yo team like West Brom.

Chong not for me, just does not seem good enough can see him at a mid-table club in Holland.

To early to tell regarding the other young lads, Laird etc.

I'm not the best judge out there at all and these things are always unpredictable anyway, especially when the only one of these I've seen much of at all is Tuanzebe.

As far as he goes I'm not particularly impressed. Might be a Brighton level player as a starter, something like that or perhaps a Europa League team's 3rd CB. Can't see anything that makes me think he's destined for the very top but as already said I'm a bad judge.

What Gomes is missing is a proper manager to nurture his talent and imbed him into the starting 11. The fact that no individual senior players have "improved" under Ole gives us an indication towards the trajectory of the youth making a lasting impact. While Greenwood would likely make it solely on the credibility of his own talent, we need to loan some of the young lads out more to get exposure and experience in more competitive environments.

For example, though Lampard has shown the managerial tendencies to properly instruct his youth side from a philosophy / tactical standpoint, he does have the infrastructure of the Chelsea loan system to accredit for his players being ready to transition into regular first team football. Mason Mount, Reece James, Abrahams and Tomori all have atleast a season of a very good loan campaign which has been crucial towards what they are achieving presently. Hudson-Odoi similarly to Greenwood can migrate from reserves to first team football easier because they have a higher ceiling of talent which almost negates the necessity of having more experience at their foundations. The problem with us is one of three: players can't adjust to the first team straight away due to being in the U19/U21/U23 for too long (Chong), we pick poor loan destinations where they can't thrive, or the players just don't perform (which is no fault of the management / club).

Though Chelsea over the years have got alot of criticism for having so many players on loan, fundamentally it does benefit the players because unless they have prestigious talent they will not make the cut of first team football. That's why over the years we have seen the likes of McNair, Blackett, Daehli, Wilson be hyped beyond belief but when given the exposure to competitive football fail at the level.

I hate to say this and sometimes I snap out of these thoughts, but our youth players are “excelling” in division 2 of the U23s. To me this is quite concerning. I sometimes think they are just hyped because they play in United’s spotlight. From what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think any deserve to play in the first team (other than cameos) unless they prove themselves consistently at a higher level (championship or somewhere else in Europe).

Obviously Axel proved himself, and I believe in him 100%.

You're focusing too much on the division 2. These same players played in the uefa youth league and these same players are playing in the EFL competition, which is the u21s in a group of 3 League One or League two grown adult sides. Our u21s have done the best out of all the PL u21 sides in that competition. And that is without having all of our star prospects.

Through 3-4 games played (pts and GD)

Leicester ------7 pts out of 9 -------(+2)
Liverpool ------1 pt out of 9 -------(-4)
Aston Villa ----0 pts out of 6 -------(-3)
Newcastle -----0 pts out of 6 -------(-4)
Everton --------5 pts out of 9 -------(+2)
City ------------6 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
Wolves ---------4 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
United ----------9 pts out of 9 -------(+4)
Spurs -----------1 pts out of 6 -------(-1)
Norwich --------3 pts out of 9 --------(-2)
Brighton --------6 pts out of 6 -------(+4)
Southampton ---0 pts out of 9 -------(-3)
West Ham -------3 pts out of 6 -------(0)
Chelsea ----------6 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
Fulham ----------4 pts out of 9 --------(0)
Arsenal ----------2 pts out of 9 --------(-1)

It's clear that United, City, and Chelsea are the best English youth sides right now and have been the last few years. The reason why we're in division 2 is because of that football dinosaur Sbragia being the head coach of our u23s before this season.

They will all make it at professional level somewhere not necessarily at United. I can only say it's very exciting to wait for line ups these days and the inclusion of youth players make me follow utd a bit more enthusiastically compared to the last 7 years. I can see the sun shyly peeking through the stormy clouds.
