For United: 9 goals in 17 games for Marcus in comparison to 13 in 47 last season and 13 in 52 the season before. He's taken off.

Keep in mind his game against Brighton and Partizan he should have had a hattrick each. He's pretty much a hattrick away from meeting his last two seasons record and we're only in November...
On course for a 20+ season, let's hope he can keep it up.

Serious question, I have no idea what an energy merchant is. Can you explain?
I could be wrong, but I think it's an old, old wooden ship used during the Civil War era. That, or someone who works as a door to door salesman for British Gas.

Watch it again, he is trying to curl it in. He even looks at the goal just before he kicks the ball.

In general he still had a good performance.
I did. He is clearly playing the ball to Sancho. Link below, right between 42-43 second mark, he looks straight at Sancho and also again as he is going out of touch. Can't see how you think he is going for goal unless you are trying to fit to some preconceived notion that he is nothing but selfish.

I sometimes wonder what the attitude/thoughts towards him would be if he didn't play for us.

I personally reckon that the majority of us would be desperate for someone as good and talented as him to be at the club.

In a way he's more likely to do it from the left wing than from up front. He's just more dangerous running in from the space than getting stuck backing into two CBs.
That's my view on it too. That Rashford would get more goals from the left and Martial would get more goals from playing down the middle. If we can get Tony to get around 20-30 goals up top with Rashford getting around 20 on the wings we could be in for a treat

You guys think Rashford can become a 20 goal season player on the wings?
Yes. Wings doesn't mean what it used to. Rashford gets in the box plenty. The modern winger can be as much a goalscorer as anyone these days.

Yup! Depending on the system wingers would score equally as much, if not more goals, than a striker playing through the middle.

Well he's pretty much half way there with over half the season still to go

The thing is though there's a difference between being a 20 goal a season in all comps player and a 20 goal a season in the league alone player

Is Rashford capable of 20 goals in all comps? Yes because like I said he's pretty much already halfway there, is he capable of 20 goals in the league alone? Very doubtful and sooner or later we're going to need someone to produce those kind of numbers

Thats a really good point, if he wasnt out player, say he was at Everton, Leicester or a club like that we would be desperate to sign him and no doubt we would easily part with over 80 million to get him.

I feel he is capable of brilliance, just not with consistency which makes it sometimes frustrating but I also feel at some point it will just click for him and he will put it together. Dont wanna compare him to Ronaldo but Ronaldo was the same at first until it just clicked.
Rashford is our best talent. Period.

Without any doubt. Winger who has scored more than 10 goals already in the season, people would be going with "must sign player" in his transfer thread and also posts like "why would he sign for us, he can pick any club that ahead of us".

This, a player like that is worth his weight in gold but I think a lot of our issues have more to do with the supply line than the quality of our forwards because in a 4-2-3-1 formation the #10 is the creative fulcrum and the players we have playing that position are no where near the required quality. This alone makes it difficult to judge our forwards because strikers are usually as good as the amount of chances they get.

This is the thing that excites me the most. It's obviously linked to the team playing better also, but the fact he's getting enough chances to miss 3 goals and STILL score a few.

He's looking a lot more confident and hungry recently, his poor touch seems to have disappeared and he's attacking the box with much greater desire than previous.

I think he just understands how to play the LW better than as a striker.

In this current vain of form he could easily hit 30 goals this season.

He needs that extra bit of space to run at people. He hasnt the technical ability or finishing to play in the middle with defenders breathing down his neck. Out wide he can get the ball where he wants it and face up to his man.

Yep it seems that way. When he "slows" the game down to a walking pace he looks worse, but when moving at speed he's pretty unstoppable.

He, Martial and James countering are a threat against any side in the world.

His Best position nis definitely as a left forward, where in he can run and take his man on or run in the box.
I feel he is going to score at least 20 goals this season, he has been missing chances lately but one point it will fall in place and he will score.
The biggest change this season is that he scoring consistently and our forward line is sort of developing an understanding.
It will interesting to see how this will pan out once Pogba is back (who I am sure will occupy Perreira's place in the 11)

Has scored as many PL goals as Harry Kane and Mo Salah this season. 9 in all contests.

Rashford is only 21 years old.

True. With his current numbers he should make at least 20 in all competitions but it's just usually he has dips in form throughout a season where he doesn't score for a few games. Maybe this is the year where it all finally clicks! In his last 3 full seasons he has averaged a goal every 4 games, so he would need to almost half that to make 20 goals, which I think he would. With our thin squad and providing he stays fit, he will play a lot of games. I believe he can make 25 goals in all competitions this season but that is dependent on how far we go in the cups, in particular the Europa League where there is the potential to play several games vs lesser teams.

Like you said, we need a player, I say even 2 players who can hit around 15-20 goals in a single Premier League season especially if we want to get back to the top and challenge for the league. City have Aguero and Sterling, Liverpool have Salah and Mane and Spurs have Kane and Son who hit or at least get close to those numbers.

Unless we sign another forward player capable of these numbers, Rashford and Martial are our only 2 players who could get close to those figures providing they continue to get better and become more ruthless in front of goal.

Love the guy, hopefully this season he gets properly consistent and it would be great to see.

Does anyone else feel like Rashford is disconnecting from Lingard? I always thought he needed that as Lingard is just too casual and not ambitious enough.
