Guess he just walked into harris’s & let the personal shopper be sick all over him.

He’s done well to match that orange mind.

He's OFF

According to his hoodie
Off to work on the railways by the look of those trousers.

Hes shown nothing that suggests hes going to make it here. Maybe a move is best for everybody.

If Juve wants him, then he has something. I have been following Chong for some time, but still don't know what to make of him. When he got back from his injury I thought he was brilliant. Powerful, strong, too fast and skillful for his opponents. However, he has been hit and miss in the last year or so. Great stats in our U23-team this year but not really fantastic last season. He has been underwhelming in the first-team because he isn't ready. He's too raw and should've been sent on loan. But he wasn't. And here we are. Therefore, I think he will come good in the future and with regular playing time but we can't give him that now.

Rather give him a season out on loan before we decide if he will make it here at United or not. Instead of getting rid of him now and thinking "what if?".

A move to Juve won’t help. Even Dybala seems to be just a bench player there.

Next season, when possibly both of Ronaldo and Higuain will be gone, Mandzukic as well. They need new forwards and wingers. Not saying that Cong will be a regular there, he certainly won't be. But it's not impossible that he will get some playing time there next season.

Make him a wingback - doesn't seem good enough in the final third

Just my opinion but I think his only real asset is pace and because he seems to have a big back lift and the way he positions his body when delivering or shooting he seems to telegraph nearly everything he does.
I can understand why he may have success at a lower level as his speed gives him a little more time to do what he wants to do but I think he will be found out at a higher level.
He could prove me wrong and I would be interested to see how he would do on a loan deal at a Championship club playing every week.

The miss was appalling but any player can have an appalling miss so there's no point focusing too much on that.

More worrying is that once again he looked completely hopeless and had to be subbed off.

Anyone that has seen him in the youth setup or reserves please explain what it is he is supposed to have? Because for the first team so far he's been awful.

He has failed in any chance he has taken so far, miss or not. Won't make it, lacks a lot of things.

Meh. Don't see what any of the fuss is about this kid. Should also get a haircut too.

His miss was inexcusable. Cost his team the game.

Will be 20 next week and can't seem to do anything right every time he plays. Should be loaned or sold.

He was excellent until about 2018, looked a huge talent until then. Hasn't really kicked on since. I've said on here before that I don't think he is near United level, will probably cut out a decent enough career abroad.

Right thanks.

I assumed he must have been killing it on the lower levels to be given a chance with the first team.

Every time he's appeared with the first team, and admittedly he's not been given loads and loads of chances, he's just looked utterly out of his depth. Weak on the ball, gives it away a lot, can't beat a man, no pace, terrible miss tonight.

If Juventus are after him I'd be fine with just letting it happen.

Worst player on the pitch today (in our team). So many chances this season and not even once did he show good performance in the first team. In comparison, Laird or Levitt played for the first time and both did well

I've never seen anything to make me think he's got a chance of making it here.

Don't think he was impressive in any games except couple of preseason friendlies. We might even lose him on free transfer, if he signs new contract then he should be loaned out for few years. He is fragile and lacks balance.

Can Juve take him already? He doesn't look ready for this level. Won't be arsed if he refuses to renew to be honest.

I'm really hoping he makes it as a footballer. If he agrees to a renewal, find a decent loan stint for him. Else, be on his merry way then.

That sitter he missed was the turning point in the game as Astana went up the other end of the pitch and scored.

Scores that and it’s pretty much game over.

Unfortunately with him it's not that he makes poor decisions, it's that it seems to be all he makes atm. Shame after the promise he showed in U18 and U23 levels.

I get why he is getting game time, he has shown genuine promise to earn it from the under age teams, but he's clearly not ready for this level, if he ever will be.

I'd be interested to see what he does on loan, but if he starts a loan poorly, he may struggle to see the first team for long!

Obviously he's doing enough in training to be constantly selected. Needs a loan to improve his decision making at a lower level and to improve his confidence. Still too raw for the first team.

The miss reminded me bit of Lingard vs City.

Great lesson of football for the lad. We'll see if he can react to that in the future, but United's first squad should really be for the most talented only.

Having watched his miss at least 6 times, I still can't quite work out how he missed it, and by such a huge margin too.

I like Chong but his performances in the first team since the start of the season have been horrible.

If he wants to sign a new contract then spend a couple of years out on loan, perhaps he could improve to the point where he might be ready for United.

Didn't think he was that poor. His all round game was neat and tidy but the fundamental issue is we would like to see abit more risk taking in his game now.

He's got decent ability but the step-up up,from youth football,is the hardest step.
There's a big gap in quality between the two levels.

He needs a loan badly so he can learn how to translate his game into senior football. Hopefully the people around him are advising him properly.

He was great in 2017/18. He would utilize a touch to set off counters (back facing goal), and could dribble past players and glide with the ball at full speed albeit with occasional bad overrunning of the ball or bad touches. He would create chaos in that manner. In the 2018/19 he clearly was average, which I noted many times in the youth threads. It's been more of the same this season, albeit he has been slightly better for the youth sides compared to last season. So he hasn't exactly dominated u23s football to deserve playing time.

I actually thought today he was better in regards to nerves, yet he wasn't able to do much with the ball so he was useless. He hasn't flashed anything in any of his first team appearances unlike the others and he's the oldest.

He needs to work on his body and if he does stay here, get a loan to the Eredivisie. Otherwise he'll get bullied when he does try to go past players and look immature in his decision making to boot.

I would be a shit scout. Most of fans were in love in Greenwood and Gomes but i thought that Chong is the real thing. I wanted him in first team as cover for rw but he is not ready. Too many simple mistakes during the game.

But i am not giving up from him. If i was Ole( so bad manager:wenger:), i would give him start against Villa on right wing and told him; just play your game, you have 90 minutes to prove yourself.( yeah, i know, doesn't make any sense but i like wingers like him ffs.)

If he doesn't sign, no great loss.

If he does sign, he should be loaned out for at least 2 seasons. He needs to develop with the pressure off.

I saw a deja vu of Wellbeck, great pace but poor end product. We have tons of players who is faster than him, should give Ramazani and Mellor more chance to play first team experience than him
