Think both Greenwood and Haaland would be ok with less playtime the first year tbh. And knowing us at least 1/2 of them would be out injured at any given moment
I’m thinking beyond that really, it’d probably work for this season and maybe a bit of next but sooner or later we’d lose some of them. On the injury front only Martial seems to be our semi-regularly, even then I don’t know if signing a wonder kid when Martial’s only 23 himself is the greatest idea.

BVB had average season so far, but I believe they ll end up at least top3 at Bundesliga and they ll play Champions league next season. Why would he come to United? Every top team will fight for him, even ManCity can try him again. Money? Thats not the problem for any top team out there. History? Yeah, 90s are already gone.

Thats the problem with our situation right now. We are fighting for top6 or top4, but ManCity and Liverpool are fighting for PL and CHL titles. Same goes for Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus or Bayern, and all those teams might go for him. And everyone of them can pay 100 mil. pounds for him.
Don't think that City would be prepared to pay £100m+ it would take to sign him. He might want to come to United because he has the chance of playing a significant part in making us great again and becoming a legend here.

Sane wants out apparently so it wouldn’t shock me, they still have Mahrez though which would hopefully put him off going there.

No, i agree with you. If a player does that type of thing it's poor class from him; you are under contract after all. On the other hand, i have a big problem with clubs publicly criticize players like that; there is no need for it. I'm still scarred i think by what that type of behaviour did to United in the last few months of Mourinho.

It's obvious he wants out and there doesn't seem to be any gentleman agreement with Dortmund in this regard; maybe that's why things have heated up. Or maybe you are right and he is an idiot. Only time will tell i guess.

I said that about Dortmund because this is not the first time; it was a similar situation with Dembele as you say, with Aubameyang and now Sancho. Maybe they are all idiots, but it's also possible it's a club strategy to justify selling a player. Mourinho imo tried to do this at United with Pogba and to a lesser extent Shaw and Martial. It's a dirty strategy but it unfortunately exists. It's the football equivalent of "i didn't really want her anyway".
Everyone in the (German) media seems to believe that he's going to be sold at the end of this season and Dortmund's officials have done little to dissuade that belief. When asked directly Zorc said: "We haven't made a decision on that yet. You don't need to be a prophet to say that Jadon won't be here to play for another five years." Which is as much of a confirmation as you're going to get from him.

I don't really get the Dembele and Auba comparison. Dortmund didn't want to sell either. Dembele went on strike to force a move, the club didn't invent that. Infact they very much kept his indiscretions a secret, it was only after the switch to Barca that he was sued by his former landlord or that he said himself he didn't lead a healthy lifestyle there.
Aubameyang straight up apologized for his behaviour after the move: "First of all, sorry for everything that happened in the last month," Aubameyang posted on his Instagram account. "But I wanted to move already last summer and it didn't work out, but now it had to. Perhaps I didn't pick the best way, but everyone knows that Auba is crazy - and yeah, I'm a crazy guy, hahahaha! "

As far as public criticism goes: when a player gets dropped for disciplinary reasons there is no way of hiding it, it always comes out. Dortmund's official comment has always been that he made an understandable mistake given his age and quick rise. It's only lately (Bayern, Barca) and after several previous incidents that Favre talks more frankly, perhaps it's because he's on the edge of sacking and Sancho's behaviour is doing its best to speed things up.

Dropped to the reserves for showing up late to training repeatedly under Stöger.
Shown up late for training some more under Favre.
Returned late from international break.
7/8 unsuccessful dribbles in 30 minutes against Bayern
Kicker: Sancho has developed a tendency for arrogance and doesn't adhere to rules
Late for training again.
Late for team briefing before game against Barclona.

Has his ego overcome him, or is it just typical teenage growing pains? Sad as it is, that he has turned a bit of a diva, it can only help us, as the more disuptive and petulant he is, the more off-putting he becomes to clubs who already have their sh*t together and don't need the headache of a child acting out or causing any friction in what will be a more settled camp.

We're in a position where beggars can't be choosers, and to land Sancho, even with potential personality baggage, would be a major coup for us.

If things carry on along this track, we'll be one of few clubs in for him and prepared to pay his actual + potential worth. Most other clubs in the banding that could afford him don't need to think in that way.

It's impossible to answer that without knowing him personally, isn't it?! It first I thought he was just a bit tardy, but showing up significantly late to a team briefing in fecking Barcelona has be malicious intent and Kicker writing about arrogance and a disregard for rules doesn't looks so innocent either. I think acting this way when Dortmund are at risk of missing their season targets early shows a lack of respect for his team mates and a lack of loyalty towards his club/employer.

If I was one of his team mates, sitting in that Barcelona briefing, waiting for him I wouldn't think too kindly about him.

Sancho was brilliant yesterday. When he came on at HT, he is a game changer with his passes and dribble. I really hope we can sign him next year. He is not a natural winger and he can pass the ball and vision very well.

From a position of strength, you get to assess players with a lot more objectivity as you are probably more of the prize than they are, and are in a position to walk away, and mean it, as opposed to a club desperately trying to claw its way back to a modicum of respectability.

Someone like Sancho, for as good as he clearly is, isn't better than a Sterling, Salah, Messi etc. who play on the right at those clubs, and it'd be him trying to make a case to justify why he can come into a starting xi there, not the other way round.

Opposed to us, who will need to sell him our 'project' and all the other guff because we badly need his quality injected into the side.

When people talk about us having 'no chance' and all the rest of it, they are failing to see the full picture of pros and cons - we have a lot of pros to him coming here he simply won't get at any other so-called elite club. We obviously have cons, like possibly no CL football; a disjointed club and an usettled manager, but it is far from all doom and gloom. There are valid reasons for him to come here.

There's usually a lot of smoke to go with the fire when youngsters go off the rails, so I was wondering if the German press have worked that angle, or just left it at tardiness and stropping.

Does beg the question of whether it's a tactical ploy to prompt sale; pretty sad if it is, and definitely two fingers up to a club who really gave him the platform to shine.

If he’s so badly behaved then why bring him on at half time. The handling of him from Farve seems very poor. Mixed message by hooking him one week then still getting smashed and then dropping him before throwing him on at half time.

Bringing him on at half time was indeed a mixed signal, I can only explain it by the importance if the match for Dortmund and Favre in particular.

Before that It was quite coherent though. He was suspended against Gladbach and then came back into the squad as planned after serving his sentence.
Him starting against Bayern was consistent as was subbing him off for trying to break the world record in failed dribblings.

Don't city have something about if they match anybody else's bid they get the first chance to negotiate terms with him?
I wouldn't rule out city bidding if thats the case - especially if Bayern are still after Sane as I suspect the costs would be pretty similar
Good point, Sane departing would free a spot, Mahrez is hardly unstoppable either. I wonder if their next mega signing won’t be a Sergio “replacement”, though he is in many senses irreplaceable.

Regarding the part in bold. I couldn't see he him going to the teams you mentioned at the moment for the same reasons. Now that he has tasted regular first-team football, I can't see him going to a team where he may be on the bench every other games. That might work in our favour by him knowing that he will be a regular starter here.

I agree we need to try hard to sell him the project, not just try to coax him by offering wages other teams will refuse to pay. I think it will be very hard to get to get him but us presently being in the crap so to speak may actually work in our favour. By him coming here during our rebuild he knows that if he comes here and makes a significant contribution in making us great again, he has the chance to become a legend. I think that could be a major attraction at the moment.

He's a vital member of their team and starts most the games. Have you just taken the Barcelona line up and assumed he doesn't play for Dortmund much?

Also why do they not have it all to play for? They're still well placed to qualify for knock outs of Champions League and are only 5 points away from Bundasliga leaders.
Firstly drop the attitude please
Secondly no I didn't just look at the Barca game, I keep tabs on a lot of Dortmund's games and as you well know yesterday wasn't the first time in recent weeks Sancho hasn't been involved for the majority of the game
Thirdly Dortmund are a mess this season, their manager is hanging onto his job by a thread and while 5 points technically isn't anything they were far better off last season and didn't win the league so it's hard to imagine them doing it this year in a far worse position. As for Europe they're actually 3rd in their group with Inter (who are 2nd) against a Barca side who have already qualified at home in the final game. Right now Inter are best placed to qualify

Sancho doesn't need to play in every single game to be regarded as a big player for them. The argument that hes no longer important to them because he didn't feature in a very small handful of times is flawed.

What is also flawed is this claim that Dortmund don't have everything to play for just because their manager is on the edge. 5 points is 5 points, do you really think the club have written off all chances domestically because of that? Obviously not. The same point carries to the Champions League. Both Dortmund and Inter are on 7 points and Inter still need to beat Barcelona if Dortmund win their game (which is likely).

Barcelona may have qualified but the suggestion that inter will get 3 points there is presumptuous at best. So yes, they have it all to play for in pretty much every cup. And yes, Sancho is still a vital player for them.

We're still waiting to see if we can sign players in Jan. If we can, I can see us selling Pedro who Frank doesn't fancy and going for Sancho. I've heard he's a Chelsea fan and close mates with CHO & Tammy. Knows Pulisic well obviously.

Pulisic & CHO for LW options and Sancho & Willian for RW options looks amazing, must be said.

City manage okay with an even better set of forwards. It’s completely doable, but does require excellent man management
You can keep players happier when Silva and Aguero are only a few years off leaving naturally, even then they’ve already lost Sancho and are looking likely to lose Sane as well.

Yep and it doesn't matter a jot, how many people work with their mates in the real world? Footballers dont decide where they play based on where their mates are

This January has the potential to be a true muppet frenzy. I can only imagine what this place will look like when we try to go all in for Sancho, Haaland and Eriksen and end up with Mandzukic on loan.

Our number one target available in Jan...

his club wants to sell and he wants to leave...

a number seven in the position we’ve desperately needed to fill for years...

All the stars are aligned!

What? This wasn't my point at all. I was talking about players mentality. Nowadays they don't care about history or values at the club. Yeah, of course they talk about at their first press in the new club, but they want just two things. Money and fighting for trophies. Money arent problem for anyone, but trophies are..

Don't think that City would be prepared to pay £100m+ it would take to sign him. He might want to come to United because he has the chance of playing a significant part in making us great again and becoming a legend here.
Yeah, and do you believe that? Or would you believe that if you were him? Pogba might have thought the same and what happened? Would you risk your career for ManUnited as a ManCity academy player, because there might be a little chance to make them great again?

He has contract until 2022, so next summer transfer window his contract will last two more years. ManCity or anyone can wait one more year, thats no problem, because he is only 19 years old and they can take him next year for 50 mil or next year for free.

If he's gonna be available in January then it's an absolute no brainer. Our right wing has been crying out for pace and creativity and we cannot rely on James only.

If we do get him, we'll probably have the best forward line after pool and city in terms of sheer talent.

Totally agree as if there is an injury to James we may to play Mata or Lingard there, which is something I really don't want to happen.

And it's absolutely a no brainer that he wouldn't come anywhere near us at the moment, it would be career mismanagement for him if he ends up here.

We probably end up with Zaha(I wouldn't hate it) again.

It's certainly worth giving a proper shot. Be a crying shame if we let the opportunity pass on the presumption that he won't come.

City need to replace Aguero, a centre half and a left back so spending £100m on a player who left the club for peanuts doesn't seem that likely even if they as expected sell Sane.

Seems like a player ready to do anything to force a move. Did it at City, now he is doing it at Dortmund. Dortmund must be incredibly unhappy with his attitide to be ready to sell him already in January. If he comes to an English club and does well, he is likely to try to force a move to Barca/Real in 2 years time.

Rashford has made his debut 5 years ago and we haven't read anyone (managers, coaches) complaining about him, on being late to training, his professionalism or anything related to off field incidents.

Sancho moved to Dortmund in 2017-18 and there are few incidents both at City and Dortmund, when it comes to missing training, late to training, match day briefing, late from International duty.

He's United bound imo. Would have happened last summer had Dortmund been willing to negotiate. He's kicking a fuss now to force Dortmunds hand.

Honestly, to be ‘Real or Barca’. The talent just comes to you. Before there are any real links even, once a player looks like a top player, everyone’s fear is that they will go there.
