Quarter-final first legs were a couple days ago.

River Plate 2-0 Cerro Porteno
LDU Quito 0-3 Boca Juniors

Gremio 0-1 Palmeiras
Flamengo 2-0 Internacional

Looks like Boca Juniors and River Plate will meet again in the Copa Libertadores :D

Few "new faces" are also involved....De Rossi, Valencia, Filipe Luis and Rafinha.

And by the way the final will be played as a single match (Santiago de Chile) instead of over two legs.

Will it be an all Argentinian and Brazilian semi final against each other?
Yes the Brazilian side was already confirmed since they had 4 quarter finalists in same bracket. But looks like semi finals will be that.

In Sudamericana which is the Europa League its looking like 3 Brazilians and 1 Argentinian in semi finals. Not a good moment for rest of continent club wise.

Boca Juniors 0-0 LDU Quito
Internacional 1-1 Flamengo
Cerro Porteno 1-1 River Plate

So River Plate vs Boca Juniors and Gremio vs Flamengo

Well not so much better in the Copa Libertadores.....

River Plate: In the semi-final for the fourth time in a row
Gremio: In the semi-final for the third time in a row
Boca Juniors: In the semi-finals this year, last year and 2016

Only Flamengo are there for the first time since 1984.

What a disastrous year it's been. Liverpool winning the Champions League and now Flamengo with a good chance of winning the Libertadores. :(

So we'll be playing the winner of this in the CWC semi's I think. I remember Flamengo's coach now he knocked us out of the EL in 2011 with Braga.

River don't play pretty but they press relentlessly and give Flamento no time on the ball.

Let's see if River can keep the intensity but it's not looking too good for Fla

Is the usual standard for South America? Pretty scrappy game. Doesn't help that the picture quality looks rubbish. Rivers attacks have been a lot more threatening so far.
