You have not provided a single piece of evidence that suggests Sanchez was a bad apple for us. He's not referring to performances or being overpaid. It's on reference to attitude, workrate and mentality. Sanchez was actually ticking all boxes at least on that front. Ole said he had a good attitude, hunger to play and Sanchez himself never put down the club in public.

Lukaku is another story. He was definately a bad apple and there are multiple interviews and instances pointing to it. Coming underweight, flirting with moves abroad, name dropping Conte, sharing personal teammate fitness data, etc.
Read the link. Its no secret he forced a move away from Arsenal, so why then was he so "unhappy" here?
"It was well-documented that Sanchez struggled to adapt to life in Manchester and was not overly friendly with many of his team-mates."

He had 3 goals and 6 assists here in all competitions over the course of 18 months. Considering we paid him about 491,000£ (addons included) weekly the grand total in wages here came to about 38 million£. We paid that mopey bastard about 4,2 million for every goal/assist

Even he was a consummate professional he was quite clearly a flop of biblical proportions

Sanchez is a supposed to be a very solitary guy, he is supposed to not be very open. Interestingly Cavani is described the same way.

Again, it's got feck all to do with money. That's down to our stupidity to pay that much. Your articles include "sportsjoe"

Since newcastle we have had 4 good performances, today norwich liverpool chelsea, and 2 bad vs partizan away and Bournemouth. There is a decent lift in form at a time when fans were talking about 'the next 5 games'.

If we win this weekend we could technically be in 6th and a point behind arsenal for the international break, with Pogba to come back in and hopefully dry gun powder for january. If we can add some creativity in january and keep key players fit I think Ole could stay in the job til end of season. We are good enough to get results - just not convinced it will ever be pretty
I must say the Bournemouth one wasn’t as bad as Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham & the other Europa League games. I agree one a few things that if we can add at least one creative player (no 10) in January, our main players can stay fit including Pogba back to the team, I think we might get better result. The obvious positive from Ole compared to other previous managers is that he and we know what’s our best XI, at least 90% of it.

Hes a mercenary, plain and simple. The fact that he never settled here and was "unhappy" despite we paying him out the arse says a lot
Yeah, he went for the money. But as already explained his work ethic and attitude was never a problem for us, so this argument that he's a bad apple is over the top.

It's got feck all to do with money. We chose to pay that, don't blame him for it. If its overpaying, we should have not offered to his requests. But we did, he came, trained hard. Underperformed on the pitch but as the manager said, his attitude was always right and he was always hungry. That doesn't make him a bad apple.

Where do you get that from? Sulking does not sound like good attitude to me. Another article: https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...anchester-united-alexis-sanchez-news-15226703.And another one https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-jose-mourinho-relationship-at-breaking-point

Granted that Jose was getting quite toxic at the end, but there were plenty of other players in the squad that did not end up in conflict with him. In any case, bad apple or not, he was utter dogshite for us and if the reports are correct and Inter are willing to take him off our hands its a minor miracle

Again, you're clutching at straws and taking shit reporters and shit news outlets. Look at the journalists you refer to before actually believing everything published.

Mourinho fell out with everyone, he'd criticise most his players by default. And yet he never openly criticised Sanchez, so I'm struggling to believe what your two poor sources had when it wasn't even widely reported.

Look at what Ole has said about Sanchez even when he was likely off. He was called a great professional with strong hunger to get playing again, and his attitude couldn't be faulted.

Yeah, Ole did say that before the deal with Inter. He also said this after the deal was done: "Listen, the culture we want to build we had to make those decisions.". https://www.teamtalk.com/news/solsk...-had-to-offload-duo-for-sake-of-clubs-culture Regarding letting Lukaku and Sanchez go.

Honestly though, i dont give a toss about Sanchez and whether or not he had a decent attitude. As far as i know, Darmian had a great attitude as well, that still does mean we should have kept him. Sanchez barely featured under Jose, and when he did he was awful 95% of the time. Same under Ole

All I know is that Leicester is playing much better than we have ever played under Ole. They seem to be coached in how to play.
The players seen to know what to do unlike us who have no clue at all.
Even their CB and that includes Johnny Evans seem to be playing proper football.

Again, you can't really lump Ole's broad words where Lukaku (a big problem to Ole and the club) is mentioned alongside Sanchez.

No one is saying they shouldn't have been sold. You don't need to be a bad apple to be sold. Sanchez was surplus to requirements, sure. He wasnt a bad apple though. His attitude work rate and mentality was fine.

What a goal by Leicester... everything Ole talks a about doing in 3 years time after 6 transfer windows Rodgers is doing without talking, results and style of play, lost his best CB last year and didn’t sign a replacement.. no complaints, no excuses. Similar story with Lampard

Leicester clearly made a mistake by sacking an underperforming manager before they gave him at least 3 years to implement his tactics.

Don’t forget..... Liverpool also clearly made a mistake by sacking Roy Hodgson after only 6 months.... imagine if they gave him time like they gave Klopp, they’d have won a CL much earlier and already have a couple of premier league titles under their belt by now

I have to agree. Every manager deserves AT LEAST 3 years and £500m. There is just simply no way someone could come in and do a decent job before that.

Do we really need to analyse every single event as some criticism for Ole? Perhaps another thread could be created for this...

3 years plus £500m to get a club that was already in the CL back into the CL... to get them challenging to win the league need new owners, new stadium plus an extra £1b

So, it seems that you do not need to make a team worse and have multiple seasons to improve a team. Not really surprising. Chelsea and, particularly, Leicester have completely blown that theory out of the water.

These two teams have adopted a new style of play, are getting great results, and are massively entertaining to watch.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer has transformed a sixth place team into a fourteenth place team, whilst playing incredibly dull football. Well, I guess you can say he has made a difference.

Not the first time it's happened. I reckon it's good fun for some people so best leave them at it.

But yet the cult of Solskjær crew will have you believe that being closer to relegation rather than a CL place is all part of a rebuild.

I think it's a fair point to be honest.

I largely see little point in sacking Ole, because he's merely a symptom of wider problems, but it's hard to deny that other managers have come in to other clubs and turned them into the sort of outfits that Solksjaer says he wants in quicker time with less outlay. There's a narrative that we have to endure hardship and woeful football to become better, but the evidence of this season so far is the those changes can happen quickly under the right manager.

The only elephant in the room is just how bad our squad is.

They signed two CBs to replace Maguire, one of whom was playing in the match you just watched.

Its really bizzare. Rodgers who ended up 6th with Liverpool before Klopp took over is now hailed as some deity, as is Lamapard. Yet no one is talking about Emery, and in the Poch thread people are bending over backwards to make excuses for him, they will use literally anything to shit on him

You could probably make a thread about making pasta in the general forum, and two posts in someone would say something about Ole being clueless about cooking pasta and how hes runied pasta for them

If we pick up a winning run we might finish the season 5th.

However I doubt that will ever happen with Ole in charge.

Things have gone quiet on old CAF favourite Poch, the man that would solve all of our problems singlehandedly.

Rodgers and Lampard are the new flavour of the month, both would have got exactly the same results as they have at Leicester and Chelsea if they had come into our completely different scenario (ignore that there would have been outrage on here if either was appointed in March or at the end of the season).

True. Some posters are truly pathetic - they even can get nasty when the club doesn't sign a particular player but then move on as if nothing happens when the same player flops at another club.

I hope someone brings up the examples of Leicester and Chelsea to Gary Neville, when he ends up talking about multiple transfer windows, three years and hundreds of millions in spending money to be good again... when all it takes is a change of manager to see an improvement.

We’ve seen a boring, mid-table Leicester side transformed into an exciting European contender in the space of eight months. It is complete bullshit that we’re supposed to eat shit, grin and bear it before we become good, which is basically what he’s telling us to do.

Chelsea won the Europa league and came third, they weren't some no hopers that Lampard has dragged back up.

With Leicester, i could have told you their best line up, it's not rocket science, two of the best attacking full backs, a well balanced midfield 3 and a proven striker. Puel had managed to fall out with Vardy and i imagine the rest of the squad followed. Rodgers has been able to get this best 11 on the pitch consistently.

If it's all so easy as changing the manager why are there 15 other sides in the league scrambling about beating each other every week?

This time nonsense is an excuse that has only ever been applied for United only. Almost any new good manager at any club shows immediately his style and his football from the get go, and the remaining things will be few signings to make everything click. Only at United you need minimum of 3 years and 2-3 transfer window to just apply a football style.

Ok - tell us which line-up you recommend for OGS that would take us to 2nd in the table ?

Oh look, the never ending freaking comparison with Ferguson, who is a completely exceptional case. Apparently just because it worked once 20 years ago with the best manager in history it's always going to work with any upcoming manager. Give any manager 5 years and he'll turn to Fergie.

Do you know where United was when Ferguson took over? Second from bottom. This United was in 2nd position the previous year and in 7th place when Ole took over.
Now we are 14th.

A good chunk of our current team were part of a team that actually finished 2nd in the league not too long ago.
That’s the disturbing thing and why I think the Ex United players on TV who clearly use their roles for more then just analysing games are more harmful to the club then Arsenal Fan TV. These pundits are like shepherds who herd the sheep amongst the United fans and there are more sheep’s then free thinkers in any large group.
