Yep taking Sterling has let me get Maddison and 3.8m in the bank to upgrade on Mount or get a 7.5m midfielder/striker.

What do people think on Danny Ings. His fixtures look amazing. £6m, the question is do I think he'll get more points than a similarly priced midfielder.

I would go for pulisic. Doing very well and he's going up in price

I got two free transfers and I'm waiting till after international games are done.

Team value is 104.4m and OR is 29k.

Definitely going to let go of either KDB or Sterling though. Just don't know which one yet. Got value tied up in KDB and he's better value than Sterling too. Probably Sterling for the chop tbh.

Don't want to take another hit this GW. I have 3 Liverpool players and 3 Leicester players with 2 Chelsea. Think I need a bigger spread of options and might take away one of my Chelsea assets in Mount or Abraham. Pulisic looks amazing but I'm going to hold for the moment until we know who's the untouchable. With Kante coming back how is Lampard going to fit all of these options in. If you had to bet your house on one Chelsea player week in week out it would be Tammy, but god damn 50.3% ownership!

Ings is never the answer.
Are you 100% sure!?

His next 6 games are Arsenal, Watford, Norwich, Newcastle, West Ham and Villa. Seems like prime Danny Ings real estate.

It's Danny Ings, who plays for relegation bound Southampton.
Have to be better options surely.

I'll be doing Auba/KDB or Sterling/Cantwell to Ayew/Salah or Mane/Pulisic in the coming weeks. Just got to time it right.

An Auba blank or a Sterling yellow will seal the deal.

Find it startling the number of people who have dumped Sterling and/KDB before Chelsea at home. They’ll prove a point after losing to Liverpool. Both are definitely potential captains for that game week

dropped Salah and CHO for Pulisic and Martial :nervous:
Bold move Cotton...

I guess you couldn't do much by just removing CHO?

Bloody hope so. A Sterling captain haul would be so sweet next GW. He's becoming quite a differential in my mini leagues.

Long post incoming...

Can confirm having gone through the dregs of defenders that no defenders that are 4.0 look like starters. The only hope from them is Kelly may start when AWB goes, which is reflected by him being by far the most popular 4.0 defender.

4.5 defenders also seem thin on the ground, the attacking full-backs from promoted sides are gambles that might pay off (El Mohammedy, Aarons) as they both got a lot of assists last season, but they might ship goals. For CBs Diop is decent value at 4.5.

GKs also there is no potential starters at 4.0, Heaton looks like best value at 4.5, but currently I can't squeeze enough value out of the team to afford a 4.5 rotation GK so will stick with Ederson as GK for every game. Made a mistake towards end of last seasom of having two ~4.5 keepers who I thought I could rotate and get points, but both kept fecking up. Better off going for either Ederson or Allison depending on how many City/Pool outfield players you have.

Midfield from the big sides B.Silva is very popular as he hasn't gone up much and Sterling is now very expensive, so guessing most people are going Bilva over Sterling as a City mid. Mane is a lot more expensive this season so Salah is probably the better value now as he tends to get more assists.

In terms of value mids, Pereyra and Doucoure are still the same price at 6.0 despite having decent seasons and have a decent start so planning to start with one of them. Brooks and Fraser are both a bit more expensive so planning to wait and see if one is worth having. Leicester also have some great potential options but no idea who to pick. Maddison is still only 7.0 so seems a pretty safe pick if you can afford him, if not Barnes (6.0 or Gray (5.5) are gambles that could pay off, but no idea which will be favoured over the other or if they'll be rotated for each other and both be worthless. Ayoze Perez is now a midfielder for no apparent reason so could be an option, depending on where he plays under a new manager, though he was very streaky last season with a late hattrick inflating his stats. If Zaha moves on then Meyer at 5.5 is promising.

At promoted teams there's a few who could have potential but all have a tough opener so won't gamble on any yet. McGinn and El Ghazi look best value at 5.5 as both had slightly better stats per minute than Grealish last season who's 6.0, but Grealish may now be on pens with Abraham gone. Buendia at Norwich at 6.0 is also interesting having got double figures for goals and assists last season.

All 5.0 midfielders seem pretty worthless except Hojbjerg may finally be stepping up if he can avoid red cards. And 4.5 the only potential I can see is Leitner if he starts.

Forwards, no idea why Kane is now 11.0 so that's a must. Wilson has gone up a fair bit unlike King, but then King is a bit shite and Wilson should get more points, if (big if) he avoids injury. Giroud at 7.0 could be a steal if he actually starts. Anyone 6.0 and below looks garbage. Don't have much faith in Pukki or Sharp carrying their Championship record up. Shane Long at 5.0 is maybe the only value, but that relies on Ings and Austin being injured (likely).

So generally looks like they've actually done an okay job of having no interesting cheap players :( I'm sure some will turn up though.

So far I've gone with:
Ederson
Robertson Laporte Gomez
Salah B.Silva Zaha Pereyra Gray
Kane Wilson
Subs: Button ElMo Kelly Greenwood

0.0 in bank :nono:
Tempting to downgrade Wilson to a 6.5 forward then be able to make slight upgrades to Kelly, Gray and Greenwood.
Yeah its hard to find good defenders that are cheap. I would prolly dump Kane and put in Vardy if i were you. That would free up some funds.

Im currently on

Ramsdale (stekelenbrug)
Lundstram - Pieters - Van Aanholt (Ward, Dunk)
Mane - KDB - Sterling - Pulisic - Mcginn
Vardy - Abraham (King)

Teamvalue: 104.4 + 0.2 in the bank. Taking a hard look at defenders atm.

Not this year it isn't.
Lundstram, Rico, Tomori and Soynucu pretty cheap and all doing well.
Also have Kelly who is a bit more in and out of the Palace team, but at 4m has already served me well.

Probably going to wait till after the break to make changes unless massive price fluctuations look likely. But in the meantime overthinking my next move is giving me anxiety, any comments appreciated

Pope (Button)
TAA Soy Lund (Rico, Dunk)
McGinn, DeBruyne, Salah, Mount (Guendouzi)
Vardy, Abraham, Jimenez

2 free transfers and 2,9 mil on the bank

Do I:

A: trade TAA and Mount for Mane and Janmaat - Liverpool midfield double up, Janmaat could be a strong differential moving forward

or

B: trade McGinn and Mount for Martial and Maddison - Leicester triple up and Martial, out of position and guaranteed to lead the line when fit

Option A seems riskier, my def looks very light without TAA (who I started the season with and if he starts scoring after i remove him i will be livid)
The Mane / Salah / DeBruyne midfield should score bucket loads though

Leaning towards option B currently, spreads my funds more evenly over more players which seems a safer option

I'm really starting to think that more points could be earned by not having a premium city player. Spread the money on 2 players
Yeah I regret getting Sterling two weeks ago. But YOU HAVE TO HAVE STERLING OR SALAH OR OTHERWISE YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!

I find that my strategy of having a deep team with lots of quality has worked pretty well over the last weeks. Had 80 points last week, 74 this week and I'm just 13 points behind leader in my league - I was 70 behind just 4-5 weeks ago.

I'm going to keep Sterling for 2-3 more games but if he doesn't produce I'm going to replace him and upgrade elsewhere.

Current team:

Pope / Button
TAA / Soyuncu / Dunk / Willems / Lundstram
James / KDB / Sterling / Martial / Mount
Vardy
/ Abraham / Rashford

Bolded are my core players, i.e. barring long term injuries or terrible run of form I do not anticipate replacing them at any points this season. I probably want to replace Sterling with Mane but will wait a couple of weeks.

Most in my mini leagues aren't switched on enough to consider removing him for a while, so if I did I'd potentially lose out a lot if he did get a haul.

Chelsea are really poor at set pieces and defending aerial balls so KDB should be getting some assists.

Not an idiot, if you time it well with Mane and De Bruyne instead.

But when we analysed your points versus say, my league, you'd have been well down, so it depends the context of your league!

Think both are must haves. But if you already have Chilwell, I wonder if double Leicester is overkill? Maybe not though, the way they're going!

Sterling has had a quiet season with only that 20 pointer day 1, and I think only 1 other double digit job.

However, when he explodes, you want to be in included in the points party!

And just a 1-0 with him scoring, could give you a 22 pointer!

Well conversation at the beginning of season was always about Salah and Sterling, rarely Mane and never KDB (he was considered not a premium player). Both have been underwhelming for the price so far, I actually regret taking Sterling as I really doubt he’s going to be worth his price tag but will stick with him for 5-6 games.

Any thoughts on Maddison v Tielemans and/or Pulisic v Mount?

On my wildcard and struggling to decide whether to drop the ones I have value tied up in (Maddison & Mount) for the others. Or indeed for someone entirely different.

So tempted with taking Sterling out for salah. I know Salah hasn't offered much value so far, but can see Liverpool players picking up big points up to xmas.

Going to play my wildcard this week.

Who would be the consensus absolute must haves at this stage?
IMO Vardy and Martial are must haves. Vardy not just because of his form, but also because he has a favorable list of fixtures coming up. Martial's value as a striker in the MF for $7.x is unmatched.

IMO, other than that it is all a bit of crystal ball reading.

As per @LungiDevil above, but on the defender side of things, you have to have Soyuncu, Tomori and Lundstram. Cheap and score well. I'd probably have Rico as well to be honest. Those 4 certainly help you build elsewhere.

Sterling, Salah, Mane, De Bruyne have had good patches of form, and most likely you'll have at least 2 of these - probably the two current cheapest.

Just got Martial in

Pope
TAA Lundstram Robertson
Mane Martial KDB Mount Maddison
Vardy Abraham

bench: Button, Soyuncu, Rico, Greenwood. 0.7m bank

Might go Abraham > Jimenez and Mount > Pulisic in the coming weeks.

Any particular reason you'd sell Abraham? Second highest goalscorer in the league, two goal and two assists from the last three games, still relatively cheap. Don't quite see the appeal in ditching.

Abraham, either or both of Robertson/TAA, KdB and Mount/Pulisic.. Then Id pick between Mane/Salah/Sterling for a good captain player

All good value. I like Vardy too

Looks like a change for the sake of it type move that @Gringo
