A General question, how big of a difference is there between Division 2 and 1 for the U23 ?

Dylan Levitt and Reagan Poole named in the Wales squad for the games against Azerbaijan and Hungary.

FA Ýouth Cup results usually indicate that the difference isn't that big. But it changes from season to season. West Ham and Man United's U23 team would be near the top in Division 1 as well. If United played: Kovar - Williams, Ercolani, Mengi, Laird - Garnes, Levitt, Gomes - Chong, Greenwood, Ramazani - we would probably be top in Division 1.

But in fairness - the quality of United and West Ham is a bit extreme to be in Division 2

It's a good question, but I would say that since we can't directly compare (through league matches) our current u23s to the teams in Division 1, we should use the EFL competition to measure our u21s to the Division 1 u21s.

Through 3-4 games played (pts and GD)

Leicester ------7 pts out of 9 -------(+2)
Liverpool ------1 pt out of 9 -------(-4)
Aston Villa ----0 pts out of 6 -------(-3)
Newcastle -----0 pts out of 6 -------(-4)
Everton --------5 pts out of 9 -------(+2)
City ------------6 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
Wolves ---------4 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
United ----------9 pts out of 9 -------(+4)
Spurs -----------1 pts out of 6 -------(-1)
Norwich --------3 pts out of 9 --------(-2)
Brighton --------6 pts out of 6 -------(+4)
Southampton ---0 pts out of 9 -------(-3)
West Ham -------3 pts out of 6 -------(0)
Chelsea ----------6 pts out of 9 -------(+1)
Fulham ----------4 pts out of 9 --------(0)
Arsenal ----------2 pts out of 9 --------(-1)

Can someone clarify how many get promoted from the PL2, is it 1 team or 2 teams?

Winner automatically up - teams 2-5 play qualifier
I see, very tight at the top between us and West Ham. I hope we can go up automatically because the play offs in any league system is a different game altogether.

Doubtful - West Ham have a very strong side - and we will use the youngsters in first-team games, which West Ham won't.

So I would say it's advantage West Ham. But there is no excuse for not being promoted through the play-off where we can afford to use our strongest players for a couple of matches

Does anybody know who Osborne who played for the 16s in the last few days is?

It's not a name i've seen in the younger age groups before, A trialist maybe?

Not 1 of our players anyway so must be a trialist

Unlikely yeah but Scott Wootton moved from Liverpool to United albeit he was slightly older, and Ramon Calliste and Sam Hart amongst others have moved the other way over recent times so you never know.
There a trialist over from Ireland at the moment, it’s probably him.

It's interesting that we have a lot of players who even can participate in next seasons FA Youth Cup :

Wellens, Hoogewerf, Sotona, Hardley, Emeran, Svidersky, Savage, Mejbri, Hughes, Fish, Dodgson, Gallagher-Allison, Mejia

Yes, very interesting. What about FA Youth Cup this season, best eleven for United?

Spontaneously, I'm not feeling very confident about reaching success there this season.

Consider us clear favourites for this game - Tranmere's first-team are in poor form near the bottom of League 1. Suffered some heavy defeats like 0-5 against Sunderland, 1-4 against Ipswich and 0-3 against Oxford.

And in their current position - they almost need to rest some key-players against us to Think about their League-matches.

Ethan Laird scored for England u19s in a 4-1 win away in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mason Greenwood equalised for the U21s in a 2-1 loss to Holland.
