We've been seeing the the same rumour crop up for well over a year now. Before the club would deny it and even the Saudis denied it in February this year. The people connected to the house of Saud were also silent on the matter at the time but they're now openly fuelling takeover talk now. The two Saudis chaps who have tweeted today are both connected to the house of Saud and are not some random people making these claims.

United and the house of Saud have as yet not denied it either. Duncan Castles also reported, that along with Richard Arnold, Avram Glazer also was in attendance in Saudi Arabia.

This is what is making me lean towards these claims being genuine. Plus the lack of denial from the club or contradictory reports from the press.

I didn't know Avram Glazer was there as well. This is surely only just a matter of time now.

This guy’s just taking the piss  Are we sure he’s not just some Twitter WUM?
He rubs shoulders with the Saudi hierachy and has been pictured attending events hosted by the Royal Family. If there is a takeover in the works then I would imagine the news would first break from the Saudi end. The Glazers are so secretive that even the British Journos have commented in the past about their secrecy.

Don’t think Saudi is the best place to go on a WUM about their states dealings. It’s definitely something in this.

Appreciate the info, I’ve seen in other threads that this guy is the real deal in terms of connections, it’s just most times I see a Tweet of his posted it reads like someone stirring. I think I’ve just been ruined by following football discussions on Twitter all these years...

Wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to measure the fans reaction online and through social media to these rumours. I'd they are considering taking over for PR then unhappy fans would not be a good look.

I believed these two previously for the reasons cited by the rest of you but I don't buy this anymore. That Moaib guy was in LinkedIn headquarters today having a meeting, and posted another tweet advertising his profile proudly showing off the popularity he's gained from tweeting about United, think he's had a nice good laugh at the expense of United fans on Twitter begging for the Saudis, with his follower count going through the roof as a nice little bonus.

The journalist clearly just really wants it to happen and is getting sucked in by that Moaib guys carry on (Notice his tweets are always reactionary, right after Moaib tweets something about us.)

I just don't buy this shit at all anymore, this is way too amateurish to have any credibility. Trolling, I wouldn't have thought it would be a good idea to carry on like that over there but yeah, this has all the hallmarks of a complete windup.

the saying "no smoke without fire" doesn't really apply to 2019 does it? People keep saying it but we live in a world of relentless bullshit.

Agree with this. They're getting a kick out of the attention.

There's obviously worse owners than the Glazers.
Are there? It's not just Utd they own. Tampa are a shamble of a club and Utd are following that pattern. The sad truth is that they really are sucking the life out of both clubs while sucking out money.

Would you rather be owned by Mike Ashley?

Not sure how that's relevant? They are both absolutely terrible .
It’s relevant because one is clearly worse than the other. But there’s plenty more in the football world if we actually bothered to care. Realistically we don’t.

I've heard the Saudi billionaire who is buying us is a man called "sheik anvac" and he will put the freshness back into Manchester United Football Club.

This is a dream to most united fans as we can get rid of fecking Glazers and Ed immediately at the same time!

Hope the Saudi can be like City and PSG owners who transform the clubs with proper football structure and development to the club.

That is the dream but nothing, of course, is certain. Fans are just hoping that focus returns back onto football first and foremost (with no expense spared) and then to commercial activities.

Spanish Supercopa semifinals to be played in Saudia Arabia for the next 3 years. I can really see these guys taking over a football club soon enough, if it isn't ours. Put all fingers would suggest us. And we can do so much with the Glazers and Ed gone.

I hope the Saudi hurry up. At least the scousers will only be level on titles once Mbappe is in the team.

Tell me more about what's going on at Tampa. Because I'm going to go ahead and assume you know nothing.

Read this, then hush about Tampa.

Not sure what you are trying to prove with that link, but the history of Tampa is that daddy Glazer had a lot of success with it between 1996-2006, but when he suffered two strokes in 2006 he was out and the clueless offsprings started destroying everything that had gone well. Soon after they took over they fired Jon Gruden, in 2008, the most successful coach in NFL history. Tampa has not made it back to the playoffs ever since.

Likewise, the moron kids appointed Woodward after David Gill left (quickly followed by departure of SAF, because he could see where things were heading without Gill / With Ed in charge) and we are now in shambles, after 6 years of methodical mismanagement.

So yeah - there's a lot of similarity between Tampa and United, and the similarity is that idiot rich kids are running around, appointing morons, and destroying both teams.

Is this guy on your reddit link talking about the Glazers at Tampa? Sounds familiar.

"we tried to get away with the cheapest possible team. “The youngrys”, the young hungry team rahim had was cheap and young. Why not spend money and get good vets? Why not try to win?"
