What happened to them?

Looks like beating City was the worst thing they could have done. They've been absolutely abysmal since.

Every match, I check their stats and they barely have any shots, let alone on target.

And to think they were such an attacking team in Championship and how many shots on goal they even got at Anfield. vs Liverpool on the first match day.

City must wonder how they've lost to Norwich and Wolves, the 2 sides that have only one 1 more game other than vs. City in the other 9 matches.
They came up with a woeful defensive record and can no longer outscore teams given the step up in quality.

I think it's a classic case of coming up too early, sadly, their best bet is doing a Burnley trying to hold onto key players and coming back up again with the extra money.

His team plays football ‘the right way’ but they concede far too many goals. They did so in the Championship too. Got away with it down to player quality there and simply outscoring everyone, but the Premier League is obviously a different beast.

Pukki randomly invoking the spirit of Ronaldo for a season has obvious ramifications too.

They played right into our hands, acres of space afforded to our forwards time after time

That second goal they conceded was abysmal (Rashford finished it well). I can see this Amadou guy isn't a CB, terrible positioning.

I wonder if their form carries on Norwich will brain fart and sack him. They've got previous for doing this with their managers.

Man. City win must be one of biggest flukes in recent years in premier league, 1 point since then. Pukki also hasn't scored.

Think Norwich will struggle to even reach 30 points so just two relegation spots in play now.

I wish we were this brilliantly coached.
He did a very good job last year.

Ultimately their defensive structure simply isn't good enough for this level. Was amazed they didn't sign a new CB and while the full backs have potential it's very naive to be playing them as high up the pitch as they did in championship.

They should stick with him. Burnley did when they were relegated in 2015 with Dyche and that has been a brilliant decision in the long run. Norwich haven't invested anywhere near enough to be demanding survival or the sack.

How much did they spend? £1.5m? Has to be the lowest investment ever after getting promoted, very odd.

Today's Kicker features an article titled "Coaching issue at Dortmund: why not Farke?".

That would be quite the switch, wouldn't it? From being dead last in England to the German no2.

Yeah, absolutely mental to come up to the Premier League and spend no money. Begging to go down.

Norwich are a result of Pukki having some sort of wild monster opening to his season. He is not good enough to sustain that kind of scoring pace (Not to take anything away from him, he HAS been phenomenal for Norwich). But without Pukki, Norwich has no goalscorers.

They have goals from Todd Cantwell (2), Josip Drmic (1), Onel Hernández (1) and Denny McLean (1). When Pukki goes back to his average form, where the hell are Norwich going to get scoring from? It will take a miracle for Norwich to avoid relegation.

Wasn't that long ago they were on the brink of going bust and the PL money doesn't kick in for a year. I reckon most if not all Norwich fans knew they'd be going straight down but financially be in a much better position.

Ah, that makes sense. Problem of course is Farke is obviously too good for the Champ again - if they go down, I’d imagine it’s extremely unlikely he goes with them?

This is exactly the case, overspending last time almost killed the club. Had to sell Maddison for a measley 20 mill just to stay afloat.

Plan from above is not to spend, take the PL money and come back up again in a much healthier position, barring a miracle survival of course.

Will probably seem an odd bump but really hope he gets a move to a better team next season. Think he’s done a great job at Norwich, even this season.
He sets Norwich up tactically great almost every game. They just have a terrible squad. Zero attacking quality bar Cantwell and their defence has multiple errors in it every game. So many games they do well but can’t score and then concede from a random defensive error.
Norwich squad is comfortably the worst in the league, he’s done well to get them as many points as they have.

+ having different back 4 at every game ain't helping the shaky defence at all. So many injuries within.

It's weird, they generally play better against the top teams but struggle against the rest. 12/21 points are against City, Spurs, Everton, Arsenal and Leicester. Beat Spurs in the cup, barely lost to us in ET. Barely lost to Liverpool last time around but against teams that want to defend they really struggle to score. Teams are simply better at defending than they are at attacking.

Wouldn't be unfair to say they have the worst squad in the league. Like you said, only Cantwell that regularly brings quality in attack (Pukki has his moments) and defense is susceptible to failure. They dominated the Championship which is very hard to do but the PL has been too much quality for their players.

I don't rate Cantwell. Buendia is the one they bring quality in attack. Poor goal to be conceded today.

Shame in a way to see them go down, they try and play a decent sort of football, and I much prefer different teams to come up, rather than just watch West Brom come up and down every season.

You cannot really argue with them having the worst squad in the league. Random Bundesliga 2 players, some of which I have seen play live over here, that I would have suspected would be playing Premier League anytime soon.

Instant re-promotion.
Seems to me a rare case, where a coach survives the promotion-relegation cycle and manages to get the team to win the lower league immediately again? Also credit to the club not sacking him, as clubs usually do with their promotion heros when things go bad in the top flight, which always feels a bit pointless and sad.
They also seem to have kept the team together surprisingly, apart from Godfrey and Lewis - Pukki, Cantwell, Buendia, Aarons all still there.

An absolute gem of a manager.
He wants his team to play with high intensity always, winning the ball back quick and moving forward as quick as possible.
Seems like a genuine guy too.
This is his chance to prove that Norwich belong in the premiership.

So glad they kept faith in him. A lot of Norwich fans wanted him gone at the beginning of the season as well. They were in bad form but had Buendia and Cantwell sulking and had no idea what team he was going to be left with once the transfer window closed.

Keep Aarons and Buendia, replace Skipp and he'll keep them up next year.
